Nintendo Gaming / M. Night should help make a videogame (For GAMECUBE)
« on: February 27, 2003, 06:46:17 PM »
first of all jollus, you completely misunderstand my meaning of understanding the movie.  Like i said it is philosophy.  By understanding, i mean that it makes certain connections in you.  Just like candy is supposed to taste good, the movie was supposed to make you have certain feelings.  It works in the same way.  The problem is not in your intellect, any one can understand the design and plot of Signs, it is the inability to react properly to it.  Have you ever seen the Mona Lisa.  Did it make you have all sorts of thoughts on exitence and humanity.  It was made with that pupose, yet i could not make that contact with it.  the problem was not that the Mona lisa is not stimulating, it is that I could not react to it properly.  You simplified my argument too much.

i thought you were joking, but when the words start poring in my head i got put them on paper, it didn't necesarilly have to pertain to you, it was to all who call this brown nosing, and i am sure there are some.  I have this problem that when i start typing, or i get an idea going, i take it to crazy extremes, just look at what i said under the GC discussion area under M. Night making a game.  I am a philosopher and i have to analyze everything.  Sorry if you thoguth i was attacking you, i wasnt.  I was just going off on my thoughts.

why does being killed by water have to suck.  Is it merely becuase it is to simple.  I mean it is more than scientifically possible, it is plausible.  If anyone has seen Evangelion, i believe one could say that the Aliens of signs were as pertanant as the robots in Eva.  the story was about neither, but still made it good.
No one complained when the aliens in War of the Worlds died from bacteria in the air.  And that movie was soley about Aliens.  It just seems like a juvenile thing to argue.  Would the movie had been better if Morgan only drank pepsi, and pepsi killed the Aliens.

Here is an analogy, say we one day develope space travel and we find a planet with life forms.  we find the air very suitable for breathing, and after planing, head down to make contact.  While there, it begins to rain just as on earth, but this rain eats through our skin due to the chemical composition of their water.  All of the sudden it seems to make sense, but to the aliens we visited in my fake future, it would seem childish that something as simple and harmless as their water could harm us.

There are too many people who are Humocentric.  I made the word up, but it means that we take certain things as basic truths which we don't question that our in our human lives.  Like water being harmless.

One more thing, we have supported and adore the concept of vampire for years, but all it takes is sunlight to kill them.  And there is a flaw in that in which the moon light is just reflected sunlight.

Nintendo Gaming / Any news on the Legend of Zelda movie?
« on: February 27, 2003, 05:59:09 PM »
i am sure you have seen the zelda commercial, it could be a movie.  It is live-action, but it seems to just automattically scream I AM ZELDA.  Although i love anime, i believe Zelda could be produced beautifully as a live action.  If it became an anime movie, i have a feeling it would have too much sword play.

The movie was about faith.  It was also about entertainment.  The name signs refer to both the crop circles and things which lead to faith.  And the movie wasn't horror.  It was suspense.  His method is to keep everything to the end then put it together all at once.  If in the end the aliens had won, then the movie would not have been about faith, it would have been about cheap entertainment.  M. Night attemprs to leave you with something.  I believe in signs, this thing is that even if their are terrible things that happen, they all happen for a reason.  The movie moral was actually quite religous.  But like i have said above, a large part of the problem is the viewer not understanding the movie properly.

People who didn't like signs didn't understand it, it is basic philosophy.  The problem does not lie in the movie, but in the viewers ability to relate to the movie.  It is not possible to say the movie was bad, becuase it was just a bunch of events, it is how we relate and react to those events.  Those things lie in the viewer.  So all those who say they didn't like the movie show that they just lack the ability to properly relate to it, as being "bad" is not an attribute of a thing, in this case Signs, but rather put upon it.  It works the same for all types of things, art, music, books.

Well to go back to toic, M. Knight is just the most unbelievable producer i have seen.  There is a feeling that is given off by his works that go beyond anything else.  They feel real.  Would Aliens really look strange, we look like a bag of flesh with 4 appendages sticking out.  I believe it is safe to say that M.Knight, behind a game, would just totally redeffine whatever genre he tackled.

Anyway, i hope i have shown how these people who claim the Signs is bad, as people who speak without understanding of the nature of the things they talk of.

i don't see what is wrong with the pokemon anime.  It is not made for older people, it is made 4KIDS.  It is just supposed to be somehting fun.  I dont believe 4kids would do zelda though.  It is far more epic than pokemon.

