Well, Gamecubeboy, they DID make a gamecube that could play DVDs. It was called the Panasonic Q, but it was only released in Japan. It looked pretty good as well.

Which NEW gamecube? haven't heard anything about it. Is it the platinum gamecube? And just to clear it up, all gamecubes can go online with the broadband adapter, but there are limited games that are online. The Phantasy Star Online games are all online, but there aren't many others (another game - Homeland - is coming soon that will be online). However, you can play LAN games like Mario Kart online by using this site:

CLICKY! This program will allow you to play LAN games online - check it out

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Analog stick history?
« on: March 28, 2005, 05:41:37 PM »
Nintendo invented the analogue stick...but failed to protect it from being copied - therefore all the others followed suit. Hopefully, if the Revolution controller or anything about it is as innovative as the analogue stick, they protect it well

Or it could be like the car games in Mario Party 6 - "Sumo of Doom-o" and that other one where you have to dodge the thwomps and go past the barriers to the end. To control the car, the first analogue stick controls the left wheels and the other one controls the right wheels.

To go straight -----> Both up
To go right & straight --------> First one up, second one right
To go left & straight --------> First one left, second one straight
To go back ---------> Both down

Yes, a title that really leaves it up to the reader to imagine is hard to come by these days. Still, it's to be expected with this generation of children who read books only when it is assigned to them in school.

Yes, I admit that I really wanted another Mario title on the Gamecube. However, it would take a lot of resources, time, effort, and staff to make, wouldn't it?

Funny story..

My cousin has a very monotonic voice - a bit like a robot. The lack of emotion when he speaks never fails to surprise me. Because of this, when he is being sarcastic, you really don't know that he is. This is definitely to his advantage, because when he says something really sarcastic, no one knows whether he actually means it or not. So, whenever he uses sarcasm, he can say that he actually meant what he said, because no one knows the difference. The murder that he gets away with is truly amazing

On another note, my favourite sarcastic comment of all time has to be:
Mother: Trust me, (insert son's name), you'll thank me when you're older
Son: Ah, the old "You'll thank me when you're older" phrase. Number seventeen in the Big Book of Parental Clichés.

I made that up myself - I'm so proud of myself lol

...Damn anecdotes - they get us so off topic

The fact is though, they've had plenty of time to get this game in develpment and released by now. The demand is there, the $$ is there, about two million or so SSBM fans are waiting as well. This is not a hard decision.

You bring up some good points. However, I believe that it should definitely be on the Rev. Even if you had asked me two years ago whether I would want a Gamecube SSBM sequel, I would have said no. It will be a system seller on the Rev, ands that's what we need. I also wouldn't want a GCN sequel because, I mean, how much more can they do do make the Smash Bros franchise on the gamecube evolutionary? And it would lose it's mystique & novelty, and eventually would just be too overexposed

And Nintendo definitely expected SSBM to sell well. I mean, it sold 5mil on the N64. I think that when they released it on the 64, they didn't expect the response at all - but on the Gamecube it had really high expectations. Also, there are more than 2 mil SSBM fans, and if you're referring to the sales, I think it's more than 5 million worldwide

Shouldnt it be, "I use Ian Sane to describe anyone that is so pessimistic that normal people are incapable of thinking so negatively (or at least they would have rejected  him)."

Oh, and yes, the original fairytales were extremely gruesome - Grimm's Fairytales etc

Adaptation is the name of the game. Whenever we use something new, it takes a while to adjust. The DS is not the same as any game we've played so obviously it will take time to adjust to it. However, once you get the controls, it becomes really effortless.

How true... My Dad is the same way - he just gets bored/frustrated as soon as he tried to play any game on the Cube, saying that it doesn't feel right or intuitive. However, he has no problem at all with the DS. I think that all of us have played analog so much that we've gotten completely used to it, but actually the touchscreen is definitely more intuitive. I can remember playing Goldeneye on the N64 the first time. It was so weird moving around with the analog stick - I kept automatically moving my left hand back to the control pad.

I found the controls perfect as soon as I started, and those who didn't will certainly adjust - it really doesn't take long to use the controls without thinking of them. Also, Nintendo won't keep releasing the same types of games - they just won't. Come on..do you really think that they don't know what they're doing THAT much?
