Killmonger?

127
I'm mostly wondering if this Pietro will explicitly be the DoFP one or just a "generic Pietro from another universe".  Marvel picked that actor for a reason, but is it a part of the misdirect, a wink and a nod fanservice, or will this explicitly the first tie in with the FoX-Men?

128
>Perhaps the "she" that Norm was referring to wasn't Wanda?

I feel like this is a given.

129
Ohhh... Sony and Disney split again and Sony wants to do another Spider-Man movie with RDJ, so they get Warner Bros. on board out of spite to Disney and we get Spider-Man/Sherlock Holmes.  The crossover zero people asked for.

130
Spider-Man: Homelessness is a real problem in our country and Sony/Disney is committing $10 Billion from movie profits to helping give homeless homes.

131
Why is Spider-Man: Far From Home being re-released at the end of 2021?

No love for Number Battle?

Starship Defense also gets a high five from me.  Great Tower Defense game.

The first one, when you take it in a historical context, is pretty dang amazing.  As a movie, I feel it still holds up today.

I need to see the remix of the second.  But the original version is... *okay*.

Everything after that... *cat hairball sounds*

134
Dead-beat father and a rapist.  I don't understand the appeal of that movie.

135
It would make for an interesting one time story.  I guess you could have him go into space for a few years, get bored, come back to Earth, and tell a story of him getting reacquainted with future-Earth... And then?

136
It sounds good in theory, but it opens up a lot of confusing issues.

Superman, for example, essentially never ages.  How does his alter-ego get handled?  Does he stay with Lois, being her 40ish year old boy toy as she passes away in her 80s?  Or does she get de-aged every few years like Magneto seems to?  Does he end up getting so disgusted with humanity that he just flies off to go live on another planet?  I would.  But that doesn't make a compelling story for four issues a month for the last 30 years or so.

Comic continuity is a mess.

Fantfourstick.  4/10 in 2020 dollars.  8/10 in 1990 dollars.

This movie wasn't quite as terrible as everyone made it out to be.  Sure, it's predictable, cliché, and doesn't do the source material justice, but neither did most 90s comic book movies.  If this script had come out in the 90s, I'm sure it would have done as well as any comic movie from that time period.  You may argue against the quality of comic book movies today, but, for the most part, they've upped the game and the expectations, something FOX just never got their head around with their later X-Men installments.  It's a shame, they helped paved the way for the modern super hero film, but they took an exit to a rest stop and just kinda stayed there.

Season 2 Episode 3.

Buster, Plucky, and Hampton steal a beer, get drunk, steal a cop car, then die.

Kinda surprised they kept this one in. 🤣

Man alive, eight years?

Thread has been forwarded to the tech team, I'm honestly shocked it never was an issue.

We have a tech team?

And we're *still* using this broken, outdated forum software?

Can we fire the tech team?

NWR Feedback / Forum Password Reset Broken
« on: December 16, 2020, 01:54:57 PM »
I changed devices recently and tried logging into the forums to no avail.  I tried every password I could think of and couldn't log in.    So I tried to get an email to reset my password - no go.  I was completely unable to get an email sent to me.

Grabbed my old device and I'm accessing the site with it for now.

Help?

I watched four episodes yesterday and.... meh?

The lack of supporting cast really hurts the show, IMHO.  Pinky and the Brain were the best when it came to Animanaics segments, but the A-B-C formula of a P&tB plot is too stale to feature on every single episode.  Where's Chicken Boo?   I need my Chicken Boo!  Considering how the first episode made a big deal of the Warners and P&tB being gone for 22 years, a Chicken Boo skit where he manages to pull off his disguise for 22 years virtually writes itself.

It's not *bad*.  It's just... meh.  Maybe it doesn't live up to my nostalgia.  Maybe my tastes in Animation have changed.  It could just be me, but the work as a whole just falls flat for me.

144
Probably right about Reno, but... it was the only thing I knew about Qubi. 🤣

145
That brings up an interesting issue.

There is a non-zero amount of media from the stone ages of entertainment that was only preserved through dumb luck, much of it from people who copied it during broadcast.

I'm sure some of this streaming stuff is being bootlegged.  But, like, was Quibi's Reno 911! episodes copied?  Could we end up with a second "dark age" of lost media?  I like to think that the studios, production companies, etc.  are storing all of this for later, but...

Nintendo Gaming / I own Super Mario Bros.
« on: November 13, 2020, 12:05:33 PM »
I own Super Mario Bros.

I own it on the NES.  On a dedicated cart, in a Duck Hunt compilation cart, and on a compilation cart with Duck Hunt and World Class Track Meet.  Hell, I probably have four or five of the SMB+Duck Hunt carts.

I own it on the Super Nintendo.  Both in Super Mario All-Stars and the +Super Mario World version.

I own it on the Game Boy Color.  Super Mario Bros. DX.  Twice, actually.  Can't play You vs. Boo without two!

I kinda own it on the GameCube.  I have it in Animal Crossing, although it had to be unlocked with a GameShark.

I own it on the Game Boy Advance, via the NES Classics release.

I own it on the Wii, having a copy of Super Mario All Stars.

I own it on the Wii U, both the Wii Virtual Console version and the Wii U Virtual Console version.

I own it on the 3DS, originally via the Ambassador Program.

I own it on the NES Mini.

I can play it on my Switch via the NES or SNES online option.

I also own an official physical arcade cabinet with the similar yet superior Super Mario Bros. Vs. (which I also own on the Switch via Arcade Archives).

I have no shortage of options for playing Super Mario Bros.

So why the hell did I just buy *two* SMB Game and Watches?

I decided to watch the 1992 animated X-Men series - I haven't seen it since it originally aired.  It... does not hold up as well as I would have hoped, but it is still enjoyable.  The fact it's very much not episodic and a kid's animated show from the early 90s helps a lot.

However, the episodes are very much out of order, with events being referenced that hasn't happened yet and Jean Grey's funeral episode taking after her return in the Dark Phoenix four-parter.

Taking a break from it, I remembered there being an X-Men themed episode of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, so I decided to watch it.  Also not an amazing show, but fun.  However, I noticed an episode was missing - like, they just went from 12 to 14.  Google tells me there's a Red Skull episode with plenty of Hitler and Nazi references.  Shame they've hidden it away.

The box does show ramps.

I wanna know how big you can make the course.  I have a dead mall near me... wonder if I could get in...

I'm super satisfied. Once Waluigi is in I can die with many regrets.

Fixed that for you.
