Nintendo Gaming / RE: More Controller Info FROM REGGIE in NYC

You wouldn't need two remotes for that...Just put one in the middle, it can sense rotation.

Hey guys, in nerd class at school these goons were talking about next gen and pretty much everything they said was wrong, which means they're pretty mainstream (they were all self-addmitted PS2 fanboys) when they saw in the internet that the Rev was now called the Wii.  One guy liked it, one was indifferent, and the other disliked it.  Nobody lauhged, and nobody made a pee joke.

So uhh, yeah!

It's probably definitley fake, but it does look pretty cool.  Perhaps a little too altered as to be readable as "Wii" but not a terrible logo.  Either way, it does help in accepting the name.

But for what they're trying to do something a little more simple would work.  I mean, there's no way to top the Cube's logo anyway.

Seeing as how they mentioned the nunchuck having motion control in the same article, we know that the final secret is something else.  Something better.

That's also the article that got me used to the name Wii.

Don't know about you, but I don't bust into gamestop and yell out "WHAT GAMES DO YOU HAVE FOR THE GAMECUBE?"  I walk to the Cube section and look at the shelf.

Posters outside bathrooms, urinal-puck advertisments.

I am being completely serious here.  The name is hilarious, and I've fallen in love with its sheer stupidity.

As you can see in the talkback thread I went from hating it to loving it in three posts.  Wii is awesome.

That is, IF Nintendo does the right thing with it.  I think it'd be hilarious to see a serious Wii poster directly outside the door to the bathrooms, for instance.  You'd walk by and be like "ahaha I wonder if they did that on purpose?"  And then you walk into the bathroom and see a Metroid urinal-puck.

After that experience you'll be thinking about Wii all day.  You'll tell your friends about Wii.  It's brilliant.

Actually, if we get something like "Resident Evil Wii" it'll be all worth it.

I wouldn't have loved to see Iwata announce the name at E3 just to see the immediate reaction.  You know, snickering, then confusion, followed by laughing, and then some sobbing.

So yeah, pretty retarded name.

Although I agree with mario, after the original BUH? going through my brain, I though "Well now Revolution seems so boring and uptight."  I don't think any name can please me now =D

Yeah, for serious, DSs will be everywhere.  While waiting in line you can either download a demo of a DS game or start up a 10 player Tetris match or whatever.

Meteos and Lumines were very original and refreshing games, I'm glad we're seeing one liscensed version, one port, and one sequel so early!

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Bomberman + DS + WiFi
« on: April 26, 2006, 01:38:58 PM »
I bought the original Bomberman and it was worth it.  I wouldn't buy it NOW of course but back then it was a good purchase.  And if this is just Bomberman DS + WiFi with little else in the way of improvements, I aint buying it.  I mostly play Bomberman DS's mulitplayer against computers anyway, and it's fine.

I think it's fairly obvious that if his kids enjoy Dora they're not quite ready for Castlevania.

And I shudder to think they animecyberrat has kids.  Every aspect of that thought is just wrong.

While Donkey Kong Jungle Beat is a greta game, I really don't think your kids will like it, and are likely to be frustrated by the controls.  It takes lots of furious beating and coordination...

I think it'd be hilarious if the site was taken over by gamer-nerds, eventually some xbox nuts will paint a giant green X across the whole thing and like ruin it for everyone.

General Gaming / RE: "Oblivion" gets 4 1/2 yawns on a scale of 5
« on: April 24, 2006, 04:20:24 PM »
Well nerds it looks like a may be getting a new computer soon (goodbye 1999!) and I'm sure as hell making sure it can play this game well, so you can all cheer for me or whatever.  BUT I HAVE A QUESTION for those of you wh have played botht he Xbox 360 and PC versions KAY?

Which control setup is better?  the real answer is revolution dur.  I know what the interface is like, and honestly I think it'd work quite well with the 360 controller, which is what I've been hearing.  Of course I'd prefer the mouse for looking around, but I have a really hard time playing most games with a keyboard, and I love the feeling of a controller in my hand.  The only complaint I've been hearing is that setting hot keys with the number pad is far superior to using the D-pad, but honestly my brain doens't function well with the number pad.  All these years of console gaming has made me more comfortable using the D-pad, even for hot keys, so I don't think that that would be a probelm.

This is assuming, of course, that I can use the 360 controller for the PC version of oblivion, but since it functions as a PC controller as well I don't see why not.  The thing is, the 360 controler is like $40 and that's kind of a lot, especially since I'm busting the old piggy-bank for this PC (and also borrowing a thousand bucks :S), so I wanted to know if it would be worth it.  I guess it'd basically be like playing the 360 version without all the terrible problems and such.

So, which is better? >_> (or not even which is better, but is the 360 controller not terribly clunky and awkward?)

How peculiar.

So anyway, massive air strike sounds rad I guess, we could split the ball up into different sections or something and assign people different parts and tell them what to draw there, so we can have a giant "PGC" across the whole thing or maybe something cool instead.

Wow, I know at least two of those I'll definitley buy, probably three =o  Unfortunatley there's no Mario Basketball to be seen

Also, no FFCC Rev.  Perhaps they're still NDA'd, but they HAVE revealed it already, and I'd imagine that if it were coming out they'd list it.  Maybe it won't make launch :frown;.
