I don't see the need to bundle Wii MotionPlus when most games will not use it (or at least not require it). I think Nintendo sees this too. Not to mention the fact that they would lose out on a lot of money. Donkey Kong 64 came out in 1999 and required it too.

Also, dozens of N64 games made use of the Expansion Pack (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_64_accessories#Expansion_Pak for some).

You are not gonna convince me to support illegal drugs. While their is some minor legit use for hemp, there is no legit reason to smoke it (there are other medications available for people who claim to need it for pain).

Quote from: Wired.com
Speaking exclusively to Wired.com, however, he said that he’s pushing the game’s developers to create a Zelda experience that requires the extra features.

“The goal at this point is that we would make Wii MotionPlus required in order to play Zelda,” he said.

It’s reasonable to assume that Zelda’s use of MotionPlus might depend on how many of the devices Nintendo sells between now and the game’s far-off release date. But Miyamoto says that’s not actually the case.

“The bigger hurdle for us is not really whether people have a Wii MotionPlus or don’t have it, it’s whether or not the experience is one where people will think they want to have a Wii Motion Plus in order to experience it,” he said.

more of the interview at the link above.

But it looks like Zelda Wii will most likely require M+, so hopefully that means that Nintendo will start bundling it in with the system.

If that is true, it's completely opposite of what Miyamoto said at the roundtable. He had said the next Zelda would only use Wii MotionPlus if enough people had it.

I don't see Nintendo including Wii MotionPlus ever with the system. Don't forget (as Stratos said) that The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask required the N64 RAM Expansion Pack in order to play it buy Nintendo didn't bundle it with the system. Whenever Nintendo sells a game that requires a accessory they just bundle it with the accessory.

I actually don't mind cutscenes, if they are skippable. It is so annoying dying and having to watch a long cutscene again, or replaying a game and having to watch it again when I just want to play the game.

I remember reading a story in Rolling Stone where the writer just had to say they were in pain and the doctor just gave him a prescription (without actually running any tests or exams). It does seem a little to easy to get a medical prescription for marijuana in California. I don't think medical use should be allowed either.

Ymeegod, I can't find any tracking organization named "VGS". Whatever that is, I doubt it's reliable. NPD numbers are accurate and reliable and universally accepted by those in the industry. I also doubt that the Xbox 360 version of UFC 2009 only sold 250K. It sold 679.6K copies, fact.

Also, do you drink beer? Cuz I hate how Seth MacFarlane makes alcohol use look acceptable. /end stupid statement

Here's the difference: one is legal and one isn't. Please don't tell me you support illegal drug use?

Marijuana is not illegal. atleast not in California.
State law says its legal to possess, grow and use.

Only if they have a medical prescription (which shouldn't be allowed either).

Most Metroid fans I have seen loved the Metroid Prime games. The people who didn't like it are definitely in the minority. I hope that after "Metroid: Other M" the next 3D Metroid returns to the Prime formula.

"Goblin Commander: Unleash the Horde" from Jaleco. It got pretty good reviews and looked nice.

The Wii is significantly farther down that route than any Xbox.

Accessories are not the same as add-ons. The Wii hasn't had anything that could be considered an add-on (except maybe Wii MotionPlus).

Part of the reason stuff like Sega CD and Sega 32X failed is that they were pretty expensive (Sega CD was almost as expensive as the Sega Genesis itself). This is the same problem Microsoft is facing with Natal's rumored price.

I honestly don't see Natal becoming anything more than niche. It will see some support (even crap systems like CD-i and N-Gage got some third party support), but I don't see it becoming popular enough to be a big deal. Don't get me wrong, it looks interesting to me. A combination of price and what appears to be a distance problem (if you really need to be about 6 feet away, that will be a big problem for anyone who has their system in a spot with small spaces. I can't even do stuff like push-ups in Wii Fit because I don't have enough space in my room) will keep it from becoming the success Microsoft thinks it will be.

I don't think controls are a problem. The camera looks like it could register you walking forward by just walking in place, you move your hands like you are aiming a gun to aim in the game and you make a motion like you are pulling a trigger to fire. I don't know if this would work in split-screen, but by yourself I see no problem.

I loved that Hyrule. If they clean it up a little (make the graphics specifically for the Wii), I would love to re-visit it. Twilight Princess was the best Zelda game and I loved that version of Hyrule (although I will admit that I didn't love the Twilight Realm, except the castle at the end of the game).

That is why Sakurai (and many SSB gamers) want a deeper single player in the game. Sakurai knows that there are a lot of people who like the game but don't have anyone to play against and it can get boring facing the computer over and over.

In Europe Nintendo gives both Wii Sports and Link's Crossbow Training regular Wii game cases (or at least they did the last time I checked). I have no idea why Nintendo of America is so damn cheap that they choose to give us tiny cardboard cases. I'm surprised they didn't pull the same crap with Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii.

It takes a long ass time, I have broadband but it took me about 8 hours to download just 1 part of the 3-part Sony press conference (each one was about 1.5 GB). I think the complaint is how slow downloading anything on the PS3 is, not whether you can do something else at the same time (although some downloads, like system updates and updates for Home and other programs, don't allow for background downloads).

10+ years of development is beyond ridiculous. I (and most people I suspect) stopped caring about the game many years ago and would only care if they ever actually finished it. 3D Realms have to be the most incompetent developers in the history of video games.

I never get the argument about lack of keyboard and mouse. The console have USB slots, so publishers could allow keyboard and mouse support for their console games if they wanted to (though Microsoft would probably require you to buy an officially licensed keyboard/mouse while Sony would probably let any USB keyboard/mouse work).

I think Final Fantasy XI has been the only console MMO to do decent sales numbers (not that there have been that many console MMO's). Yes StarCraft II is still PC exclusive and it will probably stay that way.

Console execs trolling the competition is nothing new. Sony has done it constantly when someone talks to them about the DS killing the PSP (a Sony exec responds by saying crap like "the DS is a toy"). No one listens except the fanboys who love hearing the competition get put down.

I don't think anybody was expecting Final Fantasy XIV to be a MMO. Heck, it was a surprise just to see it announced at all (I laughed when Sony said it was PS3-exclusive and Square Enix later said that was false).

I wonder how many people buy LCT just to get the Wii Zapper. It's a pretty fun game though and more than worth the $20 (I waited till I found a store that was selling it at $20 since that is the MSRP, most stores seem to be selling it for $25).

30K combined? That is pretty bad, almost enough to call it a bomb. I will wait and see how it does in June though. I don't think I saw ANY advertising for the game (not even any videos on GameTrailers).

I meant to say 20, not 10. Still 4 of the Wii's top 10 selling games in May were workout games. I wonder what that says about the average Wii owner.

So are workout games the new mini-games collection games? The Wii has 3 workout games in the top 20 this month (and I bet Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009 is in the Wii top 10).
