I think the movie was a metaphor for the fall of man. The Axiom was Eden. Otto Pilot was God. Wall-E was the snake who convinces humanity to make use of a special plant and consequently lose paradise but gain knowledge.

Mind blown.

I loved this movie. The science purist in my tried to cringe at some parts but then the movie's charm took over and silenced him. And I was glad about it.

The third movie will happen and will be inevitably hated by everyone. Is the curse of the third sequel and no sci-fi movie has escaped from it (maybe starwars but not really).

Personally I can't wait, since the villain of this one was good but didn't blow me away I'm more than willing to give other villains a chance.

Yeah it was pretty disturbing, but I don't know if they edited the rest of the movie as well, I don't recall anything like that. Probably the fights are better, longer and at least have some blood.

Now that I've given it some thought I can pinpoint exactly what I don't like about the Jokerin TDK. His insanity is too "normal". He shakes his head, he stumbles when walking, he repeats phrases, its basically like the mad people that swing back and forth in a corner while drooling, the usual picture of a mad man. The Joker is more like Hannibal Lecter in that even if their actions prove otherwise they act completely rational and calm.

So I watched and I like it. It was a good movie, far from being the best movie ever as the internet wants to claim but it was really good.

And I liked the Joker, however I still missed some things. The spontaneity of the comic/animated Joker is put away somewhat in favor of "schemes", like the hostage/clown situation or the two boats stuff (with results that were frankly very predictable). Too much emphasis on morality with his actions, but I guess that was because of the two-faces character more than anything . However the Joker smile is just terrible, I would personally had left the scars open like in Pan's labyrinth, that would have been awesome, I also supposed this is why I couldn't see much of the Joker I'm used to know in Ledger's character, not enough smile, the make up didn't do much for me.

Oh also, Return of the Joker is the most awesome animated movie just for this scene. If I'm to believe the youtube comments the movie was heavily edited which is a damn shame, I saw this version some time ago without editing.

Jonny is not fat, is big boned! Don't kill me

I also didn't get wii fit for the price. Since I do absolutely zero exercise I knew I could take some advantage of it, and I want the board because of the inevitable games that are coming and that will use it.  But so far none of the board's use in other games seem interesting enough, except maybe (big maybe) wii music.

Thanks for more impressions. I'm starting to understand the game and from the impression I'm having this thing will actually make people worse at real music instruments.

No need to hurry to catch up. You'll have plenty of time to play all those games during the drought.
Who says there is going to be a drought. Do you have a Crystal Ball?

He clearly had one :P

So from some other thread

Yeah, one of the worst things about Okami's implementation was ignoring the pointer

Uhhh, it DOES use the pointer...

Then is the WORST use of the pointer EVER!

It took me a while, but I finally found the flaw of their design, the remote has to be hold straight, with no tilt, to draw accurately. If I tilt the remote say 90° and I try to draw a horizontal line it will result in a vertical line, thats why I doubt they used the pointer, because the pointer doesn't have that limitation. My guess is that thats the reason of such disparity between the reviews of okami controls.

Some may argue that conveying caligraphy accurately is done better that way but those people don't have any sense of what "fun" and "entertainment" is.

If there's any flaw in the use of the pointer, it's on the side OF THE PERSON USING IT!  I've never seen ANYONE complain about pointer accuracy (only character recognition, which is also mostly human error...)

Accuracy is not a problem, the problem is direction! the remote is always slightly tilted in my hand since I'm not a robot, so to have to straighten it up to draw is just cumbersome and simply put bad design, I can draw so much easier with the star pointer of Galaxy.

It doesn't stop Okami from being awesome anyway. I just beated Orochi, and now getting the boss drunk to beat him is my favorite boss gimmick ever.

Yeah I take my time with the game, I do have a fulltime job and very little free time, so for the first time ever I have a backlog. something that makes the oncoming drought tolerable.

Yeah, one of the worst things about Okami's implementation was ignoring the pointer, but for a game like Fatal Frame it could work well. I can't wait for localization, hopefully soon.

The way I see it, this thing is implemented as such: there is an active current note or chord at any given time. when you flick your remote or whatever it takes to make a sound, that active note/chord is played. In theory, that means that you'lll always play a "correct" note or no note at all. But it didn't sound all that good in my opinion, even when people tried to play as you'd expect if you knew the song. (God forbid you play a song you don't know, because there aren't obvious visual cues.)

