I thought having multiple colors is teh tiku tiku tiku!  and Nintendo just getting people to rebuy!

Real gamers only like black. And maybe a touch of neon green.

Well, here is, at the very least, an anecdotal way to determine. Does this gamespot/stop/EB/whatever have any used PSPs in stock? If the store has used PSPs on display, i'd lean more twords the sales pitch idea for this particular store.

Well, that's my point, I guess. What better way to add realizim to games then to let you actually destory Tokyo yourself! I mean its not like they have any trouble rebuilding it....

Any word yet, wether this "Wi-Fi" multiplayer is just DS to DS Wi-Fi or Online WiFi?

And i'm sure we'll get screenshots, video, trailers, but not until closer. I mean, even Xbox 360 didn't have live non fictitious footage until, what, the Burger King campain? And that was only a month, month and a half in advance? And we still do not have factual PS3 footage. So I wouldn't expect any video out of Nintendo until April / May.

I just really don't think Nintendo has to go down the road of FF7 Tech demos / Simulated next gen football. They are doing fine on their own and if people like the final product, they'll purchase one. No need to get hysterical.

You can't get excited about them if you have no idea what they look like or what they play like.

So why did everyone get all excited about PSP GTA. Where were 6-month or 1-Year early screenshots and videos? And lack of videos/screenshots/trailers doesn't stop anyone from getting all excited about HALO 3 for x360. Where are the screen shots / videos of it?

And JonLeung nailed it on the head regarding how relevant non-visual information is to non-fans.

And we have plenty of non-visual information about the Revolution. Why does it not matter to you? Maybe because Nintendo isn't getting into a graphics war? Nintendo has stated that they have no intention of making an uber hi-def machine like their competitors,  that, for them, that direction (focusing on the hardcore gamer) is wrong. That should be plently enough information for you if you are only interested in hi-defintion and uber specs. I mean you are acting as if there is only one way to skin a cat / make a video game system.

And where does Advace Wars and Fire Emblem fit in? I know they are published by Nintendo, but doesn't someone else program/develop them? Or are they kind of like Metroid Prime, Nintendo originals, just programed by someone else.

Apple and orange or at least different types of apples anyway.  The PS3 has had some footage shown for it.  It's debatable how real the footage it but there's something.

Ok, so nintendo should jump on the bandwagon and just release fictitious specs and video. If the specs change its the fanboys falut for believing they would be true. And the video, feh, just something for the fanboys to dry hump to.

We also know more about what games are in the works.  Tekken 6, Virtua Fighter 5, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Resident Evil 5 for example are all confirmed and have at least a trailer.  There's something specific to get interested in.

Never mind that we have Smash Brothers Rev, Metroid Prime 3, FF : CC Rev, and "new miyamoto IP", to look forword to... naw they don't count. They don't have fictitious video trailers assocated with them.

You can say "I want THAT" and then justify waiting for the PS3 for it.  You can't do that with the Rev.  It's just conceptual right now.

Let me guess, the confirmation of the basic size/shape of the final product, virtual console, online gaming, and revolutionary controller don't count either? It only matters that it can do xxx bazillion jigaflops per second, theorically, right?

And what does that matter, the PS3 won't have been out very long either, if at all, so I guess the PS3 is D0omed as well.

I know my opinion here is certainly not a popular one, but your wireless network is home based, right? You may or may not to business work on your PC, but it isn't anything top secret, right? You do keep your computer updated with all of the security patches, right? You have a WiFi device or two (not just network cards, but PDAs, Blackberries, or a DS) that only supports WEP, right? And you, of course, are not doing anything blatently illegal like trafficing CP or cracking Pentagon/DoD type computers, right? If so, I say you are a prime cadidate for using WEP.

WEP has no place in a bussiness or government setting, but for home networks where the idea is convieniece/recreation and the computers are otherwise patched/secure, you can ignore the tin foil hat jocks.

