Nintendo Gaming / BAD A$$ MO FO (SPOILERS WITHIN)
« on: April 02, 2003, 05:03:42 PM »
Read only if you've beaten the game please

SPOILERS

Ganondorf is exremely f@*&in cool in Wind Waker.  It was like watching some Japanamation  cartoon or something, but dude, dual swords, that get-up, just all around bad ass man.  I think that Nintendo finally perfected his look and style, cuz he rocks in WW.  Anyone agree/disagree?  any other characters you liked?

I have to agree to some degree.  some points were more confusing than difficult.  But in OoT, don't you recall how you recieved the Light Medalion from Raru?  He gave it to you, willingly.  All you had to do was pull the master sword out.  so I can see the similarities between them.  however, it doesn't take very long, and you live almost forever.  I died a total of 3 times.

General Gaming / Anyone have C&C Generals??
« on: April 02, 2003, 01:19:43 PM »
I was checkin the game out, and it's weird that a C&C game actualyl has a unit limit.  But that's good because when you've got 55 tanks it's hard for anyone to not be beat.  I was just wondering about it because the system reqs are a little steep, well for a broke ass like me, so I was wondering if it was worth a buy/upgrade.

Nintendo Gaming / Red Faction II question
« on: April 02, 2003, 01:02:21 PM »
What's goin on ya'll?  I haven't bought a new FPS for anything since Time Splitters 2 (very highly recommended) and Red Faction 2 sparks my interest.  Anyone played it on the PC?  Or on another system?  I want some good feedback on whether or not it's worth the buy, cuz I beat WW already.  :-\

Nintendo Gaming / should i buy the broadband adapter now?
« on: April 02, 2003, 12:58:30 PM »
AERO: Amen man.  I went looking for one just to go ahead and buy one.  But why???  I don't have any intrest at all in PPO, altho it does look like a cool game.  it's just, I barely have time to play Wind Waker, let alone some online game.  Plus I'm waiting patiently for an online FPS on GC, if that'll ever happen.

Nintendo Gaming / help my gamecube says error has occured!
« on: March 29, 2003, 09:43:39 AM »
how does your disc drive overheat?  my GC has been on for the past 4 days while I've played Wind Walker for about 3 hours at a time.  Do I need to start shuting it down?

Nintendo Gaming / Release Date?
« on: March 24, 2003, 01:12:05 PM »
I didn't even get my bonus disc when I pre-ordered.  The guy at Babbage's had no F-in clue what I was talking about.  lol  He's like uhhhh well if it's coming with it, then you'll get it when the game comes out.  So much for pre-ordering early, huh?  And yeah, the Babbage's here is just like the others, I'll be waitin till tomorrow (Tue) the 25th for mine.  Oh well, I woke up late today anyway, plus the guy said they tried to call but couldn't get through, so I'll have to wait till tomorrow.

Nintendo Gaming / I don't like metroid prime. Heres why:
« on: March 17, 2003, 12:59:17 PM »
I have to agree with you somewhat.  I thoroughly enjoyed the game while I played it.  However, I enjoyed Eternal Darkness while I played it too, and yet both of these great games collect dust.  I really did like them, but I think both were too short for their own good.  MP took me 12 hours to beat with only minimal help.  Same way with ED, except it took about 5 hours each consecutive time to beat it with all colors.  And when they release the sequel for MP, and hopefully maybe one for ED, I hope that they're longer/harder then their predicessors.  That's the only beef I had with either game.

Nintendo Gaming / Splinter Cell enhanced for Gamecube.
« on: March 11, 2003, 03:19:26 PM »
mrcivic - LMAO  I dig the DOA Beach Volley Ball cover.  Perfectly shows exactly what the game's all about.

Well, I think the game looks very interesting, so I may just give it a try.   Other than Wind Walker, I'm not really looking forward to many games.  I don't really have much time to play games anymore.  Maybe my GC and I are drifting apart.  I might have to go seek couciling soon guys.....

