Whoa, it's a double Rainbow Road all the way!!

I learned about GCN Daisy Cruiser the other day, but it's still exciting.  This will be the best MK game ever.

Good thing I locked it in early.  It was offered at half that.

That's part of the hilariousness to me . . . trying to figure out how those two work in karts.  I love it, though.  It's like Hideki Konno and his crew just went nuts with creativity on this one.

By the way, look:

Cute.  Both of 'em.

It failed to mention that the system launched with no good software and only half an OS.

Now that's just snotty.

They neglected to feature a few other GBA SPs.  I live in the US, and I got one of those snazzy NES-styled SPs.  I guess it being a limited edition is why it wasn't mentioned.

4) One of the big Marketing problems for the 3DS is that looks like a DS, Smells like a DS, plays like a DS, and Named like a DS so using Duck Typing it must be a DS which it really isn't.

It's really bad with the boxes.  Sure, they shifted the logo to the right side of the box, but they completely blend in on the shelf--especially somewhere like Walmart, where they mix the 3DS and DS games together.  They should even now find a way to totally differentiate the games.  They shouldn't just say, "Well, what's done is done."

It wouldn't hurt if they decided to rename it.

I thought Peter David wrote this, not Dan Slott.

I don't see where the * next to "newly configured" leads, but I'm guessing this is the, "Now with 100% less Gamecube support!" edition.

It seems like Nintendo is going nuts (in a good way) with 3D Land and Kart 7.  The powerup ideas are just over the top.

I was going to come here and say, "Gah, no more Blue Man Group," but your wording of it--they "pledged their support"--makes me feel bad.  Bring on more Blue Man Group!   ;D

I'm glad to hear the comparisons to Galaxy.  A lot of the previews have made it seem like it feels closer to NSMB than SMG.

I'm glad it isn't through the Nintendo video channel, because I want to keep these vids.  I still have most of the ones from E3.  I deleted some of those as the games became available, but I kind of wish I had saved them for the sake of posterity.  I'm keeping these!

I do wish there was a way to clean up the 3DS main screen, though.  If I could make a Games folder and a Video folder, that would be great.

I kept checking the US eShop for the TGS videos.  I don't think I missed them, so I hope they're up today.  I really want the 3D Mario vids.

Awesome.  Their Gamecube Mario sports games are the cat's pajamas.  I hope Wii U gets a Camelot Mario Golf that has an option for traditional power bar controls in addition to the nifty "put the controller's screen on the ground" that Nintendo has shown off.

I downloaded all the E3 videos and kept them because I continue to watch them.  My only complaint is having them clutter up the main screen.  I wish there was a way to have a Games folder and a Video folder, or any other kind of folder I want to consolidate everything I have.  I guess you could just get a Video SD card, but I'm not planning to do that any time soon.

I hope I can download the latest Paper Mario/Mario Land/Mario Kart vids in the US.  I'll watch them quite a bit.

TalkBack / Re: Japanese Box Art for 3DS Mario Titles Revealed

I can dig it.  These titles should be awesome.  IGN had a little fright headline about Paper Mario being "more action, less RPG," but their video evidence didn't seem to support that conclusion.  I can't wait to see the game covered a bit here.

I hope all the doom and gloom and rumors about a redesigned handheld with de-emphasized 3D don't cause Nin to start canceling titles.  If Paper Mario 3DS doesn't make it to market, I'll just die (said like a '50s teenybopper).  Seriously, there are plenty of great games I'm looking forward to (Kart, 3D Land, Luigi), but Paper Mario is the reason I bought the system.  It's also the one the press seems to have little to no interest in.   :(

I was pleased to see DKjr has the electric sparks level.  I only had the Coleco version, which did not, and never got the Adam version, which did.  I had a friend who claimed the Atari 2600 version of Donkey Kong had the "pie factory" level, accessible if you pulled the cartridge out while it was running, but he LIED.

The games look pretty good to me on the 3DS screen.

I know Nintendo's in the business of making money, but this seems like it will only hurt Wii U sales.  If I bought little Johnny a Wii for Christmas, I wouldn't turn around and replace it a few months later.  I guess Nin figures anyone buying it this late and for this cheap probably isn't in the market for the next big thing anyway.

The last Sonic game I played was Sonic Rush, which I hated.  I own Colors Wii but haven't even opened it yet.  This looks promising, but I have to decide between 3DS or 360.

I just bought DKC on the VC last night.  It's still a pretty beautiful game.  I also had DKC2 back in the early '90s, but never DKC3.  I don't think I even knew about it, since I was deep into PC gaming at the time.  I think I'll play them all leading up to finally taking a crack at Returns, which I've had for a while unopened.

TalkBack / Re: Four More Games Added to Nintendo Selects
« on: August 16, 2011, 05:17:46 PM »
Yep, I bought Punch-Out at Sears a few months ago for the Select price.  I have all of the new ones already, half of the first wave, and only really need Sluggers.  That would basically leave Animal Crossing, which has never interested me until I think, "If it's the only one I don't have, why not look into it?"  :)

They need to bring the New Play Control line back under this umbrella.  I had a heck of a time finding Jungle Beat since I waited until earlier this year to buy it (good old Sears again).  Really, the only US title I'm missing is Tennis, and I have that on GC.  I'd probably buy it, though.

I'll buy it day and date!  UC wasn't a game with a lot of replay value, but I never knew it was hated until it was announced as a 3D Classic.  The Miyamoto game I would kill to have as a 3D Classic would be Popeye (or even as a regular VC), but I guess there are licensing problems now.