Yea, its pretty rediculus how petty some players are. Just this evening, I signed on for a quick game. I was not in the lead for most of the game, but finished 1st because someone in 3rd or 4th fired a blue spiney shell. I heard it coming and hit the brakes so as not to get cought in the explosion. Everyone disconnected the start of the 2nd race... I don't get it, but whatever its easy enough to find a new set of players.

On the release week of the DS Nintendo was saying that 1 dead pixel is all you need. Just give Nintendo a call and KINDLY air your grievance. That or take the DS back to the store and get it exchanged for a defect free DS.

So i'd really be inclined to think that it is not going to use WFC and that they are (maybe purposefully) confusing multi-card DS to DS WiFi with Nintendo WFC. Why would either Nintendo or EA want to hide online?

Well, I think we've found the problem here. You have something personal going on with, or against, Mario. You do realize the rest of the world has no problem with Mario and infact enjoy him very very much, right? I mean .... honestly, what is this news post about? Hence, why we want Mario and cast, not anyone else, in DDR, gokarts, on the tennis court, and out on the baseball diamond.

Just because Sony and Mircosoft would/do (Masterchief in DOA4) also whore their franchises out, doesn't mean Nintendo isn't doing it.

No, I am not saying to put master cheif in some ridiculus situation (i.e. Masterchief in DOA4), what I am saying is Sony and Microsoft would really benifit themselves by having a character(s) or franchise(s) that was as flexable as Mario is. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but neither have anything like that. They are all inflexable, Sam Fisher would be out of place anywhere but a stealth game, Master Cheif would be out of place anywhere but a FPS. What the hell else would you do with Blix? He's just this badass cat with attitude. Same with Crash Bandicoot. These are personas / personalities targeted at a very specific customers. The reason why Mario is so popular is because he can be enjoyed by everyone. Yes, children and athletic jocks alike can and DO enjoy mario. He's not just a stealth agent, or army general, or bad ass cat, or strange ape looking thing. Mario, Bowser, and his goonies (be it koopa troops, Bullet Bill, or his children) are characters you can really get to know and really like. Unlike Sam Fisher or Master Chief who's image you either identify as cool or not.

So would you say that DDR with Mario, SSX on Tour, and NBA Street v.3 are not examples of Nintendo allowing Mario to be in random games too freely?

DDR is a really fun and popular game. Mix DDR w/ Mario Tunes, graphics, and the characters that we all know and love and you've got a really great combination, its an excellent expansion of the Mario universe. You're a fool if you can't see this.

As far as the NBA Street, its a cameo first of all, not a lead role. And second its a great clash of stereotypes. "Oh you think you're such a bad ass, eh? Well i'm going to lay the smack down on you know with PEACH!" And as for SSX I didn't even know he had a cameo in there, doesn't suprise me though, he is univerally well liked, and probably a nice unlockable.

You know what is really pathetic? That for SoulCalibur 2, neither Sony or Microsoft had charaters to fit in as the system exclusive selectable character. Sony had to bring a weapon less fighter character in to a weapon based fighting game and Microsoft had to contract out for Spawn who supposedly is a good fit because because his costume is all black and shoots neon green goo.

It would almost be better if Nintendo had made new characters to be having parties and playing sports... [...] If this stays the same and never changes, they'll wither and die.

The idea of Mario kart/baseball/tennis and such is that Bowser and Mario can set aside their differences for a moment and just have some fun togther. You personally may not enjoy the game, but thousands of other people do. You wonder why Mario Party continues to sell well? Geez maybe because its constantly changing and its just a good party game?

Many Nintendo fans have to be experiencing a Mario saturation.  Nintendo's entire line is practically Mario.

You're got very limited sight then. What about Pokemon? What about Zelda, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Nintendogs? What about those nice 3rd party games like Megaman, Castlevainia, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem. There are plently of other games to play.

Well, I think it would also be helpful to realize you don't have to buy all of these. Buy the ones that are important or exciting to you. Don't let it bother you if you miss a Mario game. Trust me, Mario won't die off just because you didn't buy his latest game. You'll burn yourself out otherwise. And you can always pick it up later or just jump in along the way.
