Online would be cool, but I can predict it would be a bunch of droppers or faggots screwing around.

Edit: Perhaps they can do friends only WFC play.

are there even any PS3 titles in that top 30, or the top 50 for that matter?

The best way to view NintendoWorldReport is with Firefox and the Adblock or Adblock Plus plug-in. Removes the ads before they even get rendered into the html of the page. And the FlashBlock plug leave flash objects in the page html, but they aren't activated until you click on them. Guess what that means for those annoying overlay flash ads, they never activate so you're never bothered by them ever again.

If they stopped making GBA's then they would have plastics available to make more DS's.
Yea, but if there were no SP's availible Nintendo might not get a sale. GBA still has great games availible and an ever extensive back library. And there is no doubt or hesitancy about the PSP outselling the DS. So I wouldn't be so quick to kill the SP off.

Vegetable oils are very unstable for heating/cooking, they break down into carcinogens and free radicals almost as soon as you heat them. They have very high smoke points, but still are chemically unstable. So one of the reasons why the oils are hydrogenated is to improve the longevity of the oil. In otherwords, restraunts do not want to replace their cooking oil everyday, it would be prohibitivly expensive. Hence, hydrogenation.

The highly monosaturated oils are pretty chemcially stable (i.e. Olive oil), but again are prohibitivly expensive.

Well, if Jimmy and Bobby want to play multiplayer GBA games together, they can't use a DS. Also, money speaks... $50 less is a big difference to the parents if even if their kids only want to play single player GBA games. Since if they want DS games eventually, or badly enough, they can just work for one doing their paper routes, mow lawns, or just be good kids and get straight A's.

If they want a GBA I wouldn't try to push a DS on them. A GBA sale does not mean a lost DS sale, just a delayed one, and with nearly 1 million DS sales in November you don't have to worry about the DS not selling well.

When I went into pick up my Castlevania pre-order at EB I saw something I figured i'd never see. Xbox and 360 games all shoved to the very back of the store. All things Nintendo had been promoted to the leftside of the store. Xbox/360 and PS2/PSP had been previously competing for space at the very front of the store. With the introduction of PS3, I guess, Microsoft got 86'd, but i'd never have expected Microsoft would be put all the way in the back...

Yea. $80 for a GBA is really pretty good if you can't afford a DS. And while AAA titles are pretty well not being released for it anymore, it still has lots existing AAA titles and, of course, can play all GB and GBC games.

It's pretty amazing though, 600,000+ units in November... the SP sells little over 4,000 units in a month in Japan on average.

Well, US customers were still getting used to the DS when the phat was still selling. I mean, there wasn't a insignificant number of people who slighted the DS for it's 'stupid' two screens, lack of built in multimedia, and 'last gen' graphics. The jury was still out, so to say, on the DS until the launch of the DS lite. I'm sure the awesome LCDs, smaller size, and very slick looks of the DSL spurred adoption too.

Can't say i'm disappointed that everyone has warmed up to the DS

3D and HD are nice, but I still really enjoy low-def 2D games a lot too.

They estimate. They take a look at the sales data and the company, if they're having production problems, etc... then guest a certain number of units sold per min. Then the computer just automatically adds X number of units a min. With the Wii system launch, i'm sure they just added 400,000 in by hand and maybe then doubled the number of units/min added.

Someone should try chaning their "country" setting on their US model Wii to Japan or Europe. And see if you can download different VC games that way... (I'm not opening my Wii till xmas day).

But that wouldn't let Ian blast Nintendo for whatever reason.

The VC, so far, only sells NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, and TG16 games. So it makes sense that the NES version of games gets released and not the arcade version.

Depending on what you define as "a looong time", you might want to put an inexpensive TV up there along with them. The broadcasters and media producers heavily want to move away from unsecured connections such as RF/composite/component so it could be not too far off in the future where you won't find tv's with those such inputs.

Not a whole heck of a lot... Perhaps a house, maybe a stock or bond purchase, but not a video game purchase. I'd certainly give a hard copy game more longevity then a VC purchase, though.

The VC games are a cash grab on nostaligia sake. Yes, just a way to get you to pay again or pay for a game you didn't buy back in the day. There purchase is not ment to be a 40 year investment, but rather a temporary one. You're fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

Buy the original game and hardware if you want to keep the game around for more then the life of the Wii console.

Oh me too. Me too

Honestly I wouldn't think of VC games as a 40 year purchase. I wouldn't think of hard copy game purchases (i.e. games on CD or in cartridges) as 40 year purchases. So if you need your VC games to be around for 40 years, I wouldn't invest in virtual console games.

Most of these games are easy enough to find for the original hardware anyway.

No free wii points. If you want Wii Points you need to buy a Wii Points card at a store or Use a credit card to buy Wii points through the shopping channel.

219
And if your Wii gets borked, call Nintendo.

As with the people who purchased VC games and then got their system bricked by a System Update, Nintendo replaced their system and VC games.

Wait... The game attach rate is equal to total game sales / total hardware sales, right? If that's right, then the GameCube has an attach rate of 8.7 games per system sold in the US and 9.3 worldwide. That's pretty really pretty damn good for a "phailed" game system with no 3rd party support.

I mean, I know I have, geez, like 25 games for the system, but I figure that's because i'm a pretty hard core Nintendo fan. Do we know what the game attach rate to PS2 and Xbox1 are?

Heh... if this xmas is anything like last xmas and Nintendo can continue to supply the DS's without running out of them like last year, Pac-man's mouth is just going to keep closing...

Hang on a second... the Wii will be coming out next week... So does that mean Pac-man will be eating wii?

I don't think this will be the first time Pac-man has eaten wii, though... (if only I could remember that web comic strip)

I understand this would be a bit destructive, but couldn't you just cut out the portion of the glove covering the battery cover? If you still want that rubber grip you could use double sided tape to attach the cut out portion to the battery cover. I'd be cheaper then new controllers and would allow easy battery swaping.

If you want rechargeability, just get some AA rechargeables. They'll last longer and you can pop in freshly rechaged ones when the current pair run low or out of power.

The rest of your posts sounds good. It'd be awesome to see KH or FF on Nintendo. Understandably, i'm not holding my breath though. I certainly do want to see another CC though. I'd be disappointed if CC got cancelled.

Well, I dunno about you, but I know the GC was graphically capable of more. When the cube got crappy ports, i'm not surprised they didn't sell as well as Nintendo's first party offerings.

Conversly i'm not surpised that now 3rd Party games ARE selling on Wii since they are bringing not only original content, but putting effort into creating Wii games. Not just, "Oh, well, just make it work."
