Did we ever hear more of the rumor that Bioshock was coming to the Wii?

What rumor? Oh, you mean as a rail shooter?

The rumor popped up because 2K Boston, 2K Australia and 2K Marin are looking for developers who have Wii,PS3,X360 experience.

I'm surprised you didn't play any of the time crisis games in the arcades or on PS/PS2/PS3 the series is quite old. I always get a kick out of the fact that the guncon 3 is pretty much they same technology of the Wii remote IR sensor and the game retailed for 90 dollars.

I remember I annoyed people with a specific feature in the Wii version where the game sends bulletin board messages to your checked off friends on WiiConnect 24 whenever you got a gameover and scored points.

TalkBack / NNOOO Brings Pop+ Solo Sequel to DSiWare
« on: March 15, 2009, 01:08:09 AM »
In order to bring their WiiWare launch title to DSiWare, NNOOO is adding features like boss fights, an adventure mode, and more.
 http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=17972

After the successful WiiWare and iPhone versions of Pop, Australian developer NNOOO plans on bringing their game to DSiWare under a new name: Pop+ Solo. The developers are bringing new elements to the bubble popping game such as boss fights, an Adventure mode, and some fan-inspired bonus round games.

For fans of the original WiiWare game, Pop+ Solo retains the elements inflating a bubbles, causing chain reactions when they burst, and a badge system similar to the Xbox 360's achievement system or Playstation 3's trophy system. A couple of modes from the original have also been retained, such as the race to 9,999,999 points that is Advanced mode, the Normal mode where players Pop bubbles not just for points but also extra time, and also the Chill mode where players can freely pop bubbles without restrictions.

The Training mode in Pop+ Solo has been revamped so it allows players to practice at their own pace. The new Adventure mode introduces obstacles such as water jets, sea mines, and boss battles. For example, a giant squid boss would leave oil blobs on the screen Mario Kart DS style, or a starfish boss might grip onto the player's view with all five arms and not just impede progress, but seek to "crack the screen."

The Bonus Rounds mini game mode has actually been inspired by fan feedback. NNOOO plans to include five different mini-games in this mode. Machine Gun is a mode where players rapidly tap the screen to pop as many bubbles within the time limit, and Defend has players preventing bubbles from reaching a boundary line on one side of the touch screen. The Detonate mini-game focuses on creating chaining combos with color specific bubbles, and Focus is a situation where players have to pop specific colors of bubbles, and if the wrong one is popped then it will be game over. Finally, NNOOO is working on a mini-game called Sequence, which is based on players matching symbols that are flashed on the screen.

Pop+ Solo will have a price point of 500 DSi Points. While the game has no official release date, Creative director Nic Watt revealed to IGN that they plan on releasing Pop+ Solo, and a hinted Pop+ Versus, later this year.

Its sad that Nintendo had the foresight to include anti-aliasing features since the N64, yet fails to get developers to use the features. Things could be so much better if developers would take the time to do them right.

It's not Nintendo's fault that developers don't include AA, there are games that lack AA on every system. Just because Nintendo Sony and Microsoft provide tools to developers it doesn't mean every tool will always be used. That falls on developer and sometimes publisher digression because developers always have deadlines to meet   so while there can be a lot of things planned to be implemented not all of them will make it in the final product.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Official Wii Sales Thread
« on: March 14, 2009, 12:21:26 PM »
I really doubt DS hit the saturation point in Japan but it's close. The reason why PS3 is selling well is because RE5, RE5 PS3 bundle, Yakuza 3, Yakuza 3 PS3 bundle. For PSP a dynasty warriors game came out and those games sell relatively well which will cause a bump in the hardware sales. Wii sales aren't doing that great is because there's nothing major coming out in Japan for the Wii for a few months.

Wii does have anti-aliasing features it's the developers job to put it in and utilize it. There are a bunch of PS3 and 360 games that look jaggy and lack anti-aliasing. I hope you enabled 480p.

It's the first suikoden on a Nintendo system and the Wi-Fi features are pretty interesting you can loan out characters to your friend who doesn't have the characters. And there are also Wi-Fi specific quests.

"In the hopes that more people can enjoy the game, we are currently working on an update," Takahashi wrote on Sony's PlayStation blog.

"A featured addition to the update is going to be offline multiplayer. Some may say, “Offline!?” But it’ll still be fun. Please check it out."

How is this any different than Nintendo's "New Play Control!" line? Maybe Nintendo should approach Capcom and see if they would like to use the label.

Not sure I will get either port. I have heard mixed impressions on the Japanese versions.

Nintendo added wide screen, some minor new elements in each game (Picture in Picture in Mario Power Tennis, day replays in Pikmin), new controls without using the gamecube/classic controls as a crutch and games that didn't support progressive scan now do.

RE:UC had pretty good graphics, I never complained about them. If Capcom wants to outsource Wii stuff maybe they should stick with Cavia(RE:UC, RE:DC) instead of TOSE (Dead Rising:Chop Till You Drop).

I think the problem with modern RPGs is that they tend to over complicate things and it doesn't really hook on to people. I do like console RPGs and strategy RPGs but I definitely prefer the older stuff or turn based battles (the sole exception is tales of series and maybe arc rise fantasia).

No, Mr. Driller was announced by Namco Bandai a few weeks ago, I'm sure there are plenty of third parties making DSiWare games but there will probably be more announcements when the DSi is available worldwide.

TalkBack / WayForward Announces Mighty Flip Champs For DSiWare
« on: March 11, 2009, 04:01:03 PM »
WayForward announces their first game for the DSiWare digital distribution service.
 http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=17951

Mighty Flip Champs is a puzzle/platforming game in which players control Alta, who must traverse various chambers full of mazes. The action happens on the top screen, while the bottom screen hosts a preview of the next stage.  This preview shows a projected destination, which is where Alta will end up once she “flips” to the next stage with her magic wand.

Because Mighty Flip Champs will be downloadable via the DSiWare service, it will be a DSi exclusive title. Matt Bozon will serve as the game’s director, with his prior experience being Shantae on the Gameboy Color and Contra 4 on the Nintendo DS.

Currently there is no price point or release date announced for Mighty Flip Champs.

You know lots of people on here liked the game when it came out. When there wasn't much info people were upset. In the end lots of people liked the game.

I'm actually more interested in this than Resident Evil 5 both as a single player and a co-op game.
