TalkBack / Re: Alola Forms, Z-Moves Announced For Pokemon Sun And Moon
« on: August 04, 2016, 01:19:43 AM »
SMH, Alola forms are beyond stupid. This is basically them saying "we ran out of ideas for new Pokemon, so here is a blue Vulpix and Exeggutor with a long neck". At least Mega Evolutions were kinda cool, these are just lame and an excuse to not come up with new Pokemon.

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo News Report: NX Rumors Grab Tegra By The Tail
« on: July 27, 2016, 06:47:49 PM »
If the rumors of the NX being less powerful than the PS4 are true, then I will be majorly disappointing. The NX is supposed to be part of the next gen (meaning AFTER PS4 and X1). It would have been like if the GameCube had been less powerful than the PS1. Even being just as powerful as PS4 would be bad, it needs to be more powerful than the PS4 Neo and X1 Scorpio.

TalkBack / Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf Getting An Amiibo Update
« on: July 20, 2016, 07:22:30 PM »
Amiibo Festival wasn't a bad game, though the Amiibo function was pretty useless (essentially it just picked the avatar you used in the mini-games). Happy Home Designer sucks though, it's pretty much just the home arranging part of the Animal Crossing games and I always hate that part.

Still a good value, The selection of games is pretty good (well, Castlevania II has problems), which average out to $2 each. And it comes with a controller you can use for the Wii.

VR has failed to take off so far, it's gotten niche sales. And the only time VR is in the news now is like when Oculus blocked fans from illegally porting their games to the HTC Vive. VR has yet to take off and won't until some major hurdles get solved (first is the price because even the base devices are super expensive, second is that they require a large amount of space, third is that you need a powerful computer)

Nice intervie.w, and sorry for the panic attacks. But Max does come across as very bitter about multiple people and the site and angry at times

I didn't like the weird design of Goomy > Sliggoo > Goodra as Dragon types and I don't really like it with Jijiron either. Dragon types should be the baddest looking motherfuckers in the game. Come on! Hopefully it's the first or the second evolution of something that looks a bit cooler in the end.

The Dratini line looks  about as un-badass as possible. Heck, Dragonite is powerful but looks very cutesy.

I will just say that Twilight Princess is vastly superior to the crap known as Majora's Mask (which is easily the worst 3D Zelda). Twilight Princess is still a great game.

TalkBack / Re: Devil's Third Online Service Ending In December
« on: June 23, 2016, 02:10:15 PM »
Not surprising. Nintendo of America didn't even want to publish the game because it was so terrible (and only changed their mind because some sadists wanted them to release the game even if it sucked), and when they did release it they did so in very small amounts (some GameStop stores only got 1 or 2 copies), even the re-sellers were not able to sell many online because no one wanted the game.

Actually, The Lost Valley has the better claim to being the true successor. Not only does Natsume own the rights to the name, but the game also stars Pete from the original game. Calling Story of Seasons the successor is like saying Mighty No. 9 is the next lineal Mega Man game.

Has there ever been an official explanation for why the original Contra doesn't get re-released? The other NES/SNES entries have been released on multiple Virtual Consoles, but never the original game.

« on: May 02, 2016, 11:01:09 AM »
Never forget that Pokémon Black and Pokémon White had voice (and video!) chat.

Though IIRC, the video chat was local only. That made it pretty much worthless unless you were on one floor of a house and using it with someone on another floor of your house because it had a range of like 30 feet.

If he didn't have permission to upload this footage, he can pretty much say goodbye to ever getting to beta test Nintendo products again.

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo World Report Announces Patreon Campaign
« on: April 19, 2016, 11:34:46 PM »
There's too much other stuff these days demanding my money for me to fund this (and honestly, I'm tired of stuff going to Patreon in general), but I wish the site well if this is the only way it can survive these days.

Some people do better stuff with it than others. I am not a big fan of locking good stuff behind it. Pat the NES Punk has a bi-weekly podcast called the Completely Unnecessary Podcast, Patreon supports get a video version of it (though he posts clips on YouTube) and gets the podcast a day earlier. That is a good use.

TalkBack / Re: Super Mario World Review Revisit
« on: April 02, 2016, 03:13:39 PM »
In my mind, this is easily the best Mario game ever (yes SMB3 is good, but SMW is better in every way). I've bought this game on every platform Nintendo has released it. Since I don't know if i'll ever get a New 3DS though, I may not get this release because Nintendo chose to make them exclusive to the New 3DS (I highly doubt the original 3DS isn't powerful enough to emulate the SNES).

TalkBack / Re: DSi Shop Winding Down Over Next Year
« on: March 31, 2016, 07:23:22 PM »
The DSi came out in November 2008, that seems long enough IMO. And I am not sure how many people own a DSi, but not a 3DS. It's not like people can't still buy the DSiWare games, they just won't be able to on the DSi itself.

TalkBack / Re: New Details Emerge For Zero Time Dilemma

CERO is the rating board in Japan. "A" is for All Ages, "B" is for ages 12 and up, "C" is for ages 15 and up, "D" is for ages 17 and up, "Z" is for ages 18 and up.

What is a CERO Z rating?

Basically Japan's version of the M rating from the ESRB.

Minor correction, it's Nintendo Land (not Nintendoland). Some good choices, especially Tropical Freeze.

TalkBack / Re: SNES Games Now Available on New 3DS Virtual Console
« on: March 03, 2016, 06:44:32 PM »
The games are not so intensive that they couldn't put them on the regular 3DS (in fact, 3DS Ambassadors have some SNES games), so very disappointing that they are only on the New 3DS.

173
Losing the Wii Remote controls is a BIG negative because it's why the Wii version was so much better than the GameCube version. I think they should have based it off the superior Wii version.

TalkBack / Re: Pokemon Sun and Moon Announced For 3DS
« on: February 26, 2016, 06:54:25 PM »
Why is anyone surprised that there is no Pokemon Z? Black and White didn't get a 3rd version either. So maybe now that both Generation V and VI didn't get 3rd versions, maybe people won't be asking for a "Pokemon Earth" in a couple of years.