So its right to say you control the timing? All I can really do with the Mario song is to make it sound really fast or really slow? I seriously can't wrap my head about this, what kind of idea they had in mind, after all this are the same people that madethe ocarina in OoT, its hard to understand why they didn't follow such obvious example about making music.

From the impressions, I can't believe Nintendo says this should be used as a music education device for children. When the thing doesn't encourages you AT ALL to get better and doesn't even grade you how in the hell are you going to teach anything with that? I'm now so curious about the input I'm hoping they have from actual musicians, what would Kondo think about this thing? ALso, does this has any sort of create your own melody mode? was it shown at E3?

edit:

oh I forgot, is there any sense of control over the music? I still don't understand how can you not fail but at the same time control an instrument. If I have input over the instrument I should be able to fail if I wanted to, right?

Have they confirmed who's developing it? My hope (oh God I wish this is true) is that Tokyo EAD is making the game. Iwata said that the Mario and Zelda teams were hard at work, but he didn't say on what. Most people assumed it would be on Mario and Zelda sequels, but I didn't see it that way at all

Many of the key members of the previous games are at NST now, as far as I know...

what? do you mean Metroid Prime Hunters NST? or am I just ignorant?

Boogie you waggle aimlessly to pretend to dance rather than make music.

But seriously could this baby toy actually sell?
Big Beach Sports is selling well, and that's one of the worst games EVER made. It's hardly even playable, let alone Nintendo published and marketable. This is almost guaranteed a million sales if the disc is blank.

Thats one of the funny things about this new games that Nintendo is making, they absolutely depend on great marketing since they are supposed to reach a new audience, but that fact isn't evident at first sight. We see them and know there's enough dumb people who would make them million sellers, but we are the kind of audience who actually download and stream commercials and trailers, we reach for the publicity in complete opposite of the normal consumer, who has to be reached. Its kind of sad at the end of the day because many "veteran" games have audiences waiting for them but for gaming companies, specially nintendo, spending on great advertisement for their traditional games seems nothing more than a waste.

It often comes close enough.  I could never get into Thief, for example, because I couldn't put up a fight if I screwed up.

Well, that was kind of the point, if you can fight easily then why sneak up at all? Fighting was made crappy so you would try to avoid it as much as possible, but once you were in an impossible situation you still had the opportunity to use it as a last resort.

Stealth adds a lot of suspense and tension, and that is something great for games like Metroid, but I admit trying to find a balance between action, exploration and/or sneaking up is pretty hard and few games if any have done it.With the exception of Metroid of course, minus the stealth part. The highlight of the stealth portion of ZM was for me the same as the article. Metroid is also a game about progression and growing, so regaining your armor and becoming this invincible tank after you were killed with one shot was a pretty amazing feeling.

I see it's appeal although honestly I still don't understand this "game"... at all. However that appeal goes away at a $400 entry price.

Ok honestly this hardly comes as a surprise, did someone really need confirmation of pikmin wii being in development?

Bah, the gameplay looks... less than stellar. The dart thing looks fun though but the rest.. I don't know. For the first time, like ever, I want those silly companion images of how are you holding the remote to perform the moves.

It's actually good they didn't show any other games IF these games are coming a year from now. Personally makes the wait less painful. But if this is true then the late half of this year is going to suck.

you are not really trying to defend them, are you? even their own damn rating system for the channel is casual/hardcore. I want games to be just games again.

Ian, they're trying to combat the perception that third parties cannot sell on Nintendo systems simply because they don't have Mario.

I don't think this conference helped regarding that though.

What I specially don't like is that stupid casual/hardcore division that Nintendo keeps trying to push down our throats. I really was hoping that since they participated in its creation that they would start to break it. My guess is that the promised "core" titles will be shown eventually throughout e3 like they did with Brawl, but that only gives the impression they want to hide the "core" titles from the mainstream as if they were some dirty secret, is shameful and retarded. People can enjoy brain training and mario galaxy at the same time and they don't have to be crazy nintendo fanboys like us.

And wii music sounds terrible, made truly like if it was made with 5 years old in mind only, no skill, no purpose, its just shaking the controls, lets hope I'm just misinformed.

I'm not following any chats or videofeeds or anything so I wasn't sure, from what I'm reading in random forums around the internet is some sort of a show about three games and practically no footage of anything else.
