True.  It actually played better.

I wonder when the SNES rpg vault will begin to open.  That's a huge amount of money I'll be spending.

Nintendo Gaming / "Save" your progress/VC games
« on: December 16, 2006, 02:35:46 AM »
I don't know if anyone is aware of this.  You can sort of save your progress in, say, Gunstar Heroes or Solomon's Key.  I just stopped Gunstar Heroes on the last level by exiting out to the Wii menu (home button).  Lo and behold, when I started Gunstar Heroes back up, I was at the exact same spot.  I turned the console off, and same thing (not off off, but wiiconnect off).  So it's sort of like the old days where you would leave your NES on all night long so you didn't lose your spot in the game.  Obviously, with games that limit your continues, that limit will still apply, but at least you can play the games in bursts and not try to jam the entire experience into on sitting.

Not a life changing find, but I thought perhaps someone may not know about it.

Probably true, and at $8 a pop, this is the most money Sega has generated since 1990.

I'll say this right now=if this game looks worse than the GC or Xbox version, I will go mental.  A port is one thing, but I never thought ports were supposed to go backwards in graphic quality, only that they would look similar to the console from which it's being ported from.

Everyone calm down...Elebits uses your ADDRESS BOOK.  Pokemon is connected heavily with the DS incarnations, which used a similar password system, so me thinks that's the reason for Nintendo carrying it over to the Wii..

Well I am starting to disagree with all the VC love now, and it was my main feature I wanted in Wii. I was playing Live arcade at my friends house and they have a MUCH better selection of arcade games to choose from.

Do you ever cease with the complaints?  Plus most of them are completely baseless.  For instance:  How long has the Live arcade been around?  How long has the VC been available?  Once you answer those questions, perhaps we won't feel the need to change your diaper on a daily basis.

I thought this was just a hack and slash game?  Or is it a real DQ game in the first person perspective?

Yes...a 90% sure source from the guy who does the VC reviews on IGN.

Nintendo Gaming / If Far Cry is online...
« on: December 10, 2006, 07:03:16 AM »
which is the rumor, who will be buying it?  And if so, is the online portion what swayed you?

As for me, I will buy it if it's online, mainly to play you knuckleheads in deathmatch.  Yeah!

Sub question:  Is it at all possible that Miis would be usable in a 'realistic' game like Far Cry?  I think if they were just mapped over the existing head, they could look cool.  Mii thinks a mii head placed on a normal looking body may be a little weird...

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Is the Wii remote really so unreliable in Zelda: TLP?
« on: December 10, 2006, 07:00:01 AM »
There is a delay when you physically swing the remote as opposed to when the sword on screen mimics it.  It's hardly an issue once you know that.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Games control for Metroid Prime 3 on Wii
« on: December 10, 2006, 06:57:23 AM »
well, to be honest, Metroid has more development time with the Wii hardware.  But Zelda controls pretty f'n fantastic anyway.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Can anyone here make Miis correctly?
« on: December 09, 2006, 08:04:00 AM »
I spend far too much time creating Miis.  James Hetfield (1989 version), Jonathan Davis, George Costanza and all of my friends...I'm just loving it.  Bill sent me a Goomba dude who looks accurate.  And I fouind Pam Beesly and Harry Potter in the parade.

I think the eyes are the most important features to perfect.  Eyes and getting the mouth similar has been key for me.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Nintendo sued for patent infringement on the Wiimote

The lawsuit is pretty much for publicity as far as I can tell.  They must know they have no case...it's absurd really.

I downloaded Solomon's Key.  It's great.

I think it's Neo Geo.  Those games used to sell for $200, so not nearly enough people played them.  It's not like SNK is making any money off them now, so charging $10 on the VC will make everyone happy.  Yes, I know 10 is a little high, but for something pretty rare, I would pay it.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:What more do you think it’ll take?
« on: December 04, 2006, 11:55:49 AM »
All it will take is keeping the product coming while the PS3 languishes behind.  By the time Sony gets up to speed in about a year, the Wii could have 5-8 million consoles in the hands of gamers worldwide.  That basically ensures Nintendo a very successful generation.

SSX Tricky was the pinnacle, but I digress...

I hope these games include Mii import capability, or else I have to question why the characters look like they do.

Mine shipped on the 28th, and I got them the next day.  Still no freaking Wii though...

Well, there's a difference between choosing to not make the game incredibly detailed, and just throwing a piss poor port out there.  It doesn't look all that bad to me, but if it truly looks worse than GC games, I have to question why?  How is it possible to actually degrade a games graphics when all you're doing is porting it over?  I've heard of ports not being tailored to the specific console, not taking advantage of the hardware, but degradation is pretty much unacceptable to me.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Wii Third Party Domination

Capcom and Konami had better come with some AAA titles.  Castelvania being at the top of the list.

Maybe there will be announcements for mid 07 about these big guns.  Would certainly fill in 2007 nicely knowing we had Castlevania and RE coming.
