Comon Dan, I'm convinced that there is infact a copy of F-Zero GX underneath the Scorpian King at Mann's Newsagent.
And Termin, Aussie Ben has the Monster Go Go Go game, not me. You'll have to sneak his house.

Hmm, looking at that DVD Craze thing it would appear that I managed to get ripped off on Prince of Persia in Singapore. Even with the current exchange rate it would've been cheaper to get it from there, and no wrestling with the freeloader to start the game (seriously the freeloader seems to hate that game.)

I was very tempted to buy R: Racing Evolution when I was in Singapore, I probably should've just for Pac Man versus.

There are four national languages, English, Malay/Indonesion, Tamil, Chinese (Manderine). Every shop person knows english, usually as you wlak down the street ou might here people's conversations change language seemingly at random. About the asian girls thingg and speaking Korean. During school hours all young Asian girls (some appear young but are not) present are most likely tourists from Korea or Japan. The Singapore girls come out after school and speak English.

Ikaruga is really good. Even my sister likes it, we were playing 2 player today and it's great. Pretty hard but strangly compelling.

As for Singlish, I hadn't heard of it but I did see a government ad in the subway station saying that "You didn't need to use long words to speak English well" or something. Government advertising (or propaganda if you like) is everywhere. I mean ads for the army are painted on the sides of buses. They have Conscription to, they reckon Japan will go on another rampage.

Ugh! That, by far, is my most hated John Lennon song ever!

I believe it was through the pure crapness of that song that Bob Dylan got his start. We needed a better protest song.

Ok about the DS, I hope they think up a better name for it than simply DS. I mean Advance was a pretty bad add on to GameBoy, SP was worse even GameCube is questionable. Nintendo 64 had a crap sound to it too. How about the Nintendo Wasmatron? Much better.
Honestly I'm pretty much just wasting space with this post, I dont know what to think of the DS yet, it's far to confusing, I haven't made up my mind. Mabye E3 will help.

I saw it a lot while I was in Singapore, VERY tempted to buy it and a broadband adaptor. But then I read they suggested a 256kb up speed. So I bought other stuff instead.

Well I decided to concentrate on stuff that you couldn't get in Australia. So a Freeloader, Ikaruga (japanese) One of the SNES shaped controllers, Harvest Moon (GBA), Zelda Special Collectors Edition (you know, the compilation) and Prince of Persia (cant wait till release) were all first up. I was thinking about a broadband adaptor but Money was running short after the Blue/Silver GBA SP (complete with complimentery pirated copy of Castlevania)
Tips for travellers to Singapore.
- Changi Airport is a ripoff.
- Dont go looking for young asian girls till after school is over, unless you speak Japanese or Korean. Asian girls are all slim and look young, they could be 28 years old
- Sim Lim Square, I believe that is Malay for 'Geek Heaven'
- Dont smuggle drugs into the country, penalty is death by hanging.
- Dont smuggle chewing gum into the country, penatly is $10,000 fine.
- Eat some good curry while your there.
- Visit a Chinese Temple.
- If your a Jehova, dont tell anybody about it.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Ideas for the next Super Smash Bros.
« on: January 24, 2004, 02:40:00 AM »
I think if anything the moves should be simplified to make it more accesible. The problem with Smash Bros Melee was that for new players it was less accesable than the original. Adding more styles and moves wont nessisarily add depth either, most player wouldn't even use the full range of moves offered by their character. I'm a Jigglypuff person, I rarely use sing or use my shield.
Smash Bros isn't like your other 2d fighting games, memorising combos and thinking 2 or three steps ahead of your oppoent, it's thiking for the moment, doing the right move at the right time for that situation, and then be faced with another seemingly random situation to come out on top of.

Back to avatars, I was feeling nostalgic so I put back what I think was my original avatar. Might've had a pic of an iMac before this though. Anyway, welcome back Chester.

Whats more, the art of 'Kate Rose' makes her look like a 50 year old whore instead of a perky, cute, redhead teenager.
She might look 50 in their drawing but remeber, this is live action so they will probably get a perky cute 19 year old with dyed red hair. Aslo at least the name Kate Rose is slightly more, German than Asuka. Mabye Kate Langley would've been better.

