Nintendo Gaming / Re: What can Wonderful 101 learn from Bayonetta?

I only fought Vorkken once but his main weakness I found was that he'll happily attempt to punch your pudding form even if you initiate it pretty early. I mean, I'm crap at fighting games and even I wouldn't fall for that.

Overall the game just feels amazing though.

As far as Scribblenauts go, that game is really best played with a keyboard as you need to type a LOT.

A Lego City pack? Now? Guess the game's been selling well.

I mean that as in scaling the booths up, more demo machines for each game. Is it harder to get to the CeBit or Spiel expos than the Gamescom? I haven't been to the Cologne version of Gamescom so I don't know how much of the Messe space is used up but neither CeBit nor Spiel take up more than half of their respective expo grounds so there's plenty of space to use for non-booth stuff.

Sounds to me that the solution would be making it bigger, not smaller. Add loads more demo machines. If Köln Messe is too small for that expansion we have other cities available with bigger Messen.

Fridge? I have an external HDD. Was quite cool to see the Wii U automatically choose where to download games to, Warriors Orochi 3 went to the internal memory (and clogged it up completely), Pikmin 3 automatically went onto the HDD.

I wonder how the touch screen stuff will work in the PS3 and 360 versions of the game.

From what I read a while ago, not very well.

Nintendo made an exclusivity deal with Gamestop, didn't they? So GS decided to order a new run of copies and sell them used while nobody else can get another run so GS gets to dictate the prices. Nintendo can't print more because they cannot sell it through another retailer and if GS doesn't want more copies N can't do anything about it.

I recently threw away the manual and box for Ninja Cop (European version of Ninja Five-O), that probably reduced its resale value a lot but I'm not planning to sell the cart anyway.

Is that bullet hell? I didn't know the NES could do that.

I've got a collection of Capcom arcade games on the PS2, almost all of the shmups have a similar spinning shooter mechanic as Mii Force does. Also MF even has the bubble wave weapon from R-Type!

Yeah, Evoland is pretty bad. Looks nice but the jokes aren't very well done and the random encounters are just godawful. I'm currently on the final boss, didn't go for the optional stuff after getting the airship so maybe that would make it easier but as it is I can't be arsed to finish that fight after seeing that there are no checkpoints.

That's great, it's just a shame that Nintendo digital prices are ridiculously over-priced to begin with.

Really? They're identical to the regular store prices. Sure, some stores go down by up to 5€ but not even consistently.

I think it's about what happens when you are in charge of murphy yourself.

242
Ah, I remember the sheer brutality of MM1 on the GB. The main problem was that the screen was so small so they reduced Mega Man's jump height to two blocks (his standing height) which makes jumping over anything your own size very difficult. I later played an NES MM and was surprised how damn easy it was in comparison.

As far as source code I'm not sure that would really help with a port anyway since we're talking about an ancient system here, the most you could gleam from that is enemy logic but reusing any code is likely impossible. Ripping the graphical and sound assets from a cartridge would get you most of the reusable material.

243
Hell yeah, I'm totally in!

Eurogamer said that Murphy (the gamepad controlled guy) is present on all systems and the lack of a touchscreen hurts those other versions.

Hm, no edit button?

I think the reason that bad games don't impact the series sales until the next iteration simply is that you can't return a game after it turns out crap so the purchasing factors are advertising, word of mouth and the quality of the previous title.

I didn't buy the game so I'm a contributor here. I don't like oppressive atmospheres in games.

It's actually Uncle Bob's plan to make sure nobody else gets as big of a collection as he has.
