Nintendo Gaming / RE: Mario Kart DS - The Release Thread

For a guy who has eighty something wins and twenty losses, I doubt its something that involves skill.

Seriously, I dislike having to choose a car other than the Egg 1, and yet that car is still so much faster.

Especially online, all I ever get item wise are mushrooms, despite being in 2nd (Last)

Dueling totally sucks online, and the car balance is equally terrible. For the love of god why wont Nintendo fix something like this?

Its not really a hard technique to pull off, although there are some roads where I have that problem like Rainbow Road.

But still, I wish Nintendo would've considered this as a possibility to ruin the online mode for this game, I dont want to have to face against people who do this forever...

Okay, hang on, after experiencing one of these lightweight karts with the straightway powersliding trick, Mario Kart DS is just...ugh, imbalanced. If you try power slide boosting with the Egg 1 (That's Yoshi's first car of choice) then you can go at incredible speeds with it. This is just a real kick in the ass. The first online Mario Kart game, and its already flawed by this...

...I'm still gonna play it, but I dont expect my runtime with it to last as long as I'd hoped.

and of course, Mario Kart...

See you guys online eventually.

I'm mostly disappointed in their LAN ideas.

All they did to support the idea was 3 GCN racing games.

Mario Kart (8 Players)
1080 Avalanche (4 Players)
Kirby Air Ride (4 Players)

So...okay, why did they think the potential wasnt there when the broadband adapters didnt sell? Why did they push the 3rd parties to use it? Midway Arcade Treasures 3 would be so much better, too...

So much potential just gone away...

Those controllers are damn near perfect. Great for every 2D game availible on the Cube. Ranging from old school complimations to Viewtiful Joe.

Definatley reccomended. Especially for that kind of price (Envy!)

EA didnt publish Hit and Run, for the record, but I'm sure ya'll knew that.

I'm sure Radical would do well, if only EA will continue with them...

I was irritated that this had a trailer that wasted space on Midway Arcade Treasures 3.

Seriously folks, dont stick trailers of games in your programs, nobodys going to care about them years later, especially if its a crappy game, okay?

Wow, Rush 2049's multiplayer runs slower than the Dreamcast version's. This is horribly pathetic. Its like...15 frames per second or something, its snail racing...

Midway done screwed up again...

http://cube.ign.com/articles/661/661435p1.html

Horrible lag in Rush 2049's multiplayer and noticable framerate issues in the 3D games. As well as Rush the Rock isnt a solid 60 frames per second here.

Seriously, Midway, go to hell.

Outside of lisenced songs, blood and some scenes frozen to cover up things that'd be too questionable, Naruto is doing very well, edits wise its just fine. The BG music is also the same and its rated TV PG! On Toonami! The only other TV PG show outside of AS is Dragon Ball Z - Uncut.

Cartoon Network wins.

IGN and Gamespot reviewed it.

The guy from IGN is obviously happity for Rush 2049

Gamespot doesnt go into depth about the games.

Unfortunatley, this collection doesnt sound so hot. Rush 2049 and Hydro Thunder are the Dreamcast versions. Nothing wrong for Rush, the best game in the collection, but Hydro Thunder for DC only went up to 2 players. AND GUESS WHAT??! 2 PLAYERS ONLY HERE, TOO!

Games that did not see home console versions like Rush the Rock and Offroad Thunder are ported from the arcade edition, no multiplayer whatsoever. No splitscreen, no LAN, nothing! Not even for PS2 or XBox. Absolute laziness here.

It'd be nice if the GCN version was delayed to include the Cruis'n games, despite how disappointing the collection is, already.

For PS2 and XBox, GCN gets the shaft yet again with a delay slated for October 24th!

So we're getting the sh*t version? Or what? WHats gonna happen?
