I still want a Zero Mission-type remake of Zelda 1...

I *wish* something like this would happen, if only for Pac-Man vs. (one of the best multi-player games ever)...

Nintendo Gaming / Games with kickin' Surround Sound?
« on: December 26, 2004, 07:35:20 AM »
Well, my Father-in-law (who is really cool) got us a Surround Sound system for Christmas.  It's nothing major, but it is nice.

Well, while looking through my GameCube games, I noticed that very few of them feature surround sound...  So - what games should I look for?  Anything in particular?

The only problem I have with the "gap" is that it is the holiday season.  If I were younger, I'd be upset if I had this brand new system and there wern't really any games to tell everyone I wanted for Christmas.

Of course, now I buy my own games, so... 'eh...

I think he's reffering to that it doesn't work with the non-SP version of the GBA...

The question is... (and I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet...)

What are the odds of the DS using an SD card for saving data for online games...  (like a hard drive)...?

Just a thought...

No.  The difference is that Sony never WAS making Zelda games, and has and never WILL be able to make Zelda games, so nothing is being revoked.  The customer isn't getting shortchanged because there wasn't competition in the first place.  In the case of the EA/NFL, any real possibility of fair competition is being removed.

Well, we could use the same example but throw in Disney lisences and any of the various companies who made Disney games over the years... or *may* other lisenced titles.

Yes.  That's like saying because Nintendo gave Capcom exclusive rights to make Zelda games, they're giving Capcom a monopoly and Sony should be allowed to make Zelda games as well.

I kinda feel that Mario 64 was the launch title for two reasons:

First, when the previous system lauched with a *great* title that wasn't a "Mario" title, everyone threw fits (Luigi's Mansion)...

Second, Mario 64 is a very indepth game - rich and full in game play.
Wario Ware, while one of my favorite games (I've got both the GBA and GCN versions, and I'm highly anticipating the two upcoming titles) is pretty... I don't know.  But it's not really a Mario 64 type-game...  I'm not sure how to phrase this...

Anyone with a GameBoy Player, the Hori Digital Controller is a *must* with it...

You know, my NES, SNES, N64, GameCube and Virtual Boy controllers all work just fine and dandy...  And I've bought plenty of used controllers with no problems...

I completely disagree with the idea of stats in a Zelda game.

However, if I was to play a game that had stats implemented, I would enjoy one something akin to another game that came out whose name I cannot think of right now...  Your stats increased as you played, but the monsters you battled had stats that changed based along your own individual stats - meaning that it doesn't matter how freakin' powerful you were at the final boss - he was still more powerful than you.

I kinda imangined that there would be different kinds of "Option Pak" add-on devices - one of which might be a rumble pak...

Oh, btw, the message is actually "DS Options Pak Detected" - so it's defenatly something Nintendo is planning, since they've always used the "Pak" description

I personally can confirm the "DS Options Pack Detected" - athough not with a Flash Card (bad!).  Putting in the GBA Game Shark without a Game Pak in it shows this message (on my DS at least).

As far as the "Rumble" message, http://www.dual-scene.com reports that [With certain flash carts, when setting the alarm, the Nintendo DS will ask you "Would you like the Rumble Feature to accompany the alarm?"]

If IGN continues to do a poor job at reporting the news (which, over all, is simply what is going on here), there are two ways this can go.

Either people will stop going to IGN and they'll slowly wither and die *or* people will continue to go to IGN to "stir the pot" which makes more people want to go there to check out all the action - all of which increases their readership - and their advertising revenue - making them continue to report "news" that pisses people off so more people will come to "stir the pot".

I stopped going to IGN *years* ago.  I would reccomend that everyone else do the same.

Are you kidding?  I've seen more "Free DS" ads while browsing the forums than I've seen threads for free DSes (?)....

Not that I care at all... I just found it amusing.

Yeah, they were pretty much the same game... that's why I said it was just as fun.

I've always kinda felt that we wern't really supposed to think of Wario Ware (GCN) as a seaperate game from the GBA version...  just a port with a few features added/taken away - to optimize the game for play on the GCN... basically, if you own one, you shouldn't buy the other... (although I did....)

The GameCube version is pretty fun...  in fact, it's just as fun as the Game Boy Advance version.
