I agree with Doerr, just because they're basing the game on the PS2 doesnt mean that the game has to be for 2 players only.

Konami: Ohh, 4 turtles? The PS2 couldnt handle that many turtles, and we're lazy asses when it comes to making better more decent multi-console versions.

Super Mario Bros. DX always had the function to move the screen up and down. Reason why is that the screen is SMALL!

Though I do kinda wish for a Super Mario Advance 5 - Super Mario Bros.

Oh, if you press Select the screen shifts directly behind Mario.

I kept seeing the short version of Wario World from time to time.

Then again I barely watch TV anymore, its mostly crap in the mornings.

Nice to see the fact that theres now Nintendo ad's on Planet Gamecube =P

I liked most of all of Rare's titles on the N64, though Star Fox Adventures disappointed me on length and gameplay, it was kinda cool. I always wanted to play Fox on foot...but not that way. Not to mention the puzzles were VERY generic. I doubt that people have to get around by borrowing Krystal's staff. Now with her gone from Dinosaur Planet, the dinosaurs can no longer get across places without that damned stick. If she did leave it there, they cant carry it.

Gotta love these damn chosen weapon things of saviorness.

I give up in these discussions when they pop up at school. Even though some folks there arent afraid of having one, some people come up with some BS exscuses. The most popular one being that it doesnt have the GTA series.

I think we have our new drug for DARE (Or whatever those Drug awareness things are) to harass people about not to use.

Well, okay, it could probably have a very bad split due to the fact being the normal screen is so tiny, I kinda forgot that...heh. Unless they were very very ti-- OKAY! Stop throwing rocks!

And besides, its cheaper to buy a brand new GBA game than to get a brand new GCN game, then again, these days, developers arent very creative, and we probably wont see a Single screen mini game for 4 players at all. Unless its from Nintendo.

Bloodworth, it should be irrelevent that the Game Boy Player reckonizes all 4 ports as the same controller, some specifically designed games can tell the system otherwise I'm sure.

Nintendo Gaming / Gauntlet Dark Legacy
« on: June 25, 2003, 03:20:47 AM »
I liked Gauntlet DL, I wish I could find it cheap around here, in fact I wish I could find it period. But you know...stores suck. And buying used games just arent the same...

However, much like Midway's past other GCN titles, its got terrible lag, more graphical errors, long load times from the CD and memory card! Its a very lazy port, but if your at least in it for its multiplayer, it shant go wrong.

You know, the PS2 and GC narent even 128 bits =) If I rmeember from specs, which I've heard from some (And I kinda trust them) that only the X Box was like 128 bits or something...or was it PS2?

Beisdes, as its been stated a million times around here, specs mean diddly squat when it comes to getting a console.

No way! There has to be some games that work in a 2 player mode fashion. Just unlock one of the Sonic Drift games and try to go to 2 player mode. It should work.

Also, its kinda cool that you can also play the games side by side, ven though they're seprate.

Yeah, my games sometimes lagged for a second, but I'm not totally affected by this.

I'm also aware that my TV tuner on my PC can resize the display any way I want to. So I can have my games full screen on my PC (And on my TV through some connecting) but thats beside the point.

Also, I'm happy some people agree with me on the multiplayer issue. I wouldnt mind if the mini games were on one screen only. But with 2 player games like DKC's Candy Kong's DDR (Or wahtever its called) its ridiculous that you need another GBA and copy of DKC to play this mode. Although I wonder if this is impossible, since I found out that no matter what controllers plugged into where, it'll still take responses for the same first controller.

TalkBack / Nintendo Releases Game Boy Player
« on: June 24, 2003, 05:38:20 PM »
No not really, but I got mine today and I'm a very proud owner of one =)

Now I can play Game Boy games on my TV screen without squinting on the screen. If you have a GBA, you can use it as a controller if the GCN controller bugs you so much. Though I havent had much of a problem using the control stick on games. I had some problems on Doom though, but I can probably get over that. Also, now that I have a real 2nd GBA, I can play linked games now =D Horray!

Now I need to convince my friend to bring his Cube for some Zelda Tingle Tuner fun...

Okay maybe with the stripped down features just to be fair. Whatever. Look, the point of it all is so that you wouldnt have to buy another copy. Could that feature bite into Nintendo's Game Boy sales? Its very possible. But with some thought put into it, they could have the feature and still sell more games.

TalkBack / Sega and McDonalds Team Up

I wonder if this gimmick (Which is very cool) will get McDonalds out of the rut that it dug itself in. I mean, this is the fast food chain that started everything. From Happy Meals to super sizing. And this is once again a first for any fast food chain. I'm only gonna get the toys though...

General Gaming / GBA Tunnel?
« on: June 23, 2003, 07:27:16 PM »
It would be somewhat possible, but the broadband/modem cable needs to think as a GBA link-up cable.

Did the GCN numbers jump at all last time? Because that 800,000 systems sounds kinda good for Nintendo.

Ugh, believe me, I tried Sonic Spinball for Game Gear. NEVER EVER touch this game.

Oh, and there wasnt any 2 player to speak of in that game.

But Sonic Drift 1 & 2 did have 2 player, so theres SA1's Kart mini game right there =P

Did they remove the GG games that didnt make it to the US?

Nintendo Gaming / Official Game Boy Player Discussion
« on: June 23, 2003, 07:09:36 PM »
*Sigh* one last time. REMEMBER! There is NO Game Boy game of ANY type that can support anything that I've said EARLIER, or BELOW

All I'm trying to say is that since the Game Boy Player can utilize the different parts of the Gamecube, I'm very sure there is a high chance of where all you need to play...oh say like Super Mario Advance's Mario Bros. Classic mode with 4 players is plug in other controllers to play the other Marios. Sure, the screen IS too big for that to happen correctly, but if they can scale the sprites or something it can work. And a splitscreen game of something flat shouldnt be too bothersome for the GBA to handle. Like if there was a race in like a Super Mario World level at least a 2 player split would work correctly. The GBA/P can handle all the art/pallete and stuff. There wont be any need to emulate yet another GBA. And another 'screen' cant be too harsh on the GBP/A

Or if what that guy said earlier about fighting games, that will DEFINATLEY work. The GBP can pick up the other controller port and control the other character. Come on, it should at least do single screen multiplayer.

Oh, one thing, even though it was 'released' today, my Gamestop said that it wont come in until tommorrow. I cant wait. Whee!

Hang on yall

http://www.planetgamecube.com/news.cfm?action=item&id=4469

Apparently they're not going to drop the ball just yet. Good ol' PGC asked these guys what was up and apparently, Cube development hasnt gone to a near complete halt. Just some decisive porting thats all.

This is still somewhat bad news, but whats with the CEO guy? Did he really say that or did someone twist his words?

Wait a minute? It was a rumour? But what about the CEO saying stuff about the GCN not giving profits or something?

Oh well, they're still an iffy developer. I still kinda stand by what I originally said about them. Theres only like a trickle of games that they make are quality.
