RPS points out that the "bribes" are usually just some cheap trinkets that wouldn't really sway anyone: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/10/26/the-flare-path-blows-the-whistle/
I point out that RPS and Eurogamer are one and the same company.

PS not gonna read it of course, since as i said i blocked them.

I have yet to play Knytt Stories, but most of what I've heard/seen looks interesting.
Oh, Knytt stories. Great game. There is also another game by the same guy called "Withtin the Deep forest" -- i liked it better back then because it gave you all abilities at once from the beginning.

I think it also exist as homebrew on DS...

First post after original in a thread.

Read it at neogaf.

Disgusted.

Added eurogamer to my url blocking list.

Made mental note to laugh at and disown this Lauren character if her material will crop up at forums in the future.

Also, what a horrible first post.

If for nothing else, i'm going to enjoy sense of humour.

I remember that half an hour footage.

I smiled every time when that poor Toad whose mushroom hat was almost cut by scissors appeared. His almost cut off part was hanging and waving so funny.

Directs are better than nothing.

Even if i lost my 3DS and it's not even my region...

They will probably catch up to last european direct with Crashmo and 3ds bundles.

Why buy a game console when PC's can do all that and more?
But can it play Uncharted?

apparently the Wii U is also going to be sold at a loss (initially).
Why should i care?

I am in it for games not for tech or price comparisons.

Are we talking PS3 or 360 controller here?
360, as i said.

For adapting to a new controller in general, you have to put in a lot of time with it.
Button and stick placement is no problem at all. I play on gamecube, classic pro, xbox controller -- everything, as long dual analog isn't involved.

Oh and actual twin stick shooters (wii Centipede, Geometry Wars both on wii and xbox, Lara Croft and Guardian of Light) are of course play smooth as butter and i enjoy them a whole lot.

Even freaking Kid Icarus and Metroid Prime Hunters i can control (and i am a lefty!). But not dual analog.

Played it years ago on PC.

It was kinda eh back then, i see nothing really had changed with transition.

It's too easy and you just breeze through screens so fast, atmosphere is lost on you. It's kinda neat though, visuals and ambiance. Of course once you unlock hard difficulty it gets more interesting, but i think by that time the game already lost me.

And there was something about hiring some semi-famous (cave story guy?) for this game's story, only to discover that it's extremely thin. Even Mario games have more substantial story than that.

I would have cared back then three (or two? i forgot) years ago, but Nicalis is just so outrageously slow with releases i can't feel nothing but slight annoyance.

General Gaming / Dual analog -- help me
« on: October 22, 2012, 08:23:43 AM »
I can't deal with it. At all.

I get extremely frustrated trying to work it. It's like my entire body, brain and fingers resist while i try to play that way.

In third person games it's a tad better but still pretty bad once i try aiming.

And it isn't just analog aiming. I tried RE5 and Gears 3 demo on 360 and just gave up trying to remember all combinations of triggers i have to press at the same time sometimes going up to three buttons for pretty mundane things like melee. I can play pretty complicated musical pieces on piano just fine, but this?..

Also tried tutortial for Vanquish demo, and i think my brain just broke halfway through. Especially when i boosted (AR mode it was called i think) and had to circle along the walls, i just couldn't make camera show me what i want while i was moving at the same time. Had similar experiences with Infamous on shop demo unit.

What should i do? I really wish to learn this, so that i would play games where dual analog is the only available option.

As one can guess, i am mouse keyboard guy, and i had zero problems with wii games that used wiimote+nunchuck.

Any techniques, advices? Already tried all combinations of inverting (i think vertical inverse horizontal normal works for me a tad "better", but it's still shitty and unplayable for me). Maybe i should tinker with speed?

How is their voice solutions now?

I remember it was pretty shitty in Brain Training, but i think i remember people saying it was okay in Pokemon Black&White?

No one is allowed to complain about having difficulty finishing a book till they've read a James Joyce novel. Uggggghhghghghghghghghghg.
I took Ulysses from a university library. It was kinda neat with references and such, but yeah hard to get through.

I got through four chapters and then lost the book. I kinda got bent on actually finishing it so i ordered a new one with kickass hardcover and twice as big. Once i got it i didn't want to give it away to library, so i just payed it off.

