Nintendo Gaming / Gameboy Advance Attachment
« on: June 21, 2003, 02:10:48 AM »
Wait, if the disc can turn the player on, so that should mean that any future game can recieve data from the cartridge slot if the disc tells the system to activate it?

Hey, it should be possible, if the GBP is connected to the system, the GCN shoulld be able to see it at the least. Theres no reason it shouldnt work.

An emulator is different from a cartridge that downloads games you find on the net. This isnt a floppy disc we're talking about here. Nintendo had a right to bust these guys. Isnt copying a game downright illegal (Well, I read at GameFAQ's that making 1 copy of your game is legal and thats it, you have to rid of the extra copy if you lose ownership of your original.)  However this isnt the case with the flash cards, your not making copies of the game, your owning a copy of someone elses own copy.

Either way, good for the Big N.

General Gaming / Europe not embracing online play.
« on: June 20, 2003, 04:33:25 PM »
There you have it, Sony and Microsofts online plans are getting ever closer to biting the dust. Its become a great hassle between these companies, since 3rd party companies have to pay Sony and Microsoft royalties to develop for their system, not to mention pay for servers that they cant get their customers to fund.

Okay that was probably totally wrong or half-way right, but still, online gaming still belongs to the PC world, as its much cheaper and easier to manage than the consoles.

Yes, unless the camera bugged you in the Dreamcast version, you might want to stay away from this version. I'm only in for the new missions that I heard was added.

I used to like Infogrames (atari) when they published that Looney Tunes Space Race game. But when Dragon Ball Z - Legacy of Goku came around, it made me wonder why the keep publishing crap.

As for Sierra (They made the game, right) I'm not suprised how the game turned out. They made that platformer Half-Life.

General Chat / Sega Genesis VS Super Nintendo
« on: June 19, 2003, 08:44:25 PM »
The GCN is like...the only system I'll ever need.

What with Sonic Mega Collection (The only Sega Genesis games I cared about) the Game Boy Player, its like an NES and above.

Only if they'll release N64 ports will I go in complete orgasm.

But back on topic:

The Sonic games are pretty much what I mostly cared about. There were a few other ones (Tiny Toons Sports, World of Illusion w/ Mickey and Donald etc.

But yeah, the SNES had the better version and more of everything. But I still own both consoles.

When did the idea come around to remake the series?
Why a more serious approach?
Were there plans to get the original cast members from the old version?
How did you get involved with the show?

Reader Reviews / Super Monkey Ball 2
« on: June 19, 2003, 07:47:34 AM »
I'd give it a 7. While the tried and true gameplay established back in the days of Marble Madness were challenging, the 3D camera system makes it tricky to play the game. If only the camera was much more adjustable will the main games replay value sky rocket. Of course, the real replay value is finding all of the stages. The mini games are neat bonuses, but some like (Monkey Dogfight) dont really revolve around the regular gameplay, so gameplay balance can be an issue, sure they explain the controls, but some are just too simple for experienced gamers that want much more control over their monkey. Not to mention some mini games like Monkey Soccer, are poorly thought out. Hopefully Monkey Ball 3 will come around with all of these mini games and more. But the super-fast load times and fast paced gameplay is definatley a plus for this title.

But its still somewhat average, but now with its $30 price tag, you shant go wrong with this title.

Nintendo Gaming / Officially Unofficial Sonic Adventure DX Discussion
« on: June 19, 2003, 04:14:52 AM »
The only good Game Gear Sonic games I've played on the GG are Sonic CHaos, Sonic Triple Trouble, Sonic Drift 2, Tails Adventure, and in some cases, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. The rest of them are crap. With Sonic 2 being the worst of them. I wonder if they put in any kind of 2 player for Sonic Drift, if not, I wouldnt be suprised....

But as for the game being 'worse' its probably 'as buggy' since they failed to fix any of the problems from the original, and even though its at 60 frames, it still bogs down. Previous Dreamcast builds had the game running at 60 frames a second, but even then the framerate wasnt rock solid.

If only Sonic Team had time back then, and when they gave a damn now.

« on: June 18, 2003, 07:09:54 PM »
It makes me angry to hear that people cant hold a GCN controller properly. Its quite simple really. Even after telling them they totally forget afterwards.

Either that or people at my school are that dumb.

Best Buy sucks now when it comes to Cube games, either they're trying to screw themselves or Timmy at price regulations is too depressed with his failed date to eliminate the competition.

Super Monkey Ball Jr. for the GBA is for $20 at Target.

And a PS2 and X Box are just a couple of rectangles with ridges, big deal. The fact that the hardware and stuff is small IS appealing.

Ah well I bought an indigo one just because its the system's 'standard' color. At least way back when the console was released. I wanted to have matching colors with the other pieces, but I guess I wont with my BLACK broadband adapter and my BLACK Game Boy Player.

Hmm, I have a question. Does this have any kind of 2 player function? The official Sonic site says so apparently. But I havent heard any news. IGNGC.com says it has a 2 player fuction as well, other than where you can use Tails with player 2, what else is there?

I'm making this the official discussion now. -Bloodworth

IF you slide, and then jump off a ledge and try to use the jet-pack nozzle, you'll spray water, but you wont float. You drop like a rock =)

In the fun park, if you go to the mini bridge that goes to the roller coaster, at the end of it, tip toe to it and Mario will hang onto the ledge like so:
http://users.ev1.net/~Bart-man/Delete/sms-g-01.jpg

In lookaround mode with the speed nozzle (Forgot the real name) Mario walks around if you slightly hold the R button. http://users.ev1.net/~Bart-man/Delete/sms-g-02.jpg

If you leave water, and then ride Yoshi, the water changes to Yoshi's spit.

http://users.ev1.net/~Bart-man/Delete/sms-g-04.jpg

If you butt-stomp with Yoshi, he'll get back up then a different animation plays, sorta like this one:

I have more pictures, in fact, I'll create more! AHAHAHAAAH!

« on: June 18, 2003, 11:03:08 AM »
You know, Wavebird controllers' A and B buttons feel different from the other standard ones. On the WB, if you push it you can feel it. But on the standard ones it feels a bit mushy.

But they still work great. Oh well...

Capcom re-released all 6 of the NES Mega Man games in their original format for the Playstation, its just that Sony wont take it and Capcom wasted their time on it.

Great job Capcom. Hey, lets release Mega Man 7 for the N-Gage while we're at it...
