Nintendo Gaming / RE: LOZ: 2005
« on: January 24, 2005, 11:39:04 AM »
Yeah...thats one thing I didn't like about WW, was that it insisted the games were tied together somehow.  I liked the fact that the Zelda games had no continuity.  The biggest disappointment I had with WW was when I found out it was connected back to OOT.

Alas, since I hardly think Ninty is going to drop the trend now, I think 2k5 will take place after WW...the flood years do not need to be told...that story had it's end with WW.  To go back would comprimise the story for the sake of pleasing the audience.

Let it be the true sequel to WW and be little C-e-l-d-a all grown up.  Into a bishy Link, but a grown up Link nontheless.

Well, considering WW supposedly took place a few hundred years after OOT, I don't think they are going to change the plotline leading up to WW by retcon'ing the new game into their attempts at Storyline.

I personally think, with this new direction they've taken in making the OOT and WW "canon", that LOZ2K5 is going to be the WW Link all grown up, in another land and all that.  Or, just a few hunded more years down the road.

Man...Hyrule is perpetually in the dark ages.  Sucks to be them.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Nintendo Revolution, Discuss it here!

Apparently, the same guy who leaked the DS spec sheet (which was spot on, if I remember correctly) also leaked this info about the Revolution.

And, it's gone HD-DVD.  Take that, Sony.

Backwards compatibility YES!

Woo!  This rocks.

I don't really care for the video, but the mp3 bit rocks.

Now I just have to get my hands on some of those badass NintendoDS headphones.

Man...it sucks living in the Southwest.  We don't ever get stuff like this near here.

However, I am up for flying to Chicago come February.

Ok...

No one in this thread had actually said what you're all implying.

Let me play the "Uninformed American Idiot" and ask this question.

Is PoP 2 a bad game? Is it even rent worthy?

You know, I can't help but agree.  I think thats the biggest selling point the game has, really.

I dunno...if this game has half the character and wit the first one did, they'll find a way to make the touchscreen intrinsic to the game while making it more than just a touch based menu system, I'm sure.

Geez people, one persons opinion of a game doesn't make it bad or good.

There is no accounting for taste, dig?

Yeah...your friend has no idea what he's talking about.

Now, the GC has a noticable lack of online play, and maybe thats what he meant by multiplayer...but the games are not shorter, nor is there a lack of multiplayer as HC said.  The GC disc size in no way represents what it can hold, which is where I think he may have gotten that idiotic idea of "shorter games".

I knew something was up when I heard a review for Halo 2 on NPR.

I hadn't realized the attitudes have changed so much latley.  The majority of my friends either don't play videogames or will play anything, so I've been rather sheltered from the common persons perceptions of gaming as a whole...but I don't think Sony can be counted out just yet.  They have a huge presence in the market, and I've noticed a disparity in the size of the PS2 game selection and the GC's at Walmart and Kmart and the like.  For Sony to drop out of the race like some of you guys have predicted, they would have to screw up on a level that would make Sega's record look spotless.

As happy as I would be to see Sony crash and burn, I just don't see it happening any time soon.

Whats this I hear about Sony supposedly "forgetting" to put cooling fans in the new slim PStwos?  Vicious rumor, or hilarious fact?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: A Zelda, staring Zelda?
« on: December 04, 2004, 08:56:33 AM »
I wouldn't mind playing as Zelda for once.  That's one thing I didn't like about WW...she starts out as this strong, active character, the captain of her own ship and actually doing something, and then she gets taken out of the picture completley and reduced to a simpering, stereotypical female!  "Stand back, little lady, it's the mens time to work now." I was so disappointed.

Hell, it's been established Zelda is practically a ninja (Woh-pah!).  Link could be off doing something somewhere else and Zelda has to take up the defense of the home front and all that.  It'd be a nice change of pace.

And hey, if Peach can get her own game, why not Zelda?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Will FF7 be possible on DS?
« on: December 04, 2004, 04:04:30 AM »
As cool as it would be to have a portable FF7, and as feasible as it may or may not be...I really don't see this happening.  I'm sure Sony fought tooth and nail to keep SE solely on their side, and I would bet money that they would do anything to keep a bestselling game like FF7 from going to the competition.

Er...how much stake does Sony have in SE's console decisions, anyways?

Still...if those facts are correct, I don't see why they couldn't do it.  Or, go the CT route and turn the FMV's into animated sequences.  That'd free up alot of space.

I'm torn.  Are the games any good?

My...long time allegiance to Sega demands I go and buy these.  Yet...I dislike McDonalds.  Really, really dislike McDonalds.

I'll just swallow my pride and buy them through the drive through.

I had purchased Origins when it first came out...I only played it for a bit, and then let my friend borrow it.

And then she promptly lost it.  So...methinks that was just a divine suggestion that I need it on a portable.  'Tis a sign from above...I need Dawn of Souls....
