Nintendo Gaming / RE: Nintendo DS Download Station Locator Online!
« on: April 09, 2006, 08:18:43 AM »
I wonder if some of those demos they have downloadable are the old E3 versions...

I noticed Mario Kart DS had some very 'pre-release' material for it, the music was a little tinny, for one, different DK voice, the older logo, older menu style and different sounds...

No control loss at all, in fact, the GBA version features 6 levels not in the SNES version.

So, hey its your call.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Comfortable Stylus
« on: March 26, 2006, 05:52:38 AM »
I actually have a stylus from a palm pilot, an ancient one, and use it on the DS. Since I play at home most of the time, my stylus is kept safe from harm.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Who's got mad programming skillz?

IRC lets you program bots that take in Friend codes, tell the stats of your Online record, favorite character and so forth. However the one I'm referring to doesnt quite help you match with others in your criteria...yet...

Maybe you could pop over to #mariokartds on esper.net to talk? [/shameless plug]

TalkBack / RE: Frogger Hits the Quarter Century Mark
« on: March 19, 2006, 12:34:39 PM »
I liked Pac-Man World 2, it was a fun romp of a game.

Back on topic, I dont even think a lot of people even care about Frogger these days. Pac-Man aged well, but Frogger isnt an 80's game I like very much, or even hear from others. Maybe once when I brought Konami Arcade Classics with my GBA one day but thats it.

Plus they didnt start trying to cash in on Frogger until the days of the 64 and Playstation, when they came out with the remake on Playstation that had a single player adventure. Then they came out with Frogger 2 around the time of the Dreamcast, and once the GCN/PS2/XBX era came in, they gave him this weird cartoony look, put some pants on and hey! Marketable cartoon character! (Not)

TalkBack / RE: RUMORS: Phoenix Wright Gets Appeal?

Amazon says J&R Music has a copy.

Edit: I also have evidence that Gamespot also contacted a Capcom represenative and said copies are indeed returning to store shelves

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6145876.html

Therefore I conclude with this evidence that Planet Gamecube met with a person who knew NOTHING!

This just cant be real...

So wait, we should bug the retailers to order more copies?

Lets go to the Capcom forums, then. Restock on Capcom.com for god sakes...

Remember that Treasure game where Buster went through a beat-em-up styled side scrolling adventure on the GBA?

It actually got released at the end of last year under "Scary Dreams" and now I'm mad, because it was also limited in release. Phoenix Wright limited! Why must this industry be so insecure about their games?! Why?!

I want a copy and I want to go through a legitimate store

http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=914297

(Also notice Gamestop had it listed as Scary Game, way to go dunder heads)

A lot of these levels seem to be borrowed from the previous Monkey Ball titles. You might as well as skip this and go for the ones on GCN, I havent really seen any levels that are new.

Yes, even the race levels seem to be borrowed...

Edit: Also, for multiplayer purposes, its very limited in Single Card. Only three of them are availible with no options: Race, Pong and Wars. I could say Monkey Hockey instead of Monkey Pong, but who is who kidding? The other modes, Golf, Bowling and Fight are not selectable on those modes, and Golf and Bowling doesnt feature a hot-seat multiplayer function. What gives? The GBA Monkey Ball title allowed you to do so...this makes no sense.

Oh well, this is quite a disappointment...

How does the touch screen controls work? Is it analog like in Mario 64? Or do you drag to roll it?

It sounds like one of those old printers. The actual shaking isnt even strong at all, but it kinda works. But not worth the purchase unless its free.

TalkBack / RE: Namco and Bandai Integrate in America

But their DS games have been top-notch. Wish I had the money for them, but alas...

120
Its also disappointing for this game to face problems like the sound popping out and the framerate to be dodgy, despite looking like a PS2 game, and running like one.

That said, I like the posessable objects. I was amazed to see the duck shooting game near the beginning was pulled off the way it was. But it certainly isnt worth the $50. Especially without LAN play for multiplayer.

If not...then meh, probably isnt worth it. Wish they'd push for 6 face buttons...

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Christamas is here what games did you get?
« on: January 05, 2006, 04:20:02 AM »
Since I bought all of the DS stuff I wanted, I just asked for three things.

DK King of Swing (GBA)
Mission Hill Complete Series (DVD)
CD Cassette Converter

I better start saving up quite a bit, me and my dad will be in some financial trouble for awhile =/

I have a horrible feeling that Bandai will just kick the Namco part of the name off and...well. Come out with a lot of crappy games for the rest of the span.

This was a horrible merger.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble!
« on: December 12, 2005, 03:10:04 PM »
Viewtiful Joe, I feel, is a better platform choice than Sonic Rush. Rush is way too short and very easy. The only difficulty comes from the cheap deaths that are abundant through the game.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Mario Kart DS - The Release Thread

On a lighter note, of the folks at www.gscentral.org found a way to play tracks that were 'removed' from online play to be played online.

http://www.gscentral.org/bb/viewtopic.php?t=764&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=25 (Look on second page)

Says that theres no real problems gameplay wise on your side, you'll see some weird things like other players' characters fall through the pipe in waluigi Stadium, but once they go through it, the game places their coordinates properly. Even battle levels can be played online, but the game still acts as if its in race mode, and things like falling off or firing a blue shell causes the game to freeze.