I am just so happy about this.  MGS is another one of thos great games that can be mature, but have little violence.  I am so very excited, by the way, while typing this, I have seen my 50th Zelda commercial.

I LOVE THE POKEMON ANIME AND I AM 20 with a quite large social life.  I think a legend of Zelda movie could be real cool, after all, spiderman didn't look like it could be done, but it came out good.  I believe it can be done, and i would be very interested in an end result.  They should make Link mute, except for hyaaa noises.

Nintendo Gaming / Killer 7 thread
« on: February 27, 2003, 12:06:41 PM »
i posted this before but the main character is wheelchaired.  He also has 7 personalities, each with unique attributes.  I think some of them can walk.  He is called the Will of God, and is the world's greatest and most feared assasin.  His enemy is The Hand of God, a newer assasin who is quickly gaining power.  Ok thats all i know.

I agree, Halo was most definetly no perfect, it was fun, but thats it.  An vice city gets soooo monotonous.  Buildings and beaches, Buildings and beachs.  The only variety in the game is the cars and the soundtrack.

you know calibretto, i think all N RPG's should use the GBA as an "opptional" menu.  It would be sop cool to just look at your stats while you are playing, or use items on the fly.

Well Sean i will tell you.  it does me no good at all to compliment the site.... none.  However, there are many members of PGC who work very hard to keep all this up and running.  If you did that wouldn't you like to know that the people  you are working for truly appreciate it.  Not everything has to be about personal gain.  Sometimes cominents liek teh ones we have given make the job more enjoyable.
When i worked at a film developing company, someone once said when they dropped of film that, "This is by far the best place to get film proccesed.  I drop everything off here.  You allways do a great job."
Now what did she have to gain from that.  Nothing really.  However, i enjoyed the job more knowing that my work was appreciated.
And i was not about to get my IP banned, the tolerance here is much better than that.

General Gaming / Thinking about getting an XBox
« on: February 26, 2003, 05:59:51 PM »
I also have a gc and xbox.
I really enjoy my Xbox.  I love JSRF.  I love Halo.  I love DOA:3....a WHOLE REAL BIG LOT.  I love Splinter Cell.  I love MechAssault.  I love Oddworld.
I can't wait for fable, true fantasy online.  I think, if you have the funds it is worth it definetly.  Definetly very fun.  An Xbox live is just great fun.  It is worth it.  As long as you have GC, then you are free to roam the market, cause it allready says you are a well balanced gamer.

they should change the rating too A(all) or M(mature). No need for a teen rating.  I mean it is a stupid rating.  Super Smash Brothers Melee got a teen rating.  I sold a gamecube to a lady with 2 kids when i workd at target, and she wouldnt buy SSBM because of that stupid T.  I at that moment began to hate the T rating.  It is a waste of Box art.

Oh, trust me i know it is not.  But it could have been a diffrent reviewer who did the score, and like i said, he could have bee one of the people who were REALLY frustrated with that.  Like there is that one song everyone likes but you.  Maybe that something just personally made him mad.
Anyway, isn't it getting the score else where too.  I thought IGN gave it 10-10-9.5

"I have to say I'm really pissed at which ever magazine wrote this garbage"
Well i doubted the stuff was true, i just needed confrimation.  It was from Game Informer and only had a little block.  The magazine has always been worng, but i needed to know if it was wrong, so i wrote the article and waited for the attacks from the posters.  Anyway, i am surprised Rick was wrong too.  I wouldn't have been too surprised if it was a port of links awakening, Nintendo is having fun with their ports, plus they could have put 4Swourds on their to work on marketing that.
Anyway, i am glad to know it truly is a NEW GAME.  That is much better than a port, unless it was, as someone said, a polished version of the first 2.  That would be nice to have, as many people, especially new gamers, should see what started it all.

Nintendo Gaming / GBA vs GBA SP
« on: February 26, 2003, 12:46:38 PM »
i can't wait to get the SP.  I love my GBA, but the problems it has with lighht and screen scratches is too numerous.  I don't know who said there were no problems, but they lied, the light is veryVERY aggravating, and the screen does get dirty very easily.  I am, however, worried about how comfortable the SP will be.  I guess that is my determining factor.
