The same reason I'd recommend that someone read Riddly Walker.  The book is nearly impossible to read at first, but well worth the work and effort you put into it.

Some classics you gotta work for.

Right.  Thats it.  I was doing a damn good job of not buying this game, but Tycho's post at PA, coupled with this thread, has pretty much killed my resolve.

Bastards.  All of you. =P

Any staff response as to why you guys shunned BG&E?  Sure, it was short as hell, but thats no reason to dismiss it...is it?

Sonic Adventure 2 belongs nowhere near this list.  It belongs on no list save for the "Slightly fixed version of a broken game" list.

I just realized another Dreamcast game that deserves to be on here.  Skies of Arcadia.

Fo reals.

What?!  No Beyond Good and Evil on best Multiplatform?  Or are you going to do more "Best of Multiplatform" tomorrow as well?

Fo reals.  If BG&E doesn't get any recognition, I am going to write SUCH a letter.

About damn time.

I'm secretly hoping they didn't spend alot of that time retooling it with Wii specific controls, and we can just play it old school with a sideways wiimote.

I did a mass purchase and got SMB, Toejam and Earl, Street Fighter II, and Castlevania IV.

Oh man, I missed Toejam and Earl.  Such an awesome game.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Twilight Princess Spoiler Discussion Thread

Thats what I'm saying!

Alright, if the entire reason that Midna destroyed the mirror was just so she wouldn't have to watch Link get all lovey dovey with someone else, then thats just crappy storytelling.  Considering how well crafted the story was, it doesn't make sense to have a glaring plot hole like that in the epilogue.

Which, as an author, brings one thing to mind...the story isn't over.  I'd consider that incredibly stupid if not for this article I just read here http://www.nintendolife.com/articles/2006/11/06/downloadable_content_for_twilight_princess

I still don't like it.  I hardly think Midna would have done something so significant as to break off the connection between the two worlds forever (as far as she knew) just to say "I'm sorry Link, I don't think it'll work out between us." I admit that may have been a part of it, but its hardly the entire reason.

I was halfway hoping the japanese version might explain it a little bit better, but probably not.

Hardly!  Link didn't cry when he first realized Ilia wasn't dead, unlike when he saw Midna was alive.

Sides, its hardly a reason to cutoff the only pathway to an entire world with whom you've just made REALLY good friends with the leaders of, ya know? The threat was over, everyone is happy, and trade could have flourished between the two kingdoms.  Fo reals.

So, not to just totally ignore Bill's answer as to why Midna broke the goddamn mirror, but I was wondering if anyone else had any theories as to why she did it.

I mean, could it be cause hylian/twili crossbreed babies would look really really creepy?

Back during my Sega Genesis days, EA was one of the first companies I recogized on a routine basis, and I actually found myself associating their old school logo with really good games...

I wonder when that stopped?

Wow...thats a tough choice!  Ecco, or Gilius Thunderhead's Ass Kicking Adventure...

This will consume me for hours.

The only way I can liken this game is with the analogy of the Perfect Song.

Every now and then, you come across a piece of music that has just the right key, the right choral structure, the right....everything.  And the farther you get into the song, the more you realize the composer is doing everything just right...

Thats kinda how I feel about this game.  The further I get in it...the more I feel they couldn't have made it much better, if any at all.  Character designs, puzzles, music, plot, atmostphere....everything just clicks.

I'd say the game has lived up to the hype wonderfully.  The only problem I have is that I can't play it while I'm at work.

Well, and the "You got 10 rupees". all the time.  I could do without that too.

Look at it this way...they barely marketed the DS as anything other than a gaming console, and it still managed to get grabbed up by a significant percentage of nongamers.  Now that Nintendo is specifically marketing it to them, think about the turnaround on that one, eh?  EH?!
