TalkBack / Re: Nintendo Direct Scheduled for Wednesday
« on: February 21, 2012, 04:54:16 PM »
Wednesday, eh?  My body will be ready.  Oh, we're done with that one now?  Gotcha.

I hope for something, anything, about Paper Mario.  It's why I bought the system, and I love my 3DS regardless, but I want a PM crumb now.

(even the Ambassador Certificate, WTH does that need a 147 block update for?)

This probably isn't what you're asking, but I think you download the entire new version and then the old one is auto deleted.  The other day, I downloaded updates for a ton of games, and it stated that it took my blocks down from about 2200 to 700.  I was pretty unhappy about that, but the block total went back to 2200 after the updating was done.   Just an FYI for others concerned about the block total decrease.

I want to play as the Mushroom Kingdom denizens the whole time, not the kids.

They can call it Mario Tennis Poop and I'll still be in line.

Looks like I'll be hitting eBay when these come out.  Can't wait to have green apple-scented hair!

Can't wait to fight Mike Tyson, er, Mr. Dream on the go!  Providing it comes to the US.

I just hope it will mean Bonk: Brink of Extinction will be brought back from the, erm, brink of extinction.

But will they be giving out tote bags?

I like the idea of the Tron world, but I guess I'll stay away still.   :'(   Thanks for the information.

Will this be new player friendly?  I've gotten the impression that recent games have not, so I've stayed away.  Also, haven't they gotten further and further away from the Disney premise, or is that a misconception?

I've got Minish and Kart, but my DS Lite is having issues and this'll be easier than dragging out my SP.  Haven't played the rest, but it looks like a pretty astonishing, dud-free lineup.  I wish I could play Zero Mission, but it'll probably be offered later.

For those who haven't played Minish, it's cool--especially if you like Liliputian worlds.

We have to wait until May for 3D Classics Kid Icarus?  And we have to wait for Fifteenuary for Cake Ninj . . . oh, it's Euro dating.  Jan. 5.   :cool;

(Hope we get that Kid Icarus in America.  We should do, yes?)

TalkBack / Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Stepping Down from His Position at Nintendo
« on: December 08, 2011, 02:06:55 AM »
Kind of reminds me of how Lucas said he was walking away from blockbusters to focus on smaller, experimental films.  Not to compare Miyamoto to Lucas.  :D

I'll admit that I was stunned and saddened by the headline, but he's got some good people in place like Aonuma, Konno and Koizumi.  Maybe he'll start coming up with some great, new IPs for the Wii U era.

Bowser's too big, too.  They like to fudge these things for Kart.

Just, like, 12 hours until this is mine.

I'm glad for the addition of Wiggler and Honey Queen.  They're cute.  I wouldn't mind the roster having been expanded instead of some of these guys being replaced, but I don't hate the new ones.  I do wish for Shadow Mario instead of Metal, though.  I'd like to hear his maniacal utterances while lapping his opponents (and, how about an instant wipeout of regular Mario if Shadow Mario touched him?).

Speaking of Club Nintendo, I got my pins today.  They look much better than expected (as expected).

I think Kirby turns into the regular NES version if you pull down the 3D slider, so maybe.

I've been saving up my registrations until after the Club Nintendo year is up, but I guess I'll have to register 3D Land and Kart 7 if this comes to North America.  I haven't played Kid Icarus since it was new, but we loved it back then.  I definitely want it.

TalkBack / Re: Mario 3D Kart Review

That's what I thought, Neal.  You're nowhere near a negative opinion of it, just felt let down by parts here and there.  That's, obviously, totally fair.

Ian, one feature you might like is that parameters can be set for multiplayer games, such as all banana peels, all red shells, etc.  I would assume you could say, "Everything but blue shells, bullet bills, etc."  Maybe that will allow you to enjoy it to some degree.

This can't be called a negative review, but it's the most negative of the ones I've read.  IGN and Nintendo Life were much more positive.  From everything I've read and seen, I think I'm going to be closer to their opinions.  It looks like the cutting edge of MK games.  Of course, you've played it and I haven't, but the bottom line is that we're all going to enjoy it to one degree or another.

Just a joke on the idea that Puzzle Bobble is a much better name than Bust a Move, and that it's not even unrelatable to a Western audience.

For those with blinds near the TV (like me), you might want to look into cellular shades.  You might get a little light around the edges, but none from the bulk of the shades.  I don't think they're very expensive.

Now Miyamoto has been vindicated for his E3 2010 performance.
