^So do I!  And then the WHOLE WORLD would know that I got 999999999 Bells in Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing: Wild World!

But then again the whole world would also probably know that I can't beat F-Zero GX...  ;_;

Well, if we're talking about the Wii, then the whole world would see my pathetic Wii Sports bronze medals...

NWR Feedback / RE:Some of the "True" ads verge on porn...

The reason why I haven't been here much is because I'm usually here while at work, and since we moved offices, my monitor is now facing OUTWARD where EVERYBODY can see what I'm wasting my time on.

Everybody does it, but I'd prefer there to be less of the sexy ads while I'm surfing at work.

I don't know why I currently get sexy ads at work, and unsexy ads at home.  If ads are necessary, I would much rather be bombarded with stuff about some crappy screensavers or some diploma thingy than busty chicks.

There's a little-known sequel to Zombies Ate My Neighbors.  It's called Ghoul Patrol, I think.  Must not have been as good if all you hear about is ZAmN.

What a bunch of whiners.  Blame the games.  Sheesh!

Movie attendance is down because of video games, supposedly.  I used to work at Playdium, where it was often discussed that any video arcade (or variation of one) had low attendance because of home video games.  And, of course, violence, particularly among young people.  Dumb, dumb, dumb.

But they're blaming Nintendo specifically for their bad toy sales?  As already mentioned, that's another PR boost for Nintendo!  :P

Toys ARE pretty cool these days, actually.  Some of them, anyway.  Maybe 'cause I don't remember anybody having Power Wheels when I was a kid.  I was totally into Transformers (G1), but that took a while to slow down even after I got a NES.

The first two Zelda games are freaking hard.  I thought it was because I was young when I first played them, but even going back to them recently, I can't finish them.  >_<  Some Zelda fan I am!  I keep getting killed in the sixth or seventh dungeon in the First Quest of The Legend Of Zelda, and I keep getting killed on the way to the final dungeon in Zelda II.

For the most part, every game after that is a cinch to finish, I'm only missing certain unnecessary-for-completion-of-the-story type of things like catching the Hylian Loach in Ocarina Of Time and some Kinstone match-ups in Minish Cap.

Why are we talking about Zelda?  I thought we were complaining about Capcom.  I'm guessing someone started this by complaining about Minish Cap or something.

Spak-Spang, I know you really hate my nit-pickiness, but "X-Men: Children Of The Atom" is the name of the X-Men fighting game in the arcades and PlayStation, which led to X-Men Vs. Street Fighter and then the Marvel Vs. Capcom games.

What you likely mean is the brawling game simply titled "X-Men".  Yeah, that was fun too.

I'm sure you'd be pissed if you actually had control over licensing issues, fought tooth and nail to get Children Of The Atom on the VC, only to find out at the end that you brought the wrong game over.  :P

There were MANY brawling games around that time, yet we all loved X-Men and Ninja Turtles.  I'd say the initial appeal is the licensing (we're all guilty of it, I suppose), before we get to Ian's point about them being good games despite that.  I'm sure we didn't initially walk into the arcade going, "Oooh, look, a Konami game!  Get off that lame Combatribes game so we can play a REAL arcade brawler by the makers of Castlevania and Contra!"  Honestly.  We saw Ninja Turtles and that's primarily why we went for it.

I remember it being a big deal that my mom spent over $20 on me and my brother to finish TMNT in an arcade at West Edmonton Mall.  They had a special for $0.22 per quarter token that day.  Now $20 won't get you very far in any game.  Well, I suppose if you're really good at a fighting game, fine, but games have been too expensive in the arcades for the past several years.  I miss the good old days.  ;_;  The Virtual Console would bring back a lot of memories if it had some arcade games, as when she didn't want us to spend all day on the NES, my mom dragged me and my brother with her shopping, where we spent a lot of time at arcades as well.

Has anyone tested that out yet?  Does it really work?  I would guess that's more likely than it NOT working, but is it easy enough to not seriously truly screw up my Miis?

I don't have a Bluetooth adapter, and I'm not going to get one just for this.

If I gave my Bluetooth-equipped friends my Wii Console #, could they grab my Miis from the Mii Parade, put them in their own Mii Plaza (or I could send them directly, if I'm able to send ones that appear to not be mine), put them up on their own Wii Remote, use the programs mentioned to tweak the Mii's Wii Console #s and/or MAC address to my current ones, and then send them back (or at least put them where I can grab them back via the Mii Parade)?  Might that work?

Would that affect my Wii Sports records in any way?  I suppose I ought to test with Miis I don't care too much about, assuming that plan works at all...

That makes sense.  Capcom and Konami have been around long enough and made a name for themselves, as well as now having their own major franchises, so they don't need to do licensed stuff as much anymore if even at all.  T*HQ probably only survives because of stupid parents who buy games based on recognition from other sources, particularly popular animated films.

Does licensing become an extra hurdle (and if so, how much of one) when releasing games on the VC?  For example, Capcom gave us Street Fighter II already, and Mega Man games should be there at some point, since they totally own them, but will there be more difficulty in bringing Duck Tales, Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers, their sequels, and other Disney games that they did?  The Magical Quest games on the Super NES and Super Famicom got GBA rereleases so I'm hoping the good NES-era ones see rereleases at some point, too.  I guess the thing is that Mickey & friends are timeless classic Disney characters but Darkwing Duck (NES) and Gargoyles (Genesis) depended on being released alongside their TV shows, both of which got cancelled.   Point being, that paying again for licensing fees and/or doing related paperwork might not be worth it if people don't buy those based on current TV popularity alone.

