I really hate how the save data of games with an online mode can't be copied.

That what homebrew is for. (I have a complete image of my wii flash memory backed up including OS/save/setting/Friend codes/channel/shop account/history/mail/miis)

TalkBack / Re: Issues Reported with Wii System Update 4.2

Unfortunately, the update has apparently had an unintended side effect: some Wii consoles are getting bricked by the patch, despite the fact that they are unmodified and have not been tampered with in any way.

I don't like the way that is worded. Nintendo's software engineers suck at their jobs (assuming they even have software engineers and not just rip some game programmers from their other divisions to put them to the task they're not trained to do) Having an old version of boot2 (on all wii made before Jul 11, 2008 and a few months after) have a 100% equal chance of bricking as a wii as one with bootmii. And upgrading boot2 does not kill homebrew in any way (It kills system backup). The only real way to do it in that way they are try to is upgrade boot1 which is impossible without recalling all old Wii and replace their motherboards. Furthermore, Nintendo didn't try to brick console due to bootmii. That would be illegal and a huge waste of time and money. The only (semi)-brick Nintendo update is causing on purpose is for region changed (imported) Korean Wiis.

Good (pure) played a shitty game and deserves to loss.
1st Khush outright tells me his role on day one. Then he lets it slip that the dog IDed him as good and has teamed up with on day 4. With pm's from decoy basically jest saying he follow the words of people that proves he is good and not any other info it was clear that the lonely Khush's dog was none other than Vudu. Leading to the Evil mafia's victory from my hit on vudu last night.

Not to mention if the good side didn't fool around like by doing crap like this on the deciding day

Quote from: Khushrenada
I'll be quite honest here. I know you probably won't believe but it's true. I'm not trying to play around or be coy. There's no need for me to lie right now. Here goes:

I didn't send out any messages to sway people to vote with me. Vudu and Nickmitch were always going to vote with me. We've been working together since the start of Day 2. Vudu and Nickmitch were never going to side with you. They just wanted to have fun by waiting to vote until the end of the day. Vudu even said so in a pm to me early this morning. I could send you a copy if you want further proof.

I didn't need to argue anything. I just argued with you at the end of the day to see if I could catch you in a lie.

Thatguy would have seen what was about to happen before the polls giving him time to clarify the roles and Khush time to change his role decision. But NOOO, lets give stevey a nervous break down wondering if the vote will come down to a tie and keep him up all night.... >:(

Finally Khush admits,
Quote
Congratulations stevey. I had you pegged as a harmless townie. A part of the lunatic fringe. But you are much more than that. You are the Embodiment of Evil. I'm sure I've provided ample entertainment these past two days as I've run all over searching high and low for the evil mastermind of this game. Again, congratulations. By leaving me alone, I left you alon in my suspicions. Unfortunately, with reduced players means less chance to hide and with most roles now known, you are the only odd piece left. But for these past few days, your play has been fantastic. It's time to bring mine back up to that standard.

You can't do that. Khush made a stupid mistake in assuming about the roles. That happens. It Not Your job and it's unfair to undo the mistakes when he starts crying about it.

I didn't realize I could send anonymous pms just using a player roles. Can I go back to day 1 and tell DaAaman not to block my hit, and change it to khush!

I CALL SHENANIGANS!

Nearly every mafia Host constantly accepts late role pms and constantly are lengthen the time to send them in if enough people haven't already done so. It's more or less to be expected but annoying.

This is flat out throwing away your rules just to give Khush the win.

NWR Mafia Games / Re: Mafia Day Five *SATURN VALLEY*

I'll point this out:  Several times during the game, Bad side players were not clear on the time actions were due for the night, or just sent them in late.  Every time, excepting one circumstance where they sent the message halfway through the day, I let it slide.  I'll say this:  Had I not, this day would have been no contest, won by the Good.  So if I bent some your way, it's only fair I bend some in the other direction, too.  Like Decoyman said, they had the first two time stamps with certainty, according to the time stamps, and the rules are very narrow.

It would've been best if they consulted about the rules, yes, but it also would have been best if your side had played in the correct time-slots, too, and had I stuck you to it, like I said, this day would've been over and done with.

Your acting like this is Khush's first mafia game, holding his hand threw the game. It is solely Khush's fault, Not anyone else! Dasmos didn't edit his vote to change his vote and there are NO RULES against that.

Should have figured you want khush to win at all cost, the two of you always make special arrangement for the other when you host....

Quote
Had Khush understood the rules, and had vote-protection targeted at him, the answer is simple:
stevey would die.  The move wasn't re-arranged.  At all.  And with that, I'm calling the game.

WOULD'VE SHOULD'VE COULD'VE! Boo hoo, so what if he didn't understand the rules. Look at the Super mario kart game no special arrangement where made because people didn't have the roles stragth and khush won as the result, now khush stands to lose and your bending over backwards to accommodate him! Khush should have figure it out if he's so smart....

How many people **** up because they haven't understand the rule and lose over the years? Khush should have pm you to clarify, he is a veteran of mafia games. IT IS ON HIS HEAD NOT MINE, THUS I SHOULDN'T LOSS DUE TO HIS LAZYNESS.

You two are certain about that? Positive that he never took the vote out of the post?

Absolutely. Who else would he vote for?

