So now I have a Reggie and a Neal Mii...

The mii creator gave me a look that you'd see on fox-like anime characters. Closed eyes, 3 mouth... |3

Those Apogee guys are imitators, the real Apogee renamed into 3D Realms. And yeah...

The Game Stop here has preorder boxes for this game, I was already wondering if that was maybe an orphaned database entry.

NoE may have been the distributor for Koei for a while already. This 3€ copy of Dynasty Warriors Advance (a decent game ruined by the series' trademark godawful checkpointing) that I picked up included a Club Nintendo card and those are supposedly only given to games distributed by Nintendo itself.

EDIT: Turns out the game's quick save mechanism isn't a suspend save like other GBA games have, it's actually a PC-style quick save.

Oh man, when the system is set to German it won't let you enter the # sign in a WPA passphrase. I had to set my system to English to input ours.

Fucking hell, I failed to get the screen protectors on without getting a lot of dust on the sticky side.

Yesterday I asked my local electronics store to reserve a 3DS for me, they didn't ask for the 50€ downpayment that their ads talked about but when I went there to pick it up today they still had a full shelf of the things so whatever. The system itself was 222€ there, instead of the 250€ it's everywhere else. Unfortunately I bought a screen protector pack for 5€ that I failed to get on there (first misread the instructions and tried to apply it sticky side up so it was dusted by the time I corrected that, later attempts with cut down bits of the top screen cover or a DSi cover I had left didn't work out at all) so that was a waste of money.

Kororinpa and Bomberman are all Hudson is good for these days. Did the world really need Deca Sports 2, never mind 4?

I think it's just that dungeon surroundings are such special-built set pieces that even venturing outside would feel like you're still inside the dungeon.

Hm, games for children... What did I play back in the day?

Pong. Pac-Man. Any Super Mario Bros games. R-Type. Gradius. Galaga. Megaman. There's a coop-enabled version of R-Type on the XBLA store.

Speaking of impulse purchases, I got Batman: The Brave and the Bold for a tenner today (I don't need to be in a specific mood to buy an interesting game for a tenner but I guess in America that's not as rare as it is here). I considered getting Pokemon HeartGold after seeing it marked down to 30€ but I think I can get Black for 33€ if that offer hasn't expired yet. For someone who hasn't played anything after Red (with the exception of Rumble) which is the better choice?

You got way better plushies than we do, the best I could find was this 25cm Yoshi that needs to be propped up to stand. I remember seeing a huge Yoshi back when I was a kid (around the SMW launch), I could have ridden on that one but it cost 200 DM (100€ plus inflation adjustments) and as a kid I couldn't even remotely afford that one. I'd buy that one in a heartbeat now just for the nostalgia.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllll... The differences between pre-OOT and post-OOT Zelda are one of the key topics on Sean Malstrom's blog.

Aonuma stated that he sucked at fighting in Zelda, he couldn't even beat the Octorocks in the original LoZ, that's why he changed Zelda to be all about puzzles and changed items from power upgrades into glorified keys. The old Zeldas were much more about combat, recent Zeldas have been way too easy on the combat side while overcomplicating it. Twilight Princess gave you a crapload of combat moves but didn't provide enemies that you'd actually need to use them on. The only difficult part about the fight with Ganondorf is figuring out that you have to do one specific move in order to trigger the next cutscene, it's nowhere close to an all-out swordfight. By now the sword is more of a token thing you carry around.

Bosses also moved from hard fights that you had to beat by fighting well to puzzles that needed to be repeated three times to win. In LttP you beat bosses by hitting them with your sword, not by spamming your new item until the boss is stunned before landing a few token blows with your sword.

I'm pretty sure third parties would get angry if their games were worth fewer points than first party ones. In the end the customer is paying the same amount of money.

There's now a free weekend on Steam with the PC version (it's also 33% off). Just check your games library, it should show up there.

1144
Also if you're from outside North America keep in mind that the system is region locked, you'll have to buy all games from the same region as the system itself.

They had a volcanic eruption too?

;_; poor japan. Better drop that Wii price quick, it's the only thing that will save them.

No, he's confusing that with Disaster: Day of Crisis.

1146
It's pure speculation. If it was priced at 250 I'd be interested but I doubt it. Sony would have shouted that from the rooftops if they really could match the 3DS's price.

Oh, like 3D makes some huge difference. Who cares?

I just wish he wanted to Experience a new Hyrule in 3D with a new Zelda game, rather than tweaking Ocarina of Time.

I'm guessing this is all Iwata is willing to let him do until Skyward Sword is done.

So Nathan doesn't mind being called Mufasa but what about Mohammed?

Seriously?

Well, half the people who are called Mustafa as one of their names have Mohammed as the other...

All the advertising in the world can't save you if your game is about something that people don't care about. People don't care about abstract lines.
