Nintendo Gaming / RE: Official DS Sales Thread

That game? That's Layton 2, which isn't even confirmed to be released in English yet. Anyway colour me skeptical how PSP can sell so many systems with not a single game in the top 30.

Aw man, I just bought this on N64 a year or two ago. Oh well I can just take a photo of the screen if I really need to feel this feature. Amazing game.

Um, what? This is already out? It can't be. Where's the impressions? I've never seen this anywhere. I want to be sure it exists before purchasing it.

It was worth it not just to secure one but to experience the "event" of getting it.

Please go too spelling school also because that is REALLY irritating

Because noone cares. I didn't even buy the game after losing interest, and I had a Paper Mario avatar for months. Plus you can't import US Wii games.

It's so sad how despite the monster hardware sales Wii games seem to be doing worse than even PS3 games in the weekly all formats chart.

I disagree with this statement but as I've said before even when OoT was released I didn't see what all the fuss was about.

What was so groundbreaking about the game?

Exactly, it was basically Mario 64 with all gameplay taken out of it.

More like Zelda games are whoring out the Tingle franchise

Zelda was never meant to be 3D either. Things change.

TP didn't even have a shooting gallery did it?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Official Endless Ocean (aka Forever Blue) thread
« on: November 25, 2007, 01:36:37 AM »
Alright been playing for a few days now, and the game is definitely beautiful, the best looking game on Wii. (I haven't played Galaxy yet). It took a while for me to get into but now i'm starting to really enjoy it. While this pretty much defines "non-game" there's still sort of a set path and "missions" to do but at the moment i'm just exploring on my own and it's really satisfying seeing all the different types of underwater environments. The soundtrack as a whole is very good and immersive too.

KDR you get more options to do stuff as you progress through the first hour or two. 10 minutes is nothing in this game. Anyway I still have heaps of ocean to explore.

It's clunky, it's not streamlined, it's not intuitive, and it's unnecessary.

I shouldn't have to put in a separate Friend Code for each game I buy. I should be able to see whenever any of my friends are playing any game at all, even one that's not online, and send them an invite to play a match with me. I should be able to select a friend and join a game that they're in. I should be able to TALK to my friends over Wi-fi.

It IS a problem, it IS hindering online play, and it IS preventing Nintendo from competing with 360 in the online gaming market.

Your posts are way more counter-productive than the point you're arguing. As for not having to input anything, well obviously you don't own any Wii online games so you don't have to. I just added 110 codes for fun while reading this thread.

insanolord said it best, and Strikers is absolutely fantastic and the best online experience i've ever had.

Online play can sometimes give a game a short shelf life if the game is too reliant on the online features. Online games benefit from a community and that usually is the strongest when a game is brand new.

This is definitely the case for Mario Strikers, especially in Australia where there isn't many people online period. There's only about 20 people online in the game in any given day now when there was up to 1000 at launch, I haven't even touched the single player mode and never plan to (dont want my mad skillz to be "weakened" by playing against AI), and now I hardly ever play it because its purely a competitive game and you can't play it offline with casuals because you'll win 18-0 and it'll be boring. Though the hours I did get while the game was new for the first few months were fantastic.

I bet most people returning Prime 3 did it because they were bored out of their mind after the first half hour. That's what caused me to not even buy the game.

I think it's more likely those people who only play Wii Sports wouldn't have bought it at all without it

That review is a complete joke, it sounds like a 5th grade lunch conversation and they dont even get the FACTS right.

There are just so many control missteps here. Why do we have to hold A while we twirl the Wiimote during the Hammer Throw, but press B to release it?

You don't have to hold A at all, just press it once to signal you are ready. Wow.

WTF has happened to gaming journalism? It's outright atrocious when you can get more reliable impressions from a GameFAQs poster. This crap shouldn't be taken lightly, they are making the industry look like a joke.

« on: November 22, 2007, 01:08:38 PM »
Finally got this game the day of its AUS release and it's already my favourite game on Wii. I'm convinced 4 player Olympics is the greatest fun you can possibly have with a piece of entertainment software. I love getting physical, though I can see why it's not for everyone (fatties). 9 hours playtime yesterday has me buggered, and now i'm stuck and can't get top 3 in one of the 100m sprints in Circuit Mode, i'll need some good rest before having another crack at that.

Archery is a nice surprise with its innovative controls, it's not just point and shoot. Very technical. Table Tennis is awesome because the controls are similar to Wii Tennis. This game is jam packed with so much, I only just noticed the mini-games in the trivia section. Unlocked some of the dream events and they seem pretty gimmicky to me even though they are very cool.

Hey guys can someone tell me if there's anything that needs to be unlocked in this game or if I can just buy it and straight away enjoy all the sports in multiplayer.

I only just picked up the first game last week, and having a blast. I'm really interested in getting this (too many damn games out), but I have a question about the plunger shooting stages, is the aiming really as slow as previous vids suggested? Or can you dart the cursor around like normal.

Don't expect this to get good "reviews" because its the perfect game certain people want to see flop, similar to Manhunt 2.
