The author of that editorial completely failed to mention the new media which the games will be coming on (which is the most interesting part of the DS to me).

Reading his post I'm guessing not.  But still even with the ballad of gales, you had to sail a lot.  I wish Nintendo had allowed you to create at least one whirlwind in the essence of Farore's wind from OoT, well maybe next time...

How is it dirty? I don't remember Microsoft killing anyone for it? Or is it just because they're M$?? anyways...

Well what with the monopoly and all... .  But it is not as dirty as it could be, you're right.

I would be interested to see a Metroid movie using the graphics engine from the GCN or better, and directed by Dennis Dyack and SK, those guys have cinematic style.  But then again I'm dying from the drought of SK games.
While we're on the subject, what do you guys think of FFVII:2, the upcoming Square movie?  I say it looks pretty sweet and hopefully Square will get the movie formula right this time.

Although I too think Konami is confusing, I think the Xbox exclusive DDR and SH4 were obtained in Microsoft's usual manner *coughdirtymoneycough*.  The two franchises are huge hits in Japan (where the Xbox is getting slaughtered in sales) and SH4 could be Microsoft's potential Biohazrd 4 killer.  I definitely think Microsoft recognized Konami's greatestness in the Japanese market and 'persuaded' them.
Rob, I've got my fingers crossed for a port of Snake Eater, too.

Draygaia, I am not sure but I think you thought that I was addressing you for my whole post when I meant only for the 1st paragraph to address you (directly, anyway).  If that is how you read my post, it sounds like I'm talking down to you, so I'm sorry, I didn't mean for that to happen at all.  The 2nd paragraph was to the original question.

Draygaia, that means you missed THE SC2 commercial for the GCN.  There was a Link exclusive one that I saw during the MTV music awards (congrats to Ninty...people watch that) that broke down alot of his moves and was entirely gameplay.  Very Sweet and worth the download if you can find it.
As for the "who are you" FF:CC commercial, I don't think that commercial has the ability to interest anyone who wasn't already getting the game.  The problem with "who are you" is that often only people who have read about or played the games get the references, ergo the people who already knew about the game's release date for years, are entertained by the commercial- wrong crowd Nintendo.  I. Sane is completely right and I am so surprised that Nintendo managed to mess up the "Square commercial formula" that has always served Square so well. (Ian broke it down if you don't know what I'm talking about).

I don't know, M_C's idea could work easily if there where fertile places where fish prospered, narrowing the "patchiness" to certain areas only.
Forget under water cam- make the boat transform into a submarine.  Honestly with all that water I thought it was coming... The Sadness.

The FF:CC commercial was OK but it wasn't as good as say the FFX or X2 commercials.  What makes me particularly mad with the "Who are you?" campaign is that Nintendo hides the gameplay of their games.  They all start off with some people doing something mundane and to get the reference to the character(s) often times you need an attention span - BAD ADVERTISING .  Nintendo doesn't have Microsoft's huge pockets to pay for lots of time on the air, so I wish they would just show their games during their air time, instead of people I could see on the street.
Still the "Who are you?" campaign has come away with some good commercials- hats of to Metroid Zero Mission and Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

Although I don't want a huge selection of lures and rods, I think the addition of an expansive fishing mode (or any other mode for that matter) would be great for Zelda as long as it doesn't comprimise the game as a whole.  In WW, I spent some 6 hours fighting Orca alone because it was mindless fun.  The first part of the mode could be playing for the customary heart piece followed by trophies or other incentives to play.  Can you smell hidden NES mini-games? Go on sniff...

Arg, after about a month in the eden of the PGC forums, I'm so angry that I didn't venture into the forums sooner.  I'm a long time PGC reader (about 3 years, not that long compared to others I'm sure) and now I feel like I was robbed of an experience.
Nitsuj, take it from another nitsuj, I smell soooooo good, like ze flowers in ze spring or like ze evergreen hanging from ze rearview mirror... I just lack the in your face smell of new user, like school in the summer time (South Park reference for those who think that was completely random).

Benjamin Moore has a great sale on paint so if you change your mind you can always paint it.  I personally like lead base paint because it is best at sealing up the vents and it traps all the Nintendo goodness inside the console.

Bingo, Mario.  Have you guys seen IGN cube's interview with VP of corporate affairs, P. Kaplan?  Her lips are sealed and I had to smile at how good she was at clamming up and not missing a beat.  But she has been doing it for a while.

Coincidence, nolimit.  I paid 100,000 for a golden GCN.  But it turns out that it was just jet black spray-painted gold. But at least I still have the calming tick-tock of the Rolex I bought from him.

Pokemon's battle system is pretty amazing and has changed a lot yet stayed the same- and that is the beauty of it.
In Sapphire, I remember the first 2 vs. 2 battle in which I KOed my own electric type by having its partner use earthquake.  I was suprised, then angry for three seconds, then I burst out laughing because it actually makes perfect sense.
Anywho, Pokemon is another game that is the epitome of the Nintendo formula- easy to pick up, hard to master.  Honestly Black_Lable (if you haven't left for good), you should give it another honest try.  I know especially, if you lived in the States, they over-hyped and over-merchandised the first games (which actually made me sick) but they stopped that and the games have even gotten better.

I would tend to agree with that myself, although there's no way to know for sure. I think Nintendo could afford at least a test, either towards the end of this generation or at the beginning of next generation.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd rather Sony and Microsoft keep doing all the testing for them, it's free for Nintendo that way.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mario, it is not exactly free if any of their fans wanted to be online right this second and deserted them for another console.  That is money lost, ergo not free.
