The Wii's backwards compatibility was/has been/will always be an afterthought for Nintendo. Remember the "Ohh motion controls!" That sold the Wii.
My point was that if you used a peripheral to play N64 on GC and it wasn't put of the box, it wouldn't have changed a thing. To be honest, I don't think it would've mattered either way. How did the Gameboy player sell?

« on: February 26, 2011, 09:58:17 PM »Looking back at the Gamecube-Gameboy player Nintendo should have made something similar for N64 games and easy access to backwards compatibility might have helped the Cube against the Playstation 2 being able to play PS one games.
This wouldn't have been a bad idea at the time, if it came in the box. Buying a peripheral to play the last generation console wouldn't have worked. The PS2 came with backwards compatibility because it needed to, it had no games to show and a rushed launch iirc.

Definitely F-Zero. A YuGiOh game where the cart recognizes my real life cards by just showing them to the camera would be pro.

It's a really good game (outside of the blue coin bullshit) that has the misfortune of having to be compared to Super Mario 64 and the Galaxy games, which are among the greatest games ever made.QFT