35
I said budget because it's the least expensive.  To me, budget means cheapest, but not cheaply made.  I know that GC is more powerful than PS2, and only a tad-bit less powerful than the Xbong.  And, I've got a collection of 25+ games for the GC, so people who wanna say that the games are dumb need to play before they speak.  I've thoroughly enjoyed every single game I own.  Back to the subject, I think that Nintendo will perhaps be more aggresive next time, but I still think it won't be the most powerful.  It's a dream of mine that sadly will never come true  :-\  However, I do think them staying with ATi was a great decision.  As far as the processor goes, I'd like to see what NEC-Cray can come up with, if the big N decides to go with them.  The Cell sounds pretty cool, but things can sound cool, but wind up being pure crap, right?  I eagerly look forward to the next war.

36
Personally, I hope Nintendo plops down as much, or more, money than Microsoft to ATi for the GPU.  I'm sure MS is happy to call their console "the most powerful console available", so it wouldn't suprise me if/when ATi decides to make GPU's for the Xbox Next that they'll make a huge donation to ensure superiority.  And even if the next Nintendo system does have powerful specs, it still won't be the most powerful.  The Big N, as stated earlier, is money concious, and money concious doesn't equal extreme power.  Get your head out of the clouds.  Unless Nintendo changes its tune about its money, then I'm looking for the next console from them to be the budget one, as always.  But that's fine with me.  And if it is the most powerful thing available, then rock on.  I'll only buy Nintendo no matter what, so it doesn't matter.  Personally, I think ATi should make the GPU for the next Game Boy.    Having a portable PS2-type console wouldn't bother me one bit.

Nintendo Gaming / Pre-E3 list, (not confirming list)

Hey is that Super Mario Advance 4 gonna be the FINALLY released Mario Bros. 3 remake??

Nintendo Gaming / Metroid Prime in Progressive Scan.....wow!
« on: March 05, 2003, 02:24:58 PM »
Agent: It supports Dolby Pro Logic 2, not Digital, hence the no-audio connection with the cable.  From what I hear (no pun intended), it's not that bad of an alternate for Digital.  Personally, the big TVs just aren't my style.  Unless of course it'll go in my living room, I'd rather have a 27 - 32" Flat Screen Sony Wega hooked up in my room, which is where I've learned to love to play.  Right now I think anything better than my current TV will make me happy.

Nintendo Gaming / have you ever been so bored with AC
« on: March 04, 2003, 02:05:06 PM »
I had fun with it, but I decided not to buy it.  Keeping up with my life is hard enough, plus I don't have enough time to play games anymore.  But yeah it was fun.  I went fishing every day, and had 10 exotic fruit trees near my house, so money was no problem.
the biggest perk for me was seeing how big Tom Nook's shop would get.

Nintendo Gaming / Is this a glimpse of the future? Blu-Ray Disc ...
« on: March 03, 2003, 04:01:17 PM »
Haven't really followed the new trends with the whole Blue Ray thing, but most game makers have problems filling up 1.5-3 gigs worth of space, let alone 23 gigs.  I think things will still be compressed, and they'll probably go with very realistic pictures, but not the real thing.  not just yet.  And trust me, if you're really into graphics you'll tell the difference between 1 billion and 1.2 billion.  Hell I expect nothing less than about 600 million raw from these next consoles.  perhaps maybe even edging into the billion mark?  That might be a little much, but those kind of graphics would blow me away.

Nintendo Gaming / Ye olde cel-shaded debate, again.
« on: March 03, 2003, 03:16:04 PM »
Amen Rick.  Seriously, I had issues with the whole look for awhile too, but you know, I can't remember last time a Deku poped out outa the ground and shot me in the ass with a nut, or the last time a Kokiri kid asked me for some change for the ice cream man.  Zelda is all fantasy, and I embrace the new look with a positive attitude.  It wouldn't be Zelda any other way.  However, that doesn't mean I didn't dig the realistic approach.  It would just seem better if the game had spoken lingo, had a real orchestra playing the music, etc. to complement the real look.  but i don't think it'll ever happen, but that doesn't mater.  as long as there's zelda comin out, i'll be happy.

