General Chat / RE: I suck

I know right now that I am going to need to beat the game at least twice to finish the gallery.  I LOVE the gallery though, and I often play the game just to sail the sea and take pictures.

KnowsNothing, I still have my FF8 save files, but I have no idea if I have Carbuncle or not.  I am thinking that I probably do.  I don't remember how I got it.

What is happening is you are using a browser that has some inherent crashing issues.  I am not about to tell you that Firebird is crash free, as I would be lying my ass off, but I RARELY encounter any sort of crashes anymore, and I am using the September 7th nightly.  I upgrade to the newest version about every two weeks.

A browser is just a browser.  Your ISP probably installed IE6 as a result of some sort of a deal with MS.  Much like AOL packages IE with their software.  It's not a bad thing to upgrade your browser anyways, as IE is VERY MUCH a part of your OS, but I wouldn't really recommend using it a whole lot.  It's a liability.  I just have a problem with a browser that allows websites to f*ck around with your computer without your knowledge.

But yeah.  Bottom line is that your browser is crashing, and you should really give Mozilla Firebird a try.  It's amazing you know...  People around here take my word for it when I tell them to go edit their registry... but they don't take my word for it when I tell them to upgrade their browser.    I find that rather amusing.  If I was a malevolent person, I could SO screw up your computers.

Personally not a fan of that sculpture.  I have just been spoiled by all the shots of the famous R2D2 and Darth Vader sculptures out there.

But Ms. Pikmin... that's truly awesome.  I would SO have accepted that one.

Heh... The card game in FF8 was one of the few things I liked about the game.  I played through the game again with the intention of getting every card.  I missed one card.  Laguna.  Somehow I had just forgotten about it.  DOH!  But I never ever did get all the guardian forces.  It just wasn't worth my while.

I'm making an honest effort to finish Xenosaga right now, but that still doesn't explain why I am looking up pr0n instead of playing it.  *sigh*

erm....  I am not really a fan of QT movies, so I only watch the WMV ones.  All that I do is right click on the WMV link, and save target to my hard drive.  So says the 30 or so GameTrailers.com movies on my hard drive.

I might also suggest Mozilla Firebird if you are having the problem of not being able to download embedded media.  In Firebird, you can right click on any page, and the bottom button in the popup menu will say "View Page Info".  Click that, then click on the "media" tab, and you can download any movie, flash animation, picture, or anything else that's on the webpage you are viewing.

Take your pick.

Just editing to say that regardless of which option you pick, you should still upgrade to Mozilla Firebird.  There's just no reason to use IE.

lol...  I stopped reading when I read that "The Popular Tomb Raider" games weren't coming to GameCube.  If that's a bad thing, I don't know what a good thing is.

Now to download that porn shamelessly and at blistering speeds of 200kb per second!

*cough*

You realize that the only reason that you caught that bug is because of IE's blatant security holes that are cleverly disguised as "features"?  If you were running Mozilla Firebird, that would never have happened.

Either that or not enough.

The orange juice thing sounds awesome too.  I just hope my Mom doesn't decide to pay me a surprise visit.  I have about 30 empty bottles within an arm's length of me right now.  O_o  I would have difficulty explaining that.

So.... ummm....  I've never played a Megaman game before.  I am not really into platformers for the most part, so I never really tried it.  Would now be a good time to start?

mmm....  Pineapple lemon-lime tequila sounds really good to me.    Thanks dude.

And you have a green/blue hair fetish too?  I remember the first time I was browsing through a porno mag and saw an advertisement for Penthouse Forum or something like that, and they showed this gorgeous Asian chick with fluorescent green hair.  I was just knocked flat on my ass I tell ya.

Heh.  I am sure I will be buying Onyx at some point.  I have a 45 minute bus ride to work every morning, and I can't sleep.  It does have overhead reading lights, so I am sure I could use my regular GBA, but everyone is always sleeping, so it would be rude to have the light on the whole time.  The dim glow of a GBA SP I am sure would be ok though.  I just need to get some headphones so I can hear what FFT sounds like.  heh.

Like a bloody idiot, I spent $50 of my last $80 on Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.    Anyways, I get paid a couple hundred bucks in about 5 days, and I am sure I won't be starving this time, so it's all good.  But it does mean that I can't drink for a few days....  O_o

Anyways, does anyone know what to mix with it to actually make it taste good?  I am used to drinking shots, but I am not out to get hammered tonight.  A buzz would do me fine.    I have some Xenosaga to play.

EDIT:  Just realized that didn't make much sense at all.  I can't afford to buy more beer, but the guy who moved out before me left a bit of tequila in the bottle, and my roommate doesn't drink.

Glad it helped.    I must mention that normally you should not edit your registry if you don't know what you are doing though.  If you screw it up, it's the best way to hose your computer.

NWR Feedback / RE: PGC Site/Forums sometimes don't load
« on: September 12, 2003, 02:58:24 PM »
Wow!  The site is actually working!  I never thought I would see the day.

Anyways, sorry for being so harsh Rick.  It's just that PGC was once my favoritest site without question, and lately it's been down so much that it's not even worth waiting around for it to load, and of course with a server that unreliable, it's not like PGC is reporting the news first thing or anything.  I just want PGC to survive.

I'll stick around a while longer, but I may just up and leave until you guys get this whole issue sorted out.

I am a Firebird user here.  I also tried the site in IE, and it's the same crap.  Like you, I am debating moving my hide elsewhere.  If there's anything I won't put up with, it's waiting an hour for a page to load.  If I wanted to put up with this, I would just go get AOL dialup.

I mean, I can see having site problems for a couple of days.  Even a week is understandable.  Months?  No.  There's just no excuse for that.

Sony censored BMX XXX.  Nintendo and Microsoft did not.

Sony censored some versions of Metal Gear Solid to mosaic out a naked guard.  Nintendo will not.

1)  Professional 666 is 100% correct.

2)  The effects of emulation on current generation hardware is very minimal to tell you the truth.  Emulators are not easy to code, and to properly run the emulator, you must have a computer that is VERY cutting edge.  It's estimated that to properly emulate a GameCube on a PC, you would need a 5GHz processor.  That kind of power is not cheap (or available yet).  Emulating previous consoles also emulates their security flaws however, so it's entirely possible that providing backwards compatability for games such as PSO would allow a clever hacker to hack GameCube's successor.

3)  Pretty good is my guess.

There's many different versions of Metal Gear Solid.  I know that there are some already that aren't censored.  I have the PC version, but I can't actually remember whether that's censored or not in the PC version.

Yeah, lousy news and a server that is barely functioning is enough reason for me to go elsewhere.  It's one thing to have technical difficulty for a few days, or even a week.  It's another thing entirely to have a server this bad for months on end.  There's no excuse for that.
