Though the American Monster Hunter titles offered free online play, the pay-to-play structure has been present in every version of the popular series in Japan.
While this news may be disheartening for some, it should be noted that Christian Svensson of Capcom USA ruled out any possibility of the title releasing in North America.
Players will start the game in the Resident Evil 2 storyline, battling the T-Virus infected local inhabitants of Raccoon City. As in The Umbrella Chronicles, up to two players will be able to defeat the zombie citizens.
Currently no other details are available.
Goddamn it why do publishers insist on telling us the shipping dates of games instead of the actual release date?
The creature creator found in the PC version of Spore will be present in Spore Hero as will the pointer driven editing tools. According to the team, the Wii was chosen due to its pointing functionality, as it allowed them to mimic the PC's editing interface.
While the original Spore title started you off as primordial ooze, in Spore Hero your creature will already be in an evolved state and will arrive on a new planet after its original home planet was destroyed by a catastrophic event. The goal of Spore Hero is to shape this newfound planet into your own through a number of quests and adventures. Players will interact with other creatures on the planet during their adventures in social and combative ways.
The evolution mechanic from the original Spore will be retained, though in Spore Hero to evolve the player will have to complete special "Evolutionary Quests." Once these quests are completed not only will the players creature evolve, it will be able to learn new abilities such as jumping. These abilities will allow the player to reach new areas.
While EA didn't show screenshots of the title, Bradshaw promised that it would suit the Wii well with a "cheerful experience that suits Nintendo's image." Bradshaw also revealed that the team is looking at Wii MotionPlus to provide better motion controls in hopes that they can provide an experience that rivals Nintendo's own efforts on the system.
Spore Hero is set for release sometime this year on Wii.
Don't you have a PS3 that's PS2 compatible?
Yes but I don't want to face the corrupted save games of doom in Persona!
Eric Nofsinger explained to 1UP that the main reason it was dropped is because it didnt improve IR tracking, and ultimately added nothing to the experience. High Voltage hoped that Wii MotionPlus would enhance IR tracking, in addition to enhancing the Wii Remotes motion-sensing abilities. Since Wii MotionPlus logically offers possibilities with melee weapons, they actually prototyped a few melee weapons that would take advantage of the peripheral. However, due to the games June release date there wasnt time to fully incorporate them into the final product. The developers ultimately scrapped Wii MotionPlus support and these specific melee weapons.
Nofsinger confirmed that WiiSpeak support is still included, and described to 1UP that it took a lot of effort for High Voltages audio engineers to do so. On the bright side, Nofsinger confirmed that WiiSpeak is a fantastic fit for the game, and the efforts have paid off since it is an excellent feature for online multiplayer.
Smash Bros. isn't really GANON but at least it goes for proper representations.
True, but still since this is a quick side project for Konami I don't see it as a major entry in the series.
Then again, I am not a big CV fan, so maybe I have to be a major fan in order to be disgusted with the designs.
I'm curious -- do you really think this kind of connectivity between Wii and DS is a good thing? It seems like a craven marketing ploy to require owning two different games to unlock everything in each. Maybe it's not so bad when there's an alternate method (as I think was done for some of the unlocks in Metroid Prime).
1. I am planning on buying a 32 inch set since my room is not big enough to buy a big TV and I need to save money. The ones that I checked are usually 400 + to 500 + dollars. What's the best price to invest in a set of this size?
2. What is the best brand?
3. I have both a Wii and an XBOX 360. What do I need in order to maximize their performance on the HD TV?I recall that you have an elite 360 which came with an HDMI cables and component cables so you are set, for Wii you can get a set of component cables which can run you around 20 dollars.
4. I am confused when some ads say that the TV is 16:9 widescreen, but others show the TV being clearly widescreen but not mentioning it. Is there a difference between the two that I need to know>HDTVs always are 16:9 widescreen format, but take note that there are smaller flat screen TVs that are 4:3 SDTVs just because it's flatscreen doesn't mean it's HDTV but those are usually TVs that are less than 15".
5. I have a satellite service which is digital. Do I need anything in order to get my programming in HD and, if available widescreen? I know that Cartoon Network show some of its shows in HD and widescreen, so do I need anything else? You're satellite box that's connected to your TV will need to be HD capable the easiest way to tell is if it has a slot for component cables and/or HDMI to take advantage of it you need a set of component or HDMI cables to connect from the box to the TV and well obviously a HD capable receiver box.
7. What cables do I need when I purchase my set?
Nope. It'll be DDR with RE characters and 80's tunes including (of course) "Thriller."
Unlockable characters will include HUNK, Tofu, Lisa Trevor, and a bikini-clad Ashley Graham.
Arkedo also teased that the arcade mode might feature a co-operative mode inspired by Super Mario Galaxy. Talking about one idea for the sequel, Guermonprez wondered what would happen if a player's four-year-old daughter wanted to play along. "Does she want to help you fight the baddies," he pondered, "or does she want to have fun tickling them so they can get crazy and annoy you more?"
Guermonprez confirmed that the sequel would control like a horizontal scrolling shooter, however details of the game at this point are scarce because the title is very early in development.
Currently Arkedo is planning to release the game sometime in 2010. While they didn't tell N-Sider the name of the project, earlier this month Yubaba, the music composer of Big Bang Mini, had a 2009 listing under the sound design and music project listings section of their MySpace page for a game referred to as Big Bang Party.
So, no review, almost no friendcode posts, seems like noone cares... except for the wide masses since the game is very high on the charts everywhere (#1 throughout Europe, #3 in the US last Wednesday). What happened, is it *gasp* a casual game?
Oh wow, I didn't notice that the Wii version is actually a FREAKING PORT of the DS version!
I was gonna get both, glad I read this thread. I'll just get the DS version (and maybe the Wii one used in a few months if I can find it cheap).
Technically it's not a port it's an emulation of the DS. I wish Square made something different for the Wii version or a different game as a whole.
It kind of sucks the wind out of their "We made a Wii and DS game that is cross platform compatible!" statement. It's not really that big of a deal when its the DS game on emulation. I would have thought that some things would have been different or even some extra features added from one or the other.
