Nintendo Gaming / RTX cancelled
« on: March 16, 2003, 04:36:58 AM »
On Nintendos RTX :RR page, it says the game is cancelled.  Kind of wierd , considering it was being made for GC first, but now it's only coming to PS2[according to Cube-europe].  I have to say, I don't think it's that big of a loss, but we'll never know now.

General Gaming / EA not supporting Live
« on: March 15, 2003, 11:45:06 AM »
EA has announced that as of right now, they will not support Xbox live.  The reason is they couldn't reach an agreement.  Eidos also has declared MS business practice unfair, and will not support live either.  I read it on Spong.com, so they're pretty sh!tty site, but it does quote both of them.  This might be good for the GC if Nintendo can expand on their 'agreement' with EA .  They should give EA a great deal and get those games online.  Also of note, isn't Eidos responsible for Timesplitters ?  The next installment is supposed to be online, so that could really hurt the xbox.

Nintendo Gaming / Mr Gannondorf, the bell toll's for thee..
« on: March 14, 2003, 11:19:20 PM »
I just beat ZeldaOT for the first time in 4 years.  It is by far the best game i've ever played. Now onto Master Quest.  Hopefully, LOZ:WW will be just as incredible....9 days left!  (yes I realize it's 5:17am EST,  but i'm old and working leaves me with no time whatsoever to rip into my games collection.) yawn...

Nintendo Gaming / Reservoir Dogs for Ps2, X-box and...
« on: March 07, 2003, 07:49:19 PM »
...of course not the GC.   SCI, who developed the 'italian job' games has bought the game rights to Mr. Tarantinos master flick.  If done correctly , this game could be great, but it probably will be done horribly like most movie to game endeavors.  Maybe the Cube will get a port since SCI is porting over 'Italian Job'.  Give me a 'True Romance(Tarantino wrote)' game where you can play as Clarence or Alabama in co-op mode, and then i'll be excited.

Its going to have 2-4 player CO-OP play!  4 players going through the game together would be really fun.

Nintendo Gaming / Disturbing comments-again
« on: March 02, 2003, 09:23:28 AM »
I was reading about 'the Hobbit' over at IGN, and the developer made this comment-

Ken Embery:" I think our opinion from the beginning has been that The Hobbit, as a novel, is a younger story, if you will, than the other Lord of the Rings stories. It's more of a children's story, in our view. And I don't mean to overemphasize that. But it's about Bilbo's beginning adventures in Middle Earth and the thought going into it was that The Hobbit would probably skew to a younger audience, which is also why I believe the decision was made to lead with GameCube. The Mario and Zelda audience has historically been a younger audience and so the art style was derived to take advantage of that target market. "

I know i'm over-reacting, but this is just so tiresome...mario and zelda appeals to the 'Everyone' audience, not children.  Has he ever played either game?  It doesn't sound like it.

Nintendo Gaming / No Mafia for cube
« on: February 27, 2003, 02:24:08 PM »
According to IGN, take-two [gotham games] release list for the cube is Piglets big game[i think] and conflict desert storm.  Mafia will be released for x-box and ps2.  A Serious sam sequal was mentioned, but for the pc.  Question is, what happened to Mafia and the Serious Sam game GC was supposed to get?  Just an oversight on the release list?  Does anyone else remember these games being confirmed, as i do?

Nintendo Gaming / when I attack ver. 1
« on: February 18, 2003, 07:52:55 PM »
This is going to sound pitiful, but what the hey. I am 29 and a life-long Nintendo geek. I had an unusual thought today at the local MS headquarters[EB]. I found myself looking at cube games, picking up Hunter: TR and saying, 'nah, this game got bad reviews' and putting it down. Then it dawned on me. The internet and gaming mags have ruined my favorite past time-video games. It used to be i would buy a game because i liked the premise. To be honest, there weren't alot of reviews available back in the 80's[ugh...] except for Nintendo Power, and that wasn't even a mag. yet, just a pamphlet! I bought many a frustrating game, but i found something in each that i liked, sometimes even adored. That doesn't have a shot in he!! of happening now a days. This is not anyones fault, just the natural evolution of a hobby that became more mainstream, if not expected. But i do remember playing the old NES game, 'Athena' , for hours, even though it was very mediocre....no trading 'em in back then, your stuck with it! So you learned to like every game you purchased and played them until you beat them. Now i cant stand a game , and guess what? Its going back and i get a new one! Some would say thats better, but i'm not so sure. 'Kid Niki' would 've ever got beaten if it was that easy to return games. Or 'Deadly Towers'. Or 'Tag-Team Wrestling'[super champ!] Or 'Wizardry'. You get the point? Todays thoughts brought to you by: ONE ANGRY GAMER

Nintendo Gaming / New EA game...
« on: February 12, 2003, 08:45:38 AM »
Over at IGN in the N-query, someone asks aquestion about ea sports.  IGN goes on to say that EA has a game to be announced shortly for all 3 systems, and 'you'll be happy'.  What could it be?  Not Vendetta, as that was already announced.

Nintendo Gaming / ASB 2004 not online?
« on: February 10, 2003, 07:21:02 PM »
Why wouldn't All Star Baseball feature online play?  Its ridiculous not to have it on the cube.  I'm really getting tired of this.  How hard is it to add?  On another note, did anybody hear about Capcoms Ghosts and Goblins game online?  It sounded pretty sweet, but the platform wasn't revealed.  Hopefully another GC exclusive.

Nintendo Gaming / More Capcom rumors
« on: February 08, 2003, 08:23:31 PM »
Supposedly nintendo will announce that Capcom is a 2nd party at E3. Wish i remembered where i saw it.  It does seem to ad up at the moment if you look at the big picture.  Also, Dino crisis 3 would be the last game to be on another system, but it apparently wont be exclusive anymore.  Hopefully it'll be true.

Nintendo Gaming / Konami's neglect
« on: February 07, 2003, 11:02:15 AM »
I am so fed up with Konami.  Crap game after crap game, and i'm not even including the Disney games. There was supposed to be games coming from Konami mobile 21, but have they even made 1 game yet?  I say no GBA games unless they provide the GC with some good titles.  Like a Castlevania, for instance.
