But we don't live in a perfect world, people are going to break the law no matter what it says, likewise people are always going to abuse the law no matter what it says. The best we can do is give law enforcement the tools they need to protect the rights of the citizens they serve and to bring the law breakers to justice. It is not a perfect system but it is as close as we as humans are ever going to get.

What other differences are there besides size? I thought the XL just had a larger screen.

Yes do this, I will not only subscribe but I will gladly contribute to a project such as this. What kinds of videos would you do though? I wouldn't worry about what is over done on Youtube if it's good content then people will watch your channel too.

based on suggestions, and doing some reading elsewhere I made my short list as follows

Zelda OOT 3d

Mario 3d land

DKC Returns 3D

Shinobi

Sonic Generations

Castlevania

Zelda Link Between Worlds

Resident Evil Revelations

Street Fighter IV

that should hold me over till new years when I will be deciding which console to get PS4 or Wii U.

Yeah I just skimmed through the Wikipedia article on 3DS games and I am impressed even more than I was before. I won't be buying anything digital ever unless it is on Steam.

just skimming through the thread but I noticed it mentioned "other N64 ports" first question which ones, how many? And are  they downloads are can I get them used on carts? I know DS had a remake of Mario 64 and I really loved that one, aside from the terrible controls.

I am in the minority but I prefer Dreamworks over Pixar anyways. But I did like Cars but one was more than enough.

Movies & TV / Re: Rate the last movie you've seen
« on: August 18, 2013, 12:42:50 PM »
I just had a Resident Evil marathon and I gotta say those movies are just dragging things on. I liked the first two okay but by the third it was just getting ridiculous and the fourth was too much. I haven't seen the fifth yet and I still can't believe they already greenlit a sixth and seventh.

New movies the only ones I seen this year are Avengers, and GI Joe. I liked Avengers a lot but it took multiple viewings because there was too much going on to follow it the first time. GI Joe was no where near as good as the first awesome one.

It isn't new but I did finally finish the Running Man recently, I always started it but for some reason or another never could get to the end, and I gotta say I really liked it a lot.

I just watched Empire Strikes Back on Blu Ray for the first time since I got the boxed set, well it was sorta Empire Strikes Back but apparently Lucas had to tinker some more so it is only like 75% the same movie now.

all proposals I support. If you can't do the time don't do the crime.

I think that is just typical for Nintendo, their games always seem to be missing something one way or another and they always charge full price so this is nothing new. Even back in the SNES days multiplatform games often looked slightly better on SNES but tended to have more content on Genesis. It's just the way things are.

General Chat / Re: Which laptop would you recommend?
« on: August 17, 2013, 10:51:55 PM »
My samsung Laptop has been as durable as all my Samsung Products, my TV and my phones from what I can say in my experience they sure can take a lot of abuse. I have dropped mine down the stairs and after a reformat of the hard drive it works good as new. My Toshiba fell off the couch and was damaged beyond repair so this was a warranty replacement. So I would never recommend Toshiba if you happen to have butterfingers.

Not all of them but I did see most of the old ones and the movie too. Even the old movies that were just barely had anything to do with Doctor Who. To be honest though Doctor Who/Torchwood is about the limit of my tolerance of British tv shows so it could be that too.

As for Torchwood, yes the first season was the best but season two was still mostly good, three was alright but I just hate how it ended. As far as I am concerned the Miracle Day never happened.

As for the old Doctors, I really only liked the first two and then the one from the movie.

My current laptop is a Samsung, it was an Office Max assurance replacement for my Toshiba that died and they could never get it fixed properly, so I second the stay away from Toshiba. I am in the market myself for a newer laptop, something with a fast as hell cpu and a decent graphics card. My Toshiba had a Blu Ray built in but since nothing I have looked at since does I ended up just getting an external writer anyways. HP has always been crap.

I meant Matt Smith, I haven't seen the newest Doctor. I loved all three seasons of Torchwood, the Starz one doesn't count though that was a mess. My favorite Doctor so far has been Eccleston followed by David Tennant, I don't care for Matt Smith at all.

Question? Is this TJ Spyke the same spike from a few years ago or was this someone else? Just curious not trying to dig up any trouble.

The show is incredibly offensive sure but what mainstream sitcom isn't offensive to someone? Controversy is what makes good comedy.

I have yelled at the TV on more than one occasion for that very thing, especially their constant contradictions as well as complete lack of understanding the rift between Star Wars and Star Trek fans.

But nerds and geeks are not the same, geeks are just wanna be nerds who just don't get it.
I still like the show despite how offensive it is because it is still funny and like most real nerds, I can relate to it on so many levels. Stereotypes are okay for comedy because that is what makes it comedy, you think Roseanne is a true and accurate portrayal of lower class suburban American life? Bullshit it is pure hollywood stereotyping at its worst and yet it still related to those same folks it offended. If someone is so offended by a comedy that can't take a joke then that person has a problem.

