Yeah, I don't think there will be any surprises tomorrow.

Yeah, Soul Axiom was one of my favorite demos. The run speed needs to be a little faster though.

2328
Gosh, I hope this has a decent single player campaign.

2329
This might be the best year for Wii U software but when one of those games is Mario Tennis it feels like a hollow victory.

In any case, I'm surprised at the amount of content on 3DS too, seeing how that hardware is reaching the end of its usefulness.

The Amiibo audience SHOULD NOT be Nintendo's audience, especially after last year, when they put out such a good show for gamers. Hilariously, Iwata has said they have taken the reaction to heart, but what does that really mean? They'll try to show off better game than what they have already started developing for the next year? Wow, that's reassuring.

2331
What Federation Forces needs is a solid single player portion, something engaging enough to feel "Metroid Prime-like" without feeling like a soulless cash-in. If they try to appeal to the players that saw Echoes and the slaughter of those troopers as a harrowing experience, they have a better chance at selling this game. I mean, the multiplayer aspect has its own selling point,as does Blast Ball. But they need to appeal to the single player, isolationist mindset in order to truly capture the Metroid audience. Sometimes doing something different doesn't always help.

2332
Until they show something on their streaming/announcement schedule, I can't believe it.

Even then, the fact that they would book a developer roundtable for Zelda Wii U that early isn't convincing, since they probably new before 215 ended that the game wouldn't be coming this year.

We'll have to hit up the staff to see if that's an actual thing or not.

What is this madness? Does Rhythm Heaven cause this much of a boost? Splatoon is still boosting Wii U sales, but that's because it's selling like hot damn hotcakes in Japan (I would know, I've been frequenting retail spaces)

Wii U – 16,413
PS4 – 10,822

3DS – 943
3DS LL – 880
Vita TV – 566
Xbox One – 100

Hate on the name, the soundtrack is incredible, and the art style is bizarrely charming.

I don't know guys. They do have that 300 seat room rented for I believe Thursday to present... something? Last year was codenamed steam, who knows what's coming there. There have been far too many omissions for me to conclude that the Digital Event is all we get. Trust Me.
Do they, really? I thought I heard no developer roundtable a or anything of the sort this year.
Updating on this- the schedule has nothing regarding another discussion.

Agreed, I think I'll enjoy this as long as the missions are varied enough. It also needs a sense of progression though.

Phil, I think you're being a bit harsh. Federation Force is a very different game from traditional Metroid- I don't think it looks bad and I'm actually pretty interested in it- but fans have been hungry for something more traditional since Other M and this is a weird move for them to take. Now, the massive amounts of dislikes on videos and hatred is uncalled for, but being disappointed is not.

Same thing with the Digital Event. It didn't feel cohesive at all, focused too much on things we already knew about, and didn't really bring much exciting to the table. It was a lot of content, but not a lt of memorable or interesting content.

TalkBack / Re: Paper Mario: Paper Jam: A Meeting of Two Worlds

So to be clear, this is a Mario and Luigi game featuring Paper Mario?

**** that ****.

2340
I'm totally willing to give Federation Force a open-minded try because I think it's structure sounds like a great timesink. But I will be honest, I was expecting something more Metroid-y.

2341
I'm so thrilled I can finally relate to Ian Sane.

In all seriousness, I wanted a few simple things- a release date for Xenoblade, the rumored Paper Mario Wii U, a decent premeire or two, and the feeling that I would be set for the rest of the year. And I really felt dissatisfied by this even with low expectations. Federation Force barely looks like a Metroid game, so you don't have to call it that. Triforce Heroes looks inventive but I have to rely on an online community to get my full enjoyment. Mario and Luigi is NOT a proper Paper Mario, who seems to be playing a supporting role and that's just annoying as a longtime fan. Xenoblade is... so... far... away.

I mean, where were Devil's Third and Fatal Frame, two games that are outside of Nintendo's usu comfort some of color and cuteness? Why did we get another unbearably long talk about Wooly World? They might as well have talked about Splatoon's updates, or even bundled in the Smash announcements to save this one.

I mean, I think Federation Force and Triforce Heroes are both neat ideas and novel, but they aren't what I needed from my systems this year. I'll be sticking with indie and Kickstarted games this holiday season, at least outside of Mario Maker (which seems fun but I'm struggling to justify a purchase) and Xenoblade. I was hoping for something new that would appeal to ME. Maybe that sounds selfish, but I seem to be in the majority of people who feel the same way. But I have been vocal about not giving two shits about Star Fox and this year'a showing certainly didn't sway me on the new entry.

Also, **** Yokai Watch.

So a less interesting version of Sin and Punishment with space animals?

Rive is pretty awesome. Definitely more appealing to me than Runbow so far, which I thought was the big eShop promotion as of late.

Update:

Platinum is co-developing Project Guard and turning it into a full game per Euorgamer. Post Spring 2016 game.
Project guard? As in, the game where you look at surveillance cameras?

Sounds right up their alley.

2345
They seem to have at least nailed down a (quite sterile) art style. While graphics might get some polish, they're not going to significantly change.

Can you please offer me some examples of games that have improved graphically? I can only think of examples with minor improvements.

What a bland offering.

You know, as much as I'd like to believe you, I really, really, really doubt it.

What a depressing E3.

2350
Who cares?

It looks visually stale and not fun at all to play. So much for a bomb.

It's like Nintendo thought hyping current games would be a good way to trump the lateness of the Sony/Microsoft conferences. But it doesn't really work when all of your games look like bad ideas.
