Nintendo Gaming / Re: Wii U in Review (News & Rumor Consolidation)

There is a livestream with a guy playing Nintendo Land going on for entire day.

I like the music in NL if anything.

Did we know Nintendo had finally ditched the whole "blocks" thing and started using real standard data measurements?
Yes:

I'm really hoping Wii U becomes a PC port haven, a sort of console version of steam with retain and indie PC projects. Touch screen controller really opens up the input options for PC style games.
Nintendo should have bought Blizzard when they had the chance. They could have Starcraft, Diablo and/or WoW working on WiiU in no time.

There aren't that many developers who said anything at all about how possible or not their new games are on WiiU.

Off the top of my head: Kojima with Ground Zero and Ancel with Beyond Good and Evil 2.

Local multiplayer in ZombiU/CoD/Madden/FIFA. At least some of those support classic controllers or other Wii control options, but the Classic Controller is such an inelegant solution, having to be tethered to a Wii remote
Can you even use Classic Controller in ZombieU?

Judging by back of the cover you can't in Assasin's Creed III and it pisses me off because i don't feel like buying yet another wii dual stick controller when i already have one working just fine.

They had me at "Nintendo."
Same here. Patcher's right for once, Nintendo could release a card board box with "Nintendo" written on it and i'd probably buy it.
Pachter (just like many others) is being dismissive here, when he says "those braindead nintendo zombies will eat up everything".

It's a comfortable thing to say that doesn't require any actual thought or analysis from posters and, disappointingly, is accepted as a genuine answer.

I just read neogaf's thread about vita bombing in japan and more than a few people said: "well duh! Nintendo always wins in handhelds".

No, you doofuses. It took quite a lot of effort to get there and it was nothing but an automatic win.

I hate notion that nintendo fans are dumb religious zealots that are there on default and winning their attention and money is easy.

I know what i need to know. I'm buying Wii U for NSMB U. And i know that this game is at launch.

Not because i'm some kind of dumb moron who jumps at everything with Nintendo brand on it, but because i FREAKING LOVE NSMB Wii game and had blast playing it with my friends. Why the hell am i looked down and called a moron now?

I buy my consoles for games.

I'm buying Wii U for Mario. For Bayonetta, Scribblenauts and Rayman.

Not because it has Nintendo slapped on it.

As a consumer i was informed quite well about the most important features of the console:

Nintendo Land -- skip
Mario -- buy
Bayonetta -- wait
Rayman -- buy when it comes (dammit Ubisoft)

TalkBack / Re: Limited Edition Nintendo 3DS XL Bundles Dated for Europe
« on: November 14, 2012, 02:16:50 AM »
Give me a bundle with NSMB2, NoE.

I miss my lost 3ds. I had NSMB2 on it digitally and want to finish it.

A dozen of 3ds carts are not gonna play themselves.

Still, it was good for my backlog, Wii became my main gaming machine so far. Also it helps that lineup of upcoming 3ds games isn't really good, so i can hold off buying new XL for now.

TalkBack / Re: Wreck-It Ralph: A Movie Review
« on: November 13, 2012, 02:14:00 AM »
Probably my favourite movie i've seen this year.

Game references were pretty shallow but i think it's for the better that movie could stand on it's own plot and characters without being just a reference pool.

3135
Penta Tentacles is a superior name ;p

Skyfall is pretty mediocre.

Pretty much the only thing saving it is fanservice: Moneypenny, car, new M's room in the end

I wouldn't recommend it.

3137
That's where Triforce stands, right?

Eurogamer have just publicly updated their editorial policies in light of Doritosgate.
How about apologizing to the writer who they fired after the first threat of libel suit and publicly apologizing to everyone for editing his article?

Still in my ignore list.

Saw Wreck It Ralph on thw weekend and enjoyed. Lots of good VG cameos. Mostly forgettable kid fluff, but looks good, has decent sense of humour. I recommend catching up with it at your leisure.
Best movie i've seen this year. Everyone should go and see it.

Videogame stuff is mostly shallow cameos.

Apparently, updates are needed even to load Wii games.

Not a problem for me, but that's a bad form from Nintendo.

I would reccomend people to wacth the polygon documentary.
These jokers are THE biggest stain on "games journalism". One of them is the famous "dancing with Skyrim" guy.

NintenDaanNC has uploaded a bunch of trailers for Nintendo Land

I am really disappointed about F Zero game using gyro.

Pikmin game looks just stunning and gameplay is also very interesting.

But overall -- no, still skipping this game...

I freaking love Miis.

Having an representation of yourself in a game is great idea. And seeing Miis or your friends and relatives popping up randomly in background during the game always evokes that feeling: "hey look! hey, it's Bob, hey!".

More Mii integration i say.

I'm disappointed they haven't mentioned 3ds in any way.

It's a bummer we still don't have accounts for portable handhelds that are easy to lose or get stolen.

TalkBack / Re: Wii to Wii U System Transfer Process Detailed
« on: November 07, 2012, 10:42:32 PM »
Does it go away from your Wii, or is still there?
It should go away... I think.

When you do DSi to 3DS transfer your game disappear from old DSi, right?

Good news, will transfer my Wii stuff to Wii U to play with slightly better image quality (also my Wii component cable is acting up and randomly screws up the picture you have to touch it or move it around to make it normal).

I am three hours in and just beat first boss on first dungeon. That was surprisingly easy provided you have ninja stars.

Enjoying the game so far.

3147
Swapnote on 3ds was really addicting.

I'm glad they're making their entire system around it.

3148
While I'm elated that they're finally doing this, am I the only one who is annoyed that the region receiving the system last gets the info first? Not sure how that makes sense... but then again... Nintendo.  :Q
Well, i don't know, maybe that's because Nintendo is well, you know, they are like... japanese company?..

They should have clarified this earlier, i'm still getting the system regardless but knowing what you're getting beforehand would have been nice.

3149
They should ask Zen Pinball guys for performance tips for 3DS.
