Hell, if I were going to lie about it, I'd at least be an a-hole about it.

"Actually, we have no idea if they're making it or not. We just put it in there to screw with you guys."

I bought the third party "Wii Blaster", which resembles a sawed off shotgun more than anything, and while it looks pretty cool, my arms got real tired, real fast when I used it to play RE4.

Hopefully Nintendo's version won't be as ergonomically backwards as this one.

They had better not skimp on the jpop.

I will be so angry if I don't get bubbly, super kawaii techno to annoy my neighbors with.

General Gaming / PSP - Jeanne D'Arc
« on: September 15, 2007, 02:48:11 AM »

Alright, I recently picked up a PSP (was going to get into homebrew, but my 3.51 FW stopped that pretty quickly), and am in the process of getting some games for it, to tide me over til I get my hands on that fancy battery...

Jeanne D'Arc is basically described as a very good reason to own a PSP right now, basically being the best game on the system at the moment.  I am seriously thinking about picking it up, but...

Well, I tried for a Very Long Time to get into Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance.  I'm talking 20 hours or so of me trying very hard to like it.  I never did.  I took this as a sign that SRPG's aren't for me.  I did, however, enjoy watching my friend play Disgaea.  He was good at it and loved the first FFT, and I seemed to get more enjoyment out of watching him play Disgaea than I ever did playing FFT:A...

What my post is boiling down to is...is Jeanne D'Arc the SRPG for people who don't seem to like SRPG's?  Is it so good that I will play it regardless of my previous experiences with the genre? Or should I stick to Tales of the World and Katamari for now?

TalkBack / RE: PC Engine CD-ROM² Games Announced for Virtual Console

The only reason I was hoping for the PC Engine CD Rom was so I could get some Rondo of Blood action going on...but its going to be available on the PSP next month...

Oh well.  Any other good PCECD games?

« on: June 29, 2007, 05:14:42 AM »
Hey guys!

Don't you remember what happened last time Capcom promised us five exclusive Nintendo games?

Two were cancelled, and the rest ported to the PS2.

With any luck, The Bee Game will be one of the ports this time round.

I'll slide by accident and get an illegal move penalty sometimes.

Thats how I figured out you could slide in the first place.

TalkBack / RE: Sonic RPG? From BioWare? On DS?
« on: June 21, 2007, 03:53:03 PM »
Screw the comic books.

(Herein I reveal my secret inner fanboy)

While the comics do have a huge (too huge) storyline and large cast of characters, if they stuck with the somewhat simpler and very similar old saturday morning cartoon show, they could make a helluvan RPG.

And, since Sega of America was largely responsible for both the comic and the entirely american produced cartoon series (it has nothing to do with the newer, more crappy anime series based on Sonic.)

And considering they somehow sorted out the licensing issues and released the old cartoon on DVD, I don't see a reason why this couldn't work, legally.

If anyone is curious and has no idea what the old cartoon is like, just google satAM, that way you get the more serious, mature version of the two Sonic cartoons that were produced in the early 90's.

...should I go buy it now?

Seriously, this kinda sends the wrong message to developers.  "Don't make good games! Make popular games!"

The GBA has been outselling the PS3 for a while now, hasn't it?  Or am I making that up?

And seriously, do you think Nintendo likes having a shortage.  I expect forced shortages from Sony, but I genuinely believe they are putting them out there as fast as they can, and people are buying them just as fast.

I was actually underwhelmed with Gun.  It wasn't so much short and sweet as 6oz of beer in a 12oz can.

BG&E was like a fine glass of wine, served with a good steak.  It was over too soon, but I did not regret the experience.

Well, the most effective, I mean.

You don't suspect a thing until you have a hello kitty brand knife at your neck, and by then its too late.

Oh man, I am psyched.

I played RE4 so many times I was sick of it, but I am definitely getting this.  Its been a while since I've played it, and unlocking the PS2 extras will definitely be worth it.

Also, I freakin love the Japanese trailer.  Its so corny that its awesome.

Yuji Naka is nowhere near this one.

The original director is on board though, as far as I can tell.

Wait...Bringing a largely popular, established franchise to a Nintendo console is bad?

Hell, you don't have to play it.  Just be glad third parties are paying attention to Nintendo again.
