What can I say, Super Mario Galaxy is hot...However, I was watchin the WB the other day and ended up watching Buffy.  Got me thinking...Could Super Mario Galaxy take down the hotness that is Sarah Michelle Gellar?

"The attendant did confirm that the classic controller would not be packed in with the Wii system, claiming that Nintendo felt that not enough people had broadband so they would not benefit from owning the controller since they could not download classic games"

This is bad.  It's pretty much forcing developers to use the Wii remote for their games, no matter how shoehorned the gameplay would be.  They've touted the classic controller as something for games that couldnt use the remote (SSBB comes to mind) and now it's not a standard in the system.  The clip will undoubtedly be used to attach the remote to the classic controller.  Why else would they have to be ATTACHED?  How can you effectively use the classic controller if you're swinging you're wiimote the entire time?

And in this graph, you can see how the Wii shoots past the competition just before the finish line:
Graph for Wii/Playstation
Of course this graph is skewed because 'wii' didn't exist until like, a month ago.

Thats not really the best indicator of which system will be better

DS vs. PSP

Apparantly, the PSP is kicking ass in terms of trend history around the world, including Japan.  So either all the PSP haxxors are searching for this stuff, the nongamer strategy is working (thus no searches), or Google Trends is full of sh!t.

This thread disappointed me slightly.  When I first read the title I thought it said "Nintendo and Pixar Team Up"  I want a good Mario movie damnit!

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Do you still care about the name?
« on: May 12, 2006, 12:50:19 PM »
I hate the name still.  But I have to admit, it sounds better when paired with something else. "WiiSports" for example, is an attempt of Nintendo trying to build the brand.  Its kinda catchy.  But as for the name "wii" not feeling it

I am curious to see if they will put in voice, I actually had the whole Star Fox 64 script memorized. Yeah I know, I'm a dork. A 6ft 230lb dork, but a dork nonetheless.

Heh, you're not the only one...God i loved that game

Looks amazing...now I gotta buy the Japanese version to get ready for this one.  Oh well, this time I'll be able to read it

Remember they passed a law in Japan that all games (systems too I believe) include tax in the price reported.  Still, it really doesnt make the experience of buying one any less painful

I'm kinda disappointed in WiiSports.  I was hoping that nintendo would bundle in something like that to convince people of what the Wii was capable of.  Tho, it does seem like a "non gamer" game...who knows how many they'll sell

I too miss the mushroom kingdom.  But miyamoto knows what he's doing.  They're innovating, leaving what we thought we knew behind.  Looks fun, cant wait to get my hands on it

Disaster looked pretty sweet as well

With all the recent doom and gloom of less than spectaular Rev specs (not sure if I entirely buy them myself) I hope we'll all be at least half as happy as this kid.  I wouldnt want to spoil it for anyone, but nontheless, I'd like to experience pure unadultered joy one day...maybe sometime this fall...possibly around november...for roughly $200

General Gaming / RE:[RANT] Hardware packaging
« on: March 15, 2006, 10:57:41 AM »
Those packages are horrible.  I hate them just as much as everyone else does...This was a pathetic attempt to shoehorn a related Penny Arcade Comic.  Heh, it still voices our feelings towards blister packing, but now we have visual aid.

General Gaming / PS2 Greatest Hits Commercial
« on: March 07, 2006, 12:46:07 PM »
Saw it the other day and it made me chuckle.  Basically it shows a bunch of short clips of God of War and GT4 while an announcer quotes bits of reviews the games had gotten.  Anyways, the final person they quote is someone who says "$19.99? you've got to be @#$%^& kidding me."  Obviously it was a fake quote, but hasnt Sony learned from past mistakes in falsifying quotes?

"I know this is the wrong place but I only really talk here"

That's a surefired way to get yourself banned, and I hate to see anyone not be able to voice their own opinions because they're too lazy to post in the right forum.

In regards to the commerical however, I dont think it's that bad.  I actually enjoy it, not for what they're saying, but for who's saying it.  The baseball on the right is the voice of Stimpy from "Ren and Stimpy."  Brought back some good memories for me.  I tend to like the advertising for the console versions of Sony's sports games.  The ones highlighting the neverwasbeens athletes who are still living in the past