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda Preorder Question
« on: March 03, 2003, 03:12:04 PM »
Hey I know this probably ain't the place to ask this, but just let it be answered and then delete it please Admis.  Bless me with this.

I went and pre-ordered Wind Walker yesterday and I didn't get my Bonus Disk.  I ordered it from Babbage's, and I asked em if they had any more, and they said they might, but I would probably get it the day WW comes out.  I thought the whole purpose of the pre-order was to have the nostalgia while I wait for the new one to come out.  Kinda defeats the whole purpose.  Any comments on why they did this?  Anyone else have the same thing happen?

Nintendo Gaming / wavebird?
« on: February 28, 2003, 04:47:52 PM »
I love the WaveBird.  Most people bitched because there wouldn't be a rumble, but after I got used to not having to worry about my girl's 3 year old neice pulling the wires, or having to pause and lift the wires for someone to pass, plus the fact I can lay down in my bed and play my Cube, I'm hooked.  I don't even remeber what the rumble felt like, and don't really care.  I'd rather be able to play with my Cube way out of harm's way.  And honestly, I did test my Cube, but dunno how far I got.  But it doesn't really matter.  Nintendo makes it, and they made it with plenty of working distance in mind.  And without IR, it's a dream.  I've got 3, going for 4.

Nintendo Gaming / M. Night should make a videogame
« on: February 27, 2003, 04:09:11 PM »
Dude if he could make something like his movies, I think it would rock like no one's bidniss.  sounds like an ED, though.  And we all know how well TAHT sold.  I loved the game, and it got NO credit, except for the few, the proud, the buyers.  :\

Nintendo Gaming / GameCube Controller to PC connector
« on: February 27, 2003, 04:04:42 PM »
first off, give props out to my boy opie for the second half of my sig.  Opie, you rock dude.  But yeah, I know Quake 3 is best played with keyboard mouse blah blah, but I've always done better with a console controller.  Seems weird to believe, but it's true.  Don't get me wrong, it'll take some time to get used to, but i just thought it'd be a neat to beat some ass over the Net and say my Cube helped out.    And if I lose, no one has to know......don't ask, don't tell.....
Oh and by the way, thanks Rick.  you rock dude!

Nintendo Gaming / What are the plans for Serial Port #2?
« on: February 27, 2003, 01:11:58 PM »
sounds good.  the connection would come out the back so that it wouldn't interfere with the GB player, whether you have one or not.  I don't know why, but I think instead of adding 5 different ports, why not fill them already?    Give us some kick ass options that no other console has, like a Bagle Bite cooker or something.  But yeah, I realized that most consoles do come with the most unused addon capabilities, but I guess it's good that they're there.  No product is 100% out of box, and with the GC having 3 expansion slots, I think it's a very good idea, seeing as how many different possibilities there could be for additions to an already awesome console.  But anyway, a type of ethernet connection between Cubes seems likely, but couldn't that be done with a Broadband Adapter and a cable?  They could've made the adapters to behave like Hubs.  Who knows.  Wait I got it.  Maybe there's a printer we don't know about, and now we can print out Hott Pictures of Princess Peach in her Panties from Super Smash Brothers: Melle!!  CLICK HERE!   lol   Sorry, had to do it.  Peace

Nintendo Gaming / What are the plans for Serial Port #2?
« on: February 26, 2003, 02:44:10 PM »
Man, I never realized that EVERY single major console (which doesn't include Virtual Boy because I didn't own one and dunno if this pertains to it) had an expansion slot.  NES, SNES, N64, and GC all have expansion slots.  What gives?  Oh, and I have no clue as to what the serial port #2 is fer.  if anything it'd have to come out the back because we know the port #1 is for the GB Player.
