Sorry mantidor slipped in some french sans= without.  So GTA without nudity got an M.  GTA SA got an M until they had to recall to upgrade it to an AO when that nudity code/mode was discovered.  As for the Scopes trial, the deep south used to be quite insane in their conservatism to the point it was just radical.  Not unlike religious terrorists today.
Shawnst3r, FDR was lousy?  Are you insane?  He was one of the greatest presidents in US History and his terms in office largely made the US into the prospering country it is today.  The Supreme Courts ideology especially in that time of racial tension was equality.  Not a bad ideology if you ask me...  So to teach Christianity in public school would be unfair to those of other religions.  But I suppose any decision that doesn't interest you and your beliefs are at fault and should be flamed.  I guess you missed the point of the Constitution and the ideals of the founding fathers after all...

Well, mantidor, you have the pleasure of witnessing the kind of person that freaked out due to Janet's 'wardrobe malfunction' in this very thread.  Though it didn't bother me, I see where opponents can say that their impressionable children where watching and it was completely unexpected.  Regardless, if Waluigi can do crotch chops in Mario Strikers and it come in at an E (not E 10 mind you), and GTA sans nudity gets an M - there is no way a Pet simulator could get an AO.  You need nudity for an AO and I don't thing virtual pet nudity counts...

Why would this get an AO rating?  What IF Super Mario Bros. was inspired by 'shrooms (The links are there and everybody jokes about it )?  Drugs are the most kosher of things, but when playing the game you wouldn't even make that connection.  It is the same with Lapis.  Unless you are looking at the developer's initial inspirations for the game, you'd never make the connection.  "Puff the magic dragon" is a kid's song - chew on that one.  If it get released (there doesn't seem to be a lot of content), it will get an E rating.

EDIT: Wow, wow... WOW

Well if you were completely unable to read and write prior to you just deciding this, I'd at least bat an eye lash. All religion is a leap of faith.  Your ignorance on Islam is evident just from the way you spell.  The Qur'an was actually not ever edited once it was collected and even its translation was resisted to maintain that things weren't lost in translation unlike say the Testaments.  Again, the Bible has no known author and I guarantee it was edited many more times then the Qur'an.

The game has no connection to masturbation unless you know its backstory.  As TMV and I said, it is more like a puzzle game about adaptibility involving a rabbit.  Why ban it?  Especially in light of much more seriously deprave video game themes?

I have studied islam and the Qur'an.  It mentions Mary, it mentions Jesus, and God.  I agree utter nonsense.

As for sources, I might the Qur'an has an author and Muslims are very concious of the passing of the text whereas who wrote the Bible?  For somebody criticizing me getting 'my dribble' from some fool, I don't think you realize your hypocrisy.

EDIT: And just because people are disagree with you, doesn't mean they haven't read your post.

It doesn't promote masturbation as previously stated...
I love how every Christian claims that all other religions are false - it is like their thing to do.  Maybe the 11th commandment or something...  Personally I find that all religions have aspects of social control.
Studying a couple of religions myself, I challenge you to analyze Islam as it is a lot more founded in sources than Christianity and I bet if you stop and think you really don't know anything about it...

Ah religion.  The cause of so much drama

Racial/political tensions, war, coming of age etc.. are all generally accepted as mature themes.  Anime more so than american cartoons tend to tackle these issues more often and that is why links are generally made between the RPG and anime.  Presentation, depth and execution has a lot to do with whether the RPG is actually mature or not.  I find it funny that you second Nosferat2 opinions... what exactly are you agree with?  This?:
"I was disappointed with the look of DQ8. I cant get into a cartoony looking RPG that has lil smiley faced slimes as enemies. Sorry im near 30 years old and i need something more mature to play. Not Mature rated but mature content."
Not having played DQ8, i can't comment on how mature it is but it seems like he disqualifies games as mature based on their art direction... real mature...

People when your religousey senses tingle duck.

Actually Thomas Jefferson stressed the separation of church and state... He instituted it in Virgina as the governor so I'd say he believed in it .  Church having a say in government greatly often led to corruption and an undermining of civil government in the past.  Also there were disputes over which denominations were right, etc... so the founders had this in mind when drawing up the constitution.  As for the year of our lord and opening with a prayer, this was common place (I don't even think the idea of Common era had been invented).  Did you know Christmas wasn't made a federal holiday until 1870?  Oh nos!  Founding fathers!
What made the US the greatest country (debatable) on Earth today is that WW2 weakened all the other world powers except for Russia and then the Cold War got Russia.
ShawnSt3r, it stopped being a game about masterbation.  There are no sexual references anymore.  So far, you are the owner of Lapis, the bunny, and giving it affection (petting it DON'T PET your PETS and other actions) will make Lapis happy.  To get Lapis happy, you need to try doing different things - again it is more a puzzle game inspired by the intrincasies of the female.