Why I like the show personally is for all the negative stereotyping it does it still portrays the characters as real people who are aware of their shortcomings, instead of in the old days like Screech or Urkel where they were deliberately trying to be offensive.

Well to be honest I never owned any Xbox console and so far this one is not looking like it will change my mind. I wouldn't mind picking up a used 360 but the first one is a joke, there is nothing on it I can't get elsewhere that I would ever play.

I happen to have OOT on N64, Gamecube Collectors Edition Disk, and had it on Wii VC so I am good there. Unless it is a substantial improvement in graphics I am fine with playing it on my Laptop.

I never cared for Ridge Racer or DOA to be honest. But that Street Fighter IV and New Super Mario Bros are two games that have me sold already. I think it sucks that Nintendo's handhelds continue to do so well but their consoles still get the shaft.

Those all sound like great suggestions. I will have to look at the Virtual Console and digital stuff latter. I am looking at getting used so I am not sure what my options will be but I think the XL is most likely it.

Yeah I am hoping to get a few good games when I pick it up. I took a really long break from gaming due to various personal reasons and now I am at a point where it is all I want to do again and I just missed out on so much.

I like Sega's Shining Force but I never tried Fire Emblem so I might look into that I hear nothing but good things from it. I sold my Wii when it looked like it was on the decline, around 08 I think, and I sort of lost interest from there so I haven't played anything newer than Wii Play I think was the last game I bought.

Is that DKC returns anything like SNES DKC or is it like the crappy GC stuff? I didn't like any of the DK games on N64 or GC they just were not appealing to me at all.

Quick question before I go look up some videos, is Mario 3D Land anything like the upcoming 3d world game? And will they be compatible in any way? That is the one game that might push me into getting a Wii U over a PS4, or at least first.

I gave up on Fall Out New Vegas, I reached some sort of dead end before the game even got interesting so I will have to start that one over from the beginning when I get around to playing it again.

I tried to get into FF12 but it is not happening so far, the story is so boring and the battle system is not much of a system. it is like just an interactive movie but all you have to do is go from one checkpoint to the next nothing to fun there.

I did try this game called Maximo and so far I am really loving that. It is a PS2 I guess remake or modern take on Ghosts N Goblins or something like that anyways its awesome and lots of fun. I like those types of games pick up and play no BS getting in the way. I like a game to have a deep story but not to get in the way of the actual game.

As soon as I get bored with that I will be either trying God of War next or if I get my 3DS before then whatever games I get with that. I took too long of a break from gaming I missed out on so much.

Jack in the Box....oh so awesome...nothing beats a sour dough jack

and the taco bell thing....i like taco bell and i like REAL Mexican food....
you see they taste completely different if you didnt know(like if you lived in australia
or the midwest you prolly wouldnt have much exposure to Mexican culture...or the real thing)
I like both......its like choosing between going to a chinese resturant and an itallian restraunt...taco bell is soemthing different. I like the grilled stuff burritos..except the sauce thats on it....but otherwise their awesome..also i like chalupas and goprditas.

Yes I agree Jack in the box is best, but we don't have those here where I am at now so sad. We have this place called Runza that is really good though. I hate Mc D's, Wendy's is ok and BK sucks. but my favorite is Taco Bell.

Nintendo Gaming / Getting a 3DS
« on: August 17, 2013, 12:30:04 PM »
I have wanted one for a while, well a DS to be honest I had one before but sold it for financial reasons. Anyways I am now in a place where I can manage to get back into spending money and the 3DS looks amazing, so I have a few quick questions.

Does it play all the previous DS games up to now? If yes that is great gives me someplace to start.

Second question, can anyone recommend five games specific to 3dS for a first time buyer?

I am more of an traditional/old school type gamer so like the quirky funky new experimental stuff usually doesn't appeal to me much. I know there is/are a/some New Mario bros games so I expect I will start with those, anything else of note I should be aware of? I like to just ask fans for suggestions to get a start because reading reviews and searching the web is tedious and often misleading.

Anyways I plan on getting my machine by the end of next week and I hope to grab a few games with it. I am somewhat concerned about price so chances are I will be going the used or refurbished route.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Why can't I get into Pokemon?
« on: August 17, 2013, 12:25:39 PM »
I am one of the few who just doesn't get it at all. I have played through the first one, blue i think, a few times but I always get stuck at the same part and even by then I am forcing myself to keep playing until I finally give up and move on. I want to like the game because it looks cool but I don't know I just can't get into it no matter how hard I try, same thing happened with Pikmin I really wanted to like that game it looked fun but it got overwhelming and boring right away. I would like to go back and try again someday but I think my tastes are geared towards simpler games anyways. I never considered Pokemon an RPG though I find it strange others do.