The edition i got was interesting as such like only 40% of the book was the book itself. Most of it was references chapter by chapter at the end. And footnotes. Yes, both references and footnotes. And despite that they were typed in half as small font they still took the majority of pages in a book :D

I still have yet to read further than 4th chapter. :D

LOL, I wonder how many people have enough disposable income to spend $1,669.75 +tax on the Wii U and every launch game?
I do.

She probably is one of those people that likes to resell things on eBay.
I wish her good luck selling Mass Effect 3 special edition.

One should be more open-minded to be on nintendo themed podcast, i kinda shook my head when Phineas and Ferb was shunned just because: "-- why would you watch this? -- have you watched it? -- nooooo....".

Come on. P&F is actually pretty good and some of the song are just brilliant.

Hydroventure (Fluidity)

Beat the last influence ("boss") level. Damn it was hard. That place where you have to throw a cog over a very high rock and then come back is just brutal. At first i couldn't believe that this is what exactly i am supposed to do since it was hard at first and had to check walkthrough video to check if it's indeed what am i required to do there.

Collected all drops with just a few puzzles missing.

Loved the overall feel of the game, music, art all contributing to the look and feel of a school textbook or PSA poster. Clean, inoffensive imagery, soothing music and a great gameplay make for a great game.

Controls were okay, i saw many complaints for jump being tied to shake (which is BS cause it's fine imo), which makes me think these people didn't actually played the game up to world 3. Because cloud form you unlock there is much worse. I think i had to reverse cloud form controls it in options for it to start make sense. But once i did that, it clicked. A few of the challenges i felt were too harsh for this controls though (like that one spot in last influence level).

Still overall the game is built competently around controls and around the fact that you are a body of fluid.

Loved the upgrades system and how you unlocked more and more of your abilities to explore more of the world. I wish rainbow drops you already collected wouldn't get in the way, because if you touch them the game stops and you are teleported back to start point of the page. I get that it's kinda of Mario 64 system, but why would you do that in Metroid-style game?

Which Fluidity totally is. And i'm sad to see the overworld go in 3ds game.

I checked Nintendo channel yesterday and i think i clocked a whooping 20+ hours into it. Really enjoyed it.

Thanks a lot, ejamer!

Found all the drops but i still have to find last 5 puzzle pieces.

I know where at least one is (in the world 3 on the left page right where that above and left of that center area) it seems like it's behind a breakable wall in there but i can't get there as ice block...

Whatever, does this game have significant 100% bonus? Because if it doesn't besides text bubble congratulating me that i collected all rainbow drops i don't feel looking for last puzzle pieces.

Starhawk is a kind of game you've never really seen on a Nintendo platform, and would be a nice niche to be able to fill internally.
Isn't Battallion Wars series similar to it?

I don't know much about either series.

Notice how these characters are exclusive to the Wii U version-- the only one with the editor in the first place.
PC version should also have an editor.

3198
"With Wii U, we can now bring you matter transportation and faster-than-light travel!"

"Darn you, Iwata!  Boys, let's get to work!"
There is a very good sci fi short story about that. By Heinlein i think. Or Asimov.

Well Vince Gilligan admitted that they're just making up Breaking Bad as they go along
As far as i know they've got the outline for at least one flash forward ahead, and later as season goes, they fill in the details.

As long as there is at least some thought and some foreplanning involved, i'm fine. Ideally -- you're fixed in number of seasons and know exactly what you're doing in each of them and how you want your character to be like.

Beast Boy (from Teen Titans) is Mikey? The voices sound so alike...
Yep. I really like his voice. Others are some Hollywood guys, one of them is American Pie guy and the other one is Samwise. Oh and April is Katara i think.

I hate the new character designs. Why are they so angular? It's like they took Bruce Timm's (Batman: TAS, Superman: TAS) character designs and mashed them with CG animation, which does not look good together.
I see nothing wrong with angularity. And it's not really Timm style. Check Green Lantern cartoon to see how Timm's style looks in CGI. Even GL is actually a very good show, but comparing them in animation and designs, TMNT looks much better.

And there is only so many styles you can draw turtles in. Even 2003 show's designs were pretty angular, being drawn and all.

Like I said, I've been watching Battlestar Galactica again and introducing it to some friends of mine. We just finished season two, so it's pretty much all downhill from here.
Yeah, at first i really believed that creators indeed have some plan for this show, but in later season it became pretty apparent they just make it as they go, which i hate.

After first two season, i think they only good moments were revelation of the five (?) but that was the last spot.