Quote
This, I'm certain, is the deciding vote.  Whomever wins this vote wins the game, I think we all know.  And unless I can get a few people who are convinced about Dasmos's vote being made before Decoyman's, then I'm calling it that stevey died.  Ten more minutes, but virtually the only way I'm changing my mind is if someone who isn't stevey and not on stevey's side can verify it happened.

If they not on my side then they are going to help me are they at the cost of their win? And not many of the dead follow the game that heavily.

I'd have used my power if I could but like we all now know, it was nullified by the puppet. Otherwise, stevey would be out by a clear majority. Also, why do we have to decide who is right and who is wrong? You should have known my vote would not count and then watched for the next vote cast. With 3 mafia members working together, it would seem obvious that it would be a close vote. All I know is that the rules thread states that it goes by the timestamp of the first public vote. My vote was the first public vote. Whether that vote counted afterwords in the tallying is irrelevent since that falls in the private aspect of the game, the skullduggery of abilities used. My vote might not carry any weight in the grand total but it was still cast publicly and on time.

From the role description, Your vote doesn't count from the time before you even made it. And shouldn't under any circumstance be counted

"Bullshit, Khush's vote was nullified, but it still happened."

If his vote doesn't count then how does it still count? It never happen, thus it loses the first spot.

"Besides that, I specifically told Khush NOT to use his power because we had TWO timestamps ahead of the first vote for Khush: mine and Khush's. I thought timestamps were what we went by."

You really should have checked whether thatguy would have allowed it before hand. And there no reason not to use his power if he has the one he claimed.

It is quite simple. I think too much.

And may I just add that if I'm wrong again, please mafia, put me out of misery. Save me from myself.

That does make sense, you said he contacted you? Who was it! EoE?

Finally, it should be noted that Stevey did not vote for me yesterday. I don't know why. He's voted for me every other day. Maybe it is because he is the gangleader and thought I was the EoE. Since the vote was not going to be against me, he decided he'd better not vote since he didn't know who his new teammates would be and figured he'd better wait to see how the day goes.

People tend to not listen to me to vote for khush if I'll vote for you every time. I had no evidence that vudu or Easycure were mafia so I decide to see what happen and what there roles are before judging you again.

And isn't odd that you suddenly change your vote right after

This game is officially over. Vote Easycure. Gangleader should block Maxi tonight. We are now in wrap-up mode. Thanks for finally coming forward Mr. Gangleader. We've got it right this time.

I case vudu and nick need help deciding here's my logic for thinking Khush is evil.

Reading over the other day's thread: A Quote from Khush:

Quote from: EasyCure on Yesterday at 10:39:18 am

VOTE KHUSH Cuz i don't think he's voting off the good guys by mistake.. prove me wrong khush. prove me wrong.

This is a dumb reason that does nothing to help your case. If I was Evil, I would not have voted out Maxi on Day 1. Doing so would have rid me of two mafia members. Think logically. On Day 1, there was no reason to expect the dead could keep using their powers. So to kill Maxi on Day 1 would rid me of a fellow partner in crime and another potential member in crime, the Proud Child. After all, with no Maxi, the Proud Child would not become greedy and join the mafia. Moreover, it would make far greater sense to allow myself to get voted off day 1 and keep Maxi in the game since he would have the power to bring me back from the dead and if he survived Day 1, the Proud Child would be turned.

To say Day 1 was an elaborate ploy so that I could kill GP on Day 2 is stupid. Moreover, I've been positively ID'd by other players as being on the side of good. I don't need to give you any evidence that I'm not guilty. You, however, do.

Good logic if the Evil (you) knew for sure what role Maxi had. For all we know, you could have though maxi was trying to trick you into believing that he was greedy so as to out yourself as evil and kill you. The safe action, rather than protect maxi and possible out yourself in the process would have to kill him. It's not like Maxi or Proud Child is on the Evil side and Evil obviously does care about them.... Furthermore, you pm'd with your fake role pm one day one trying to see if I'll jump on that as well

I remember reading back when the coins stated to circulate that living president are not going to have a coin of themselves due to political hatred might cause them to be heavily defiled....

Oh yeah, if this update is offensive to onrine game hackers, I'm all for it.

CRY ME A RIVER, ONLINE CHEATERS

The update does absolutely nothing in that regards

Worst yet, it's the first time Nintendo has updated Boot2. So if you have an old Wii, even without bootmii or homebrew, there is a chance that you might get bricked because updating is not well tested by Nintendo and the update function frankly sucks (and hence they avoided it).

29/09/2009

Wii Menu version 4.2 is now available for your Wii console. To update your Wii Menu to the latest version, please select the Update button at the bottom of the screen or select the System Update option in the Wii System Settings.

This update provides behind-the-scenes fixes that will not affect features but will improve the overall system performance.

Because unauthorized modifications to save data or program files may impair game play or the Wii console, updating to Wii Menu version 4.2 will also check for and automatically remove such save data or program files.

**Please note: If you've updated your Wii Menu after 9/29/09, you may not need to update again.

Thank you for updating your Wii console!

Nintendo

Blatant lies. It just add a "Check if HAXX or DVDX channel exist" on every wii boot up to go along with "check for hacked zelda save file" in slowing boot up and it waste the internal memory with cheap stub of IOS (which you could always just install as a different number).

Worst yet, it's the first time Nintendo has updated Boot2. So if you have an old Wii, even without bootmii or homebrew, there is a chance that you might get bricked because updating is not well tested by Nintendo (and hence they avoided it).