I am still silently hoping that this film will turn out to be allright, and I'll definatly go and see it. But if Daniel Radcliffe is Shinji we should abandon all hope. Shinji was annoying enough, we dont need an annoying actor to play him too. I think they could at least get Japanese or Asian people living in America as actors to play the roles. I mean it is set in Japan, unless Tokyo-3 was apparently built in a subterraian opening they happend to find under New York. Although... Emma Watson wouldn't be a bad Asuka IMO
Speaking of Potter and his ilk whatever happend to the third movie??

Q: What mp3 are you listening to right now?

Seriously i dont understand all the fuss over collaborations. Why cant anyone just go and make a good game ON THEIR OWN! Sure I know they will need funding from the publisher but I dont see why companies should have to 'work togethor' on a title. And just because they do doesn't always turn out for the better, the clashing of ideas can result in some games turning out to be real messy pieces of work.

The discussion wasn't about video games however, it was about pants. But even as the guys tried to diversify, they couldn't help but have every subject they talk about somehow lead back to video games. They gave up and enthusiasictally shared their dreams of the next roud of consoles.
Across the bus Anna sighed. "listen to those losers!" said her friend Elaine.
"They're not losers, I think they're sweet" replied Anna.
"But they're soooooo boring. All they ever talk about is X stations and Playcubes"
"Well if that's so boring why did you tell me to listen to it?" Anna replied cheekily. Elaine was nice enough, but was sometimes too judgemental of people, and got cut easily. Elaine crossed her arms and sulked to herself looking out the window. This somehow gratified Anna.
The bus still had a long way to go before they reached school. It rolled to a stop to pick up some more students.

The 1 gigabit reference (or in more common terms, 128megabytes, appears to be talking about how large the game cartriges will be. For comparison reasons, Ocarina of Time was 32 megs.
Also about the clamshell design. If the screens are above and below each other as the nice lady says, they could put a hinge between them, dividing the machine in half, so then they could fold over onto one another, much like the current clamshell design. Which is good to protect both screens.

I thought it could've at least had wings and blades from F Zero ships sticking out but it's still reasonably slick nevertheless.

I'm assuming your talking about Graal Online. They dropepd the Zelda thing because Nintendo stepped in and told them to remove it. So not really a blind eye.

I've heard all about this 2d OOT. Daniel occasionally drops by my ezboard and posts updates. It's defiantly looking promising. If only somone coud get a Mac version out the door too.

Apparently when they were contructing the Harbour Bridge, of the 7 people who fell off, 6 died. One guy fell off with his hammer. The hammer hit the water first and broke the tension so he survived. Sure they were still peeling his leather boots off his thighs but at least he survived right?

NWR Feedback / RE: PGC, what the heck is up with the ads?
« on: January 12, 2004, 11:41:08 PM »
Ok well if you dont get the lucury of choosing ads then I guess it's allright.
Another thing I'm wondering is why UGO is still running ads that are years old and now irrelevant, but that's soemthing we shoudl take up with them.

We all rember the fuss made about hairline fractures, you know, those tiny lines that would appear in the plastic, well mine have recently gotten out of control. They are now very noticabe and the area aroudn them appears to be discoloured.
And my eject button gets stuck down sometimes. I dont like that.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Unplug ur GCN while not using?
« on: January 12, 2004, 11:14:08 PM »
None of my systems are ever plugged in, except when I'm playing.
You see we have this nice jarrah cabinet. The consoles go in there, Mum doens't like them lying around the house, she wants it neat. So We keep the cords plugged in underneath the cabinet and the cube inside. When i want to play, I simply use the cubes handle to fetch it out of the cabinet, get teh cabels from underneath and plug them into the back of the cube.
So that's my reason for keeping it unplugged.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Mario Kart Discussion (TALK ABOUT MARIO KART HERE)
« on: January 12, 2004, 11:10:33 PM »
ryman, if you and your friend are just playing cube against cube with seperate TVs, all you need to do is connect the cubes via the cable, no routers needed. You dont need to do anything tricky until you start using Warp Pipe to play over the net.
Who was whining about Rainbow Road before? This rainbow road if the greatest Mario Kart course ever devised. It it totally downhill (well theres the spiral uphil bit, but you have zips along that) meiang that you go incredibly fast, I've even caught up to my own Red shells on it. It's slippery and has no walls so your blood is pumping the whole time and there are zips everywhere. It is heaven. My favorite part is the chicane. It doens't look hard but with the slipperyness and the speed your travellign it's easily the most lethal part of the track, INSANE!