Blink.

But then that's the C64 version...unless you mean the C64 version of the arcade game, but isn't that somewhat redundant?  And then what if the original poster (don't know who since it wasn't quoted) meant the arcade version specifically, not the NES or other ports of the arcade game?

Turtles In Time was cool, too.  The Super NES port (TMNT IV) looked decent.  Couldn't finish the Genesis game, Hyper Stone Heist, though.

Were licensed games actually better in the past, or was it because we were young and accepted anything?  Will the current generation of young'uns today actually have fond memories of the Ninja Turtles/Bratz/SpongeBob SquarePants/Over The Hedge/Ice Age/Shrek games of today?  I would hope that fans of the current and recent Ninja Turtles iterations can actually enjoy the TMNT games that we (those of us in our mid-20s, that is) grew up with.  I was already a teen by the time Power Rangers was at its peak with Mighty Morphin, and the Fighting Edition game on the Super NES was actually worth some of my time.

Awesome, as the rope-gun tripping/flipping thing is in the opening of Separate Ways, meaning that it's in the PC version.  Now I don't have to miss out.  There's often a way out of getting a PS2 game, or a PS2 version of a game (considering that I don't have a PS2).  That way is usually a PC port, sure...  (PC and GameCube FTW!)

After I get the game, I'll probably be asking for a system save file that has Separate Ways unlocked if I can't make the time to replay the main game.  Still, I guess it's one of those games that's worth replaying, if only to see glimpses of Ada in the context of the story (rather than drooling over the .MPEGs or .AVIs on the disc)...

I think you mean "Ted, and Matt the cop".  I think Matt's been making many poor decisions, or just thrown into really bad situations, but they'll get some answers next episode.  Or they'll get somewhere with Mr. Bennet, anyway.

I always figured that Peter's dream wasn't literal, or that it won't pass...I mention that since Simone was in that dream...(besides the fact that some characters seem to be standing around pointlessly even when Peter and Nathan are aware of the danger.)

Hopefully Ando's not written off.  Maybe he'll come back and help Hiro somewhere somehow?  And did you catch the Stan Lee cameo?  It's about as big as in most Marvel films, and he actually has a line.

Agreed, I would buy some of these figurines if they weren't so expensive.
The limited production runs mean that they're not so expensive for you.  As in, buy two, and then a few years down the line, sell one of them for three times the original price on eBay.  Some crazy collector will think it's worth it because there are so few of them.

At least, in theory.  If I wasn't at work I might confirm the prices of previous statues at eBay.

So does the PC version have Separate Ways, or no?

Though I don't remember passwords like that for Kid Icarus.  The next thing you know, "JUSTIN BAILEY" won't be in Metroid.  o_0

Upon receiving my Wii back from Nintendo of Canada, I immediately checked the serial number.  It was different.  I was a little alarmed at first, until I figured that maybe they just transferred all my info onto a new Wii, rather than fixing my original Wii (it had speckles in areas with long draw distances and lots of light, mostly noticeably in outdoor areas in Zelda).

I still had to reconfigure my Wi-Fi settings and do a very large update and redownload my VC games (for free), but nearly everything else was indeed there, transferred from my original Wii; saved games, VC saved games, Miis, Wii Points, Photo Channel records, Address Book entries, Internet Channel bookmarks, Forecast Channel region settings, console nickname, well, pretty much everything I could think of was there.  Except only two things (other than the serial number), one of them major.

1. My Wii console # is changed.  That's okay, I only gave it to three people, so I'll simply give it out again.  I can see their Miis in the Mii parade, so maybe they don't actually have to reregister me.

2. This is the big one.    I CAN'T EDIT MY MIIS!    It says I can't edit a Mii I didn't create.  This is probably because this is a different Wii, and the Wii console #s are probably in the Mii data so that they can't be edited except on the same Wii they were made from.

I have 45 Miis, four of them are family members, and me and my brother have [PRO] status in several Wii Sports.  I don't want to delete those Miis' records, but what if I ever want to edit any of my Miis again?  I might have to delete and recreate them!

My brother asked for the repair originally, so he's referencing the repair number as well as both the serial numbers and both the Wii console #s of both of the Wiis.  Hopefully Nintendo can change all our Miis (remotely) so that they'll be editable again.

EDIT: Speaking of editing, my spelling all went in the gutter...  >_<

If the cut scenes are just videos, maybe they can be viewed or extracted for viewing relatively easy.

Ada's legs will be more clear in the apparent daytime.

Now that you've reminded me, GoldenEye 007 DID have a good single-player mode AND a good multiplayer mode.  Just because Halo's single-player is weak and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes's multiplayer is weak shouldn't mean that a game with both modes done well couldn't be done again.

I think that would be supercool
I was actually thinking earlier that it would be cool if Ridley was an available player (he'd have to be weaker to compensate for his flight and speed, etc., however, he already is a larger target).  After all, there aren't many recurring characters in Metroid...

I like your idea of Capture The Metroid.  A simpler version with Ridley could involve grabbing the baby Metroid's canister.  It could be a reenactment of the escape from Ceres at the beginning of Super Metroid except that the "Samuses" are able to keep up with the "Ridleys" and the winner is the one who reaches the elevator while carrying the baby Metroid.  Or something.
