TalkBack / RE:Manhunt 2 Receives Preliminary AO Rating from ESRB
« on: June 19, 2007, 02:51:01 PM »
Would Sony and Nintendo allow the game if it got an AO rating? I was under the impression that both Nintendo and Sony didn't allow AO rated games on their systems.

If they would, then I hope T2 has the balls to go ahead since it would be the first AO rated game released (not counting the hot-coffee incident, which was BS anyways since dry humping should be a M rating at most).

People may slam these crap licensesd games, but they usually sell very well. Besides, the market leader always gets tons of licensed crap (especially in Europe, where Sony legally has to allow crap like any game from Phoenix Games).

Hmm. I have a very limited game budget, I am starting to get very interested in the game now (even more so if I can use the USB mic in future karaoke games on Wii).

Magical Quest - Starring Mickey Mouse would be a great addition, although they seem to be pretty content on bringing up a lot of dreck featuring Hannah Montana and Zack and Cody instead...

I think they would need Capcom's approval as well since Capcom developed and published the SNES game (Nintendo published the GBA version). Disney didn't really start making their own games until a few years ago.

I just want a karaoke game. I suppose it might still be worth it if it's a USB mic and can be used on other similar games (like Boogie, and any future Karaoke Revolution games). I don't want to spend $60 if the mic is only good for this game.

This isn't the Xbox 360 and PS3 (where console owners are used to getting screwed with prices), why is the Wii version $10 more than the PS2 version? The only way that could be justified is if the game has a lot more songs and looks nicer.

It's just a  rumor (one that I hope is false since IGN gets a lot of things wrong). I hope that Project H.A.M.M.E.R. (the correct spelling) does come out because it looked fun at E3.

Giving away a free keychain doesn't justify charging $50 for what is obviously a budget game. I thought about getting the game if it was $30 or less, but the $50 pricepoint wiped those thoughts away.

I love Transformers, but the move looks like it will be crap IMO. I will wait for reviews on the game though, because the game could be pretty good.

Anybody have a Ho-Oh? I can offer a Master Ball in return, in addition to most Pokemon that can be bred. I already have credit for owning Ho-Oh (after a temp trade), but I would actually like to have one. If you don't need a Master Ball, I can also offer an Exp. Share.

Yes. The NES launched in October 1985 in New York, followed by Los Angles in February 1986. It wasn't until Fall 1986 that it went national and Super Mario Bros. was released. Eventually the NES did stop being bundeled with SMB, although it was bundled with Super Mario Bros. 3 as well.

Maybe the 500K number was just for North America, but I do remember them announcing that shipment number for somewhere. The Xbox 360 is basically dead in Japan and only doing so-so in Europe (outside of the UK, since it does pretty well there), so sales numbers outside of North America are almost a non-factor.

They've only done 1 Wii commercial (for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End). It's not that bad, although it could be better.

I guess we will have to wait and see if the games will be good or just more crap.

Nobody should EVER use NexGenWars or VGChartz. Both sites are well known for making up BS numbers and then changing them when the REAL numbers are made known.

Microsoft flooded the market before Christmas so they could say they met their goal of 10 million shipped. That is why they also announced that they would only be shipping 500K Xbox 360's during the entire first six months of 2007.

The Wii has sold about 7.5 million copies already, and at this rate it will easily pass the Xbox 360 worldwide by the end of the year (maybe even by the end of the summer depending on how well it does in North America). It will take a little longer in North America (the only region where the 360 is still doing pretty well), but now it's just a matter of WHEN the Wii becomes #1 rather than IF.

Also, we do get monthly sales data from the NPD. So it's not just Japan that we get regular data from.

Oh, it's pretty interesting that the PS3 has been under 10K in Japan for the last couple of weeks. The PS2 has been out in Japan for over 7 years, and it has only sold less than 10K twice (both times were in November 2000 when the PS2 was suffering a wordwide shortage).

Getting a PS2 just for Sega Genesis Collection would be a waste of money. Golden Axe was pretty bad, was the sequel that mugh better?

I am surprised that we haven't gotten any confirmed games. Usually Hudson Soft have updated their release dates by Sunday night, so I guess we aren't getting any TurboGrafx-16 games. Nintendo has a backlog of NES games that they have released in Europe and not North America, so I wonder if they will do an all-NES update: NES Open Tournament Golf, Donkey Kong Jr. Math,  Yoshi, Mach Rider, Adventures of Lolo, Baloon Fight, Super Mario Bros. 2. I think Nintendo will at least bring some of those tomorrow. So here is what I predict:

Super Mario Bros. 2
F-Zero X
Shining in the Darkness

A couple of times. I will continue to do so, but wouldn't mind getting it from someone here (plus, trading would get me another ID for the lottery). I just spent some time underground, and found some more items I can offer: a Sun Stone, some Thunderstones, a Claw Fossil.

Nope. Deepseatooth can only be found on wild Relicanth, Chinchou and Lanturn. Deepseascale on wild Carvanah and Sharpedo. I have tried (and continue to do so) find them, but none of the wild Pokemon I have encountered have had them.

Nintendo can't even meet current demand, they are selling systems as fast as they ship them. Nintendo isn't even thinking about dropping the price yet (nor should they, it would be a stupid thing to do business-wise).

When they do drop the price, it will most likely be dropped to $230 and Wii Sports removed from the package. I don't see this happening until E3 2008. The system definitely won't be $150 for several years.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Legendary Pokemon Trades Please
« on: June 07, 2007, 09:12:02 PM »
Wish I could help you. The only legendary I have an extra of is Kyogre.

As for Darkrai. Have you checked Serebii? These are what a legit Darkrai should have (assuming the person got it the only official way, and not hacking or through the glitch early Pokemon games had):
Lv. 50 (at least, the person could have leveled it up before trading)
OT: Eigakan
ID: 07147
Is in a Cherish Ball (Cherish Ball is a special Pokeball that only contains a promo event Pokemon and is not available in the game)
Came with a Enigma Berry (unless the person took it before tading)
Comes with a Classic Ribbon
Has "Roar of Time" and "Spacial Rand" as moves.

TalkBack / RE:Turbografx VC Games Coming to Australia and New Zealand
« on: June 07, 2007, 08:59:36 PM »
Releasing TG16 games in Australia is easy though, since they were already released in North America and Europe. MSX games would have to be translated into English, so that would pretty much rule out text heavy games (like RPGs).

Still, Battle Lode Runner was released on the North American Virtual Console (even though the game was never released outside of Japan originally).

Yes, but only because the game isn't out yet in NTSC regions. The game does allow for worldwide play (otherwise Europe and Australia wouldn't be able to play online together right now). Friendly matches allow for worldwide play, while Ranked matches are restricted by continent (to prevent lag).