Though i thought is was quite good over all, EVEN with the card battle system, it still irritated the hell out of me when the games hero yells out lame stuff like, "Say Cheeseburger". In fact all the characters had dumb stuff to say. And one had a boat ore as a weapon for christ sake. Sorry give me Excalibur or Muramasa (sp) blade Not a damn Ore, boomerang or any other stuff that appears in Japanese Rpgs.
Also, Im not bashing Anime rpgs. People love them and they should get to play them. I just dont want to be left out.

peace Nosferatu

I don't understand where you are coming from at all.  What constitutes mature to you?  I'm assuming photorealistic graphics.  Tales of Symphonia was both better storywise and gameplay wise and had a complex story to boot.  Skies of Arcadia though a port even surpasses the cliched Baiten Kaitos in all departments.  You also keep making jabs at Fire Emblem where 'kids' are forced into battle by circumstance.  It is fine if you can't get into that but if you are so juvenile that you can't appreciate anything but photorealism, stop throwing the word mature around.  It offends the rest of us.

Speaking of Skies of Arcadia, Overworks would be an awesome 2nd party as would Amusement Vision

Hmm... my religiousey senses are tingling...

Technically this is a puzzle game inspired by sex.  It is no different from Miyamoto being in the shower and coming up with the idea for FLUDD or whatever.

My bad.  I know the difference between an Mb and an MB, but I truly thought it was a 256MB cart.
From the preview videos I've seen, this Zelda does seem to be more heavy in videos for things that establish the atmosphere (taunting monkeys, boar boss riding away and boulder moving).

Nintendo does use linear cinema in Zelda games and it looks to be more so in this one.  If WW was only 300MB that is truly amazing.  I thought OoT took up most or all of the larger 256MB so for WW to only be ~50MB more is crazy.  I don't know if compression on carts is more limited, but I'd assume going for photorealism is that much more information.

Tales of Symphonia had 2 discs and I want to say every place that was accessible on disc 1 was accessible on disc 2.    I'm no expert on splitting games onto multiple discs but I've seen a couple of examples where being multidisc didn't restrict the game's freedom.

Nintendo has eaten quite a bit of humble pie and has comment even on their choice of media.  Would it really matter though, since it is the last forray for the GCN?
I don't really care as long as no compromises to the game are made due to the inclusion of the Rev features... if this rumor is true (but nobody at PGC seems to be denying or even admiting as a rumor : O).

How would the extra features affect how much gameplay could be fit on the Zelda disc?  If Nintendo truly wants this to be worth a damn, they are going to have to flesh out a stellar control scheme.  If it is simple translation of buttons inputs to motion, it isn't a big deal - but at the same time that is just emulation and a wasted effort.  From all reports, the Revmote is amazingly precise and as such I'd imagine the more complex nature of input would require its own coding.  It would be a travesty if dungeons had to be cut out of a Zelda game again due to outside interference.

It would be cool though if this was the first first party game that was multiple discs.

It is an impossible topic, really.  Any company with some talent and creativity could become this super second party.  I'm guessing though with the increased cost of game development, small studios are becoming more and more rare (ha ha ha).  It would be nice if Nintendo could restock on some 2nd party talent for the new generation so that there are more games with Nintendo's quality, especially now that they are driving the free hand controller idea.

SFA's linearity was especially restricting due to its item collection.  For example, the first time I beat Ocarina of Time, I beat the Fire Temple before the Forest Temple without even getting the Bow and Arrows which is out of order.  In Zelda, there are just so many more sidequests and expansions to find in which you have to go off the 'main' path to get. (Metroid too)
I guess Fox is a dog and must be kept on a leash...

It was a linear Zelda rip off which shamed previous Star Foxes by having minute long flying missions, the battles were so boring since the enemies were polite enough to wait their turn to attack you, many of the surrounding characters were annoying or had annoying voices, and the ending was a freeking travesty.  How could you build up General Scales, give him his own f'ing language and then interrupt his fight?
The problem with SFA's collection is that except for those tokens, you needed to collect everything to move on - I think it is next to impossible to not get 100%...  Technically the game is great, but i didn't find the game enjoyable, if that makes sense.

I have some mixed feelings on this... I have no problem with the game being delayed to make it workable.  I was not impressed with the supposed April release of Zelda, as a GCN owner.  But to hold onto TP for an extra 7-8 months to add forward functionality seems ridiculous to me.   I like that Nintendo is trying to make the Gamecube last, but the effort almost seems wasted.  I suppose it is good that they are keeping their promise that Zelda will be released on GCN.
I would have less of a problem though if Zelda could be released in say July with the forward functionality.

It is probably designed that way so people can't cheat and make copies of pokemon.  They did the same thing with FZero... what the logic was behind that one was, though - I have no idea.

Ruby, I never said acronym.  I said abbreviation.  Check out these ones:
AZT is an abbreviation for the name azidothymidine.
Lysergic acid diethylamide, better known as LSD.

Nintendo should protect their trademark, but the scientists I'm sure abbreviated it the way they did, so it would be easier to remember (and their pun-centered sense of humor I was talking about earlier likely came into play as well).  It is probably idiotic journalists that took notice.

Well the tip off was really that EWT doesn't understand the significance of Zooming in swapping mechanism - therefore my hypothesis in my previous post.  Ice, I honestly don't think most of those games you just mentioned were particularly innovative concepts either...
