Nintendo Gaming / Conference Times?
« on: May 14, 2005, 07:00:19 AM »
Hey!
I'm having trouble finding an E3 schedule online
To be sure, the Nintendo conference is at noon EST on Tuesday, right? (or 12:30 or something)
When is Sony's?

Thanks

General Gaming / Next Gen Madden?
« on: April 24, 2005, 10:56:04 PM »
I'm a bit confused. This is like XBOX360/PS2/Revolution Madden? Or just the next Madden? Because as pretty as it looks it's like a stupid teaser video, absolutely nothing to get excited over...

Nintendo Gaming / Revolution Secret 'Leaked' At Brokensaints (SPOILER)
« on: April 24, 2005, 11:09:14 AM »
This deserves it's own topic. You are currently forewarned that this is quite possibly the answer to Revolution's secret, and should you wish to wait til E3, stop reading.

Last chance.

The secret has been posted here.

Now, this is by no means official, and is technically another rumour. But maybe it's correct. For those of you who don't want to read, here is what it says hidden:

-...When an agent friend of mine was chatting with Rodriguez (there to pump Sin City and discuss his experiences with Spy Kids 3D), he mentioned how they were aware of a game machine beating [3D film supporters] to the mainstream 3D market.

-The next day, I contacted another strangely influential industry pal/pundit and shared my thesis purely for fun’s sake (and perhaps some extremely lame bragging rights). The final shiny block of tetrisy knowledge slid into place when he excitedly shared the following - that the Big N had shown a real-time 3D add-on for Gamecube behind closed doors…AT LAST YEAR’S E3. This is the sound of four rows dropping.

So, thoughts?

General Gaming / PSP: Helping the Industry One New Pirate at a Time?
« on: April 11, 2005, 10:52:17 AM »
Looking at the PSP board over at GameFaqs I was surprised to find aboutn half of the topics were regarding coverting videos to the PSP. Then it occured to me how many people will start downloading movies to save the step of ripping a DVD. A lot of people say they'll never pirate because they hate watching movies on their PC when they have  agreat tv in the same room. Well, if the option is wtaching it on the long planeride...suddently it's appealing.

Regardless of what anyone says, MP3 players have made MP3s boom and the so-called piracy shoot for the sky. So far movies have kept piracy somewhat in line because unlike music it has never been worth it. But if the PSP becomes  abig hit the temptation is going to be huge.

UMD might save the games, but the mvoies are another story...

Nintendo Gaming / On Even Terms With Xenon and NOT PS3?
« on: March 24, 2005, 07:20:08 AM »
Several sites are starting to say Revolution specs will be about the same as Xenon's. Some even say a little lower. These are major sites too, like IGN (hate them ok, but they're rarely wrong about news). Is this just the biggest mistake ever or what? Nintendo continually shoots themselves in the foot with their smaller media, and now they're going to be the weakest system after releasing a YEAR later? That would be game over on day one, plain and simple.

Now, this is just  a rumour. But as far as I'm concerned if Nintendo has even a slight chance they have to at LEAST be tied for most powerful, if not the most powerful. Otherwise the media will crucify them before they even begin.

Nintendo Gaming / Controller Ports...
« on: February 12, 2005, 07:31:17 PM »
Here a thought I had lately about an idea for the next gen. It's not Nintendo specifics:

USB ports for the controllers. Yes, I know, the horrible PC/console merging sucks, I agree, but think about this. Consoles can't do certain things as well as PCs. Such as what? RTS for example. So imagine, all you have to do is plug your normal USB keyboard (most are nowadays) into your system along with your mouse and BAM. Or they can sell special specific mice, but they'd be cheap! It's just an easy way to expand controller capabilities.

Nintendo Gaming / The bad starts already...
« on: January 28, 2005, 06:11:52 AM »
GameFaqs has been doing "When will ____ release their new console?" as their poll of the day the past few days. Today is Nintendo. There is, however, one large difference between Nintendo's poll and MS's and Sony's. There is a 'never' option. I did a double take when I realize this. Why would Nintendo be the only one with never!? It looks like people are starting to line up against them already.

NWR Feedback / Automatically changing words to insults...
« on: December 26, 2004, 05:09:55 PM »
What's up with ki-ddy becoming tiku tiku tiku!  and stuff like M $ becoming my post is a train wreck ? This is something I'd expect of a visitor insulting site like IGN, not PGC. I understand there are idiotic posters, but ki-ddy is especially a word that has a real meaning. It IS an issue. Look at the public perception of the GCN. M $ is just a simple thing a lot of people use against Microsoft for their overall company, not a bashing technique against the XBOX.

PGC is usually a very friendly site, one for the fans. But sometimes these forums feel like they're here so the moderators can play with the users. I get you want a nice, clean forum, but at what cost? A fight can be locked...

Nintendo Gaming / Ok, I Was Wrong (DS Hardware Reaction)
« on: December 26, 2004, 04:48:58 PM »
This is a really, really nice system. It's even nicer looking than the GBA SP and I am super-impressed with the screens, they're beautiful and so bright. I'm not minding using the thumb strap for controlling Mario 64 (except I unattach it from the system). The only thing that dissapoints me is that Wario Ware is the only upcoming (date announced) game I want. They really need to get better games for it, soon. I do think, however, this is one system where later generation games will truly be superior. The next year will be experimental, so that's good. I hope people make an even mix of normal and touch games. Mother 3 will also be great, the Mario DS too. Also FF:CC should be fun. I just pray AC is online, because if it is it will OWN.

This has restored my faith in DS vs. PSP.

Anyway, if this is the wrong place let me know, I'll post it in whatever thread it belongs. I just didn't see a Hardware Reaction thread.

Nintendo Gaming / Price Cost of "Connecting" Games
« on: May 14, 2003, 12:47:36 PM »
Looking at Tetra's Trackers, Four Swords, Pac Man, etc, I think they all look fun. And I might buy them. But I am NOT paying full price. No way, never. Not when you need 4 gbas. So, will Nintendo INSANELY sell these hardly-GCN games for full price? Or might we seem them at 29.99? Or 39.99 with a GBA-GCN cable? I'd buy them for 39.99 Canadian, but not 69.99. What do you think?

NWR Feedback / The Forum "Motto"
« on: April 08, 2003, 04:59:56 AM »
This isn't a complaint, just an observation.

The motto of this forum is "Where Planet Gamecube Rads Go to Bitch About Everything." But it's obvious this isn't true. The moderators watch the forum like hawks. If you try to complain about many things, your thread is locked. Apparantly it's because these threads are useless and don't conduct conversation. I'm wonder: so? Last time I checked no one was dying because of a poll thread (what if there was a whole section just for polls?). If someone makes a thread complaining about something that is supposedly "pointless", why is a moderator allowed to have the final say. Just because you work for a website doesn't make you the be-all and end-all of Nintendo knowledge. Maybe I'm just asking why the motto is something that just isn't true.

Once again, not a complaint.
