Nintendo Gaming / Zelda: OoT/MQ Help Thread
« on: February 15, 2003, 11:53:38 AM »
I'm not sure if the song is the same or different depending on how you do it, but the song that worked for me to get the second heart container piece from the singing frogs is (A) LEFT, RIGHT, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, DOWN, (A), DOWN, (A), DOWN RIGHT, LEFT, (A).  You also have to be quick, if you pause too long then you will have to start over.  You get to this part after playing the major songs to get them big.  The Song of Storms gives you the first heart piece, but doesn't it make one of the frogs grow big.

TalkBack / Dave Mirra sues Acclaim over BMX XXX
« on: February 14, 2003, 05:26:40 AM »
That's just mean RABicle.    But I would have to agree with you though.  Hopefully this will force Acclaim to rethink their business plans and stop putting out games just for shock value.  If they make a great game they won't need to resort to shady tactics to get the it to sell.  It's a slap in the face to all of us when they pull the crap they have been up to lately.  It seems like every game they have put out lately has had some controversy attached to it for one reason or another.

TalkBack / Zelda Date Break?
« on: February 12, 2003, 04:26:48 PM »
I got my copy Monday by quite suprise.  It wasn't scheduled to be delivered until today.  I have finished the first 3 dungeon in Master Quest version but I haven't done anything since last night.  I rather liked the the cow switches!

Nintendo Gaming / Bonus Dicscs out already?!
« on: February 10, 2003, 07:31:05 AM »
The box and manual art is fine, it is just the inside of the manual that is boring.  I'm not complaining about it, just disappointed that it was such strange color selection.  I would have preferred just gray scale.  The color scheme does make the screen shot inside rather dark and hard to see what is being shown.

Nintendo did the different packaging because in Japan didn't they get the bonus disk with the new Zelda game, were as we get the bonus disk early?

[EDIT]  Oh, and the special preview booklet included for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is in full color, by the way.

Nintendo Gaming / Bonus Dicscs out already?!
« on: February 10, 2003, 06:46:09 AM »
I got my bonus disk this morning.  Quite a shock because I wasn't expecting it until Wednesday the 12th.  I ordered through EBGames.com.  I don't like that Nintendo made the inside of the instruction manual so boring, shades of yellow-orange and black and gray.  Just cheap if you ask me, but for getting two free games as a bonus makes up for it I guess.

NWR Feedback / New Forums BUG DISCUSSION
« on: February 08, 2003, 09:44:26 AM »
Today I could get to the home page of the forum, but for a while I couldn't open anything excect for the who's online thingy.  All I would get in a page that runs through the search option on my browser saying it couldn't find the page that I was trying to open, General Chat, PGC Discussion in general.  Also I got it when I tried to use the refresh button, but if I used the link in my favorites folder I had no problem.  Also PlanetGameCube.com wouldn't open, same problem.

Nintendo Gaming / When will the Zelda Presale start?
« on: February 08, 2003, 09:37:53 AM »
I won't get mine until February 12, the latest (hopefully.  I didn't get into work Friday because of about five to nince inches of snow so it wouldn't have mattered if I got in or not.  Well at least it gives me a few more day to finish Skies of Arcadia Legends (again, already beat the Dreamcast version back in 2001)

Electronics Boutique has always been good about getting things out early, at least for me they seem to be.  I got my N64 before the official launch and several games I have gotten delivered the same day they come out, which to me means they got the games in early and shipped them early.  They also have from time to time upgraded my shipping to next day while only charging me for two day.

Thank you for ordering from EBgames.com.  The status and/or ship date for each item on your
order is detailed below.
Here is the status of the item(s) you have ordered:
The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker Ordered: 1     Shipped: 0
The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker Ordered: 1     Shipped: 0
ZELDA PRESALE DISC GC          Ordered: 1     Shipped: 0
WEB ONLY PRESELL               Ordered: 1     Shipped: 1
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (Pre-order bonus delivery by Feb. 16 2003 - $5 shipping
surcharge) Ordered: 1     Shipped: 0

I am guessing this is the Zelda Bonus, what else could it be.  Something has been shipped by UPS and I have a tracking number too.  I had next day air so hopefully tomorrow I will find out what it is.  That is if it doesn't snow, or at least not too much to keep from from getting into work.  UPS has a hard time finding my house, which is funny because for 13 years they never had a problem, so everything go to my work address.  If it's not the bonus then I don't know what it is.

Nintendo Gaming / Final Fantasy 3 on Game Boy Advance?
« on: February 06, 2003, 09:28:50 AM »
The Final Fantasy 3 I am referring to, to those you don't know, is Final Fantsay 3 in Japan, not Final Fantasy 6 that was renamed Final Fantasy 3 when it was translated.

My impression is and still is, that he didn't want a Nintendo Australia thread, but a thread for people in or from Australia and only those people, and those not pertaining to Australia could "Get lost yanks!" as his subject title made clear.  It is not his job to segregate the topics based on nationality for those of a particular nationality or ethnic background.  I don't care if he wants to have a topic solely for the purpose of discussion about Australia, that's not what pissed me off, but he's not going to tell me I'm not welcome just because I am not from Australia, which is what pissed me off.

RABicle, if you want an Australia thread, go right ahead but don't tell people different from you to get lost, it makes you appear close-minded and shallow.

I don't have anything against you RABicle, or Australia so don't take it personally!  I would feel the same if anyone else had done the same thing for any country or state.

3288
Why?  Because you aren't that special.  Sorry.  But this isn't something that deserves a special category.
If you get your own, then I can expect to have my own just because I am from Maryland.  And I don't take kindly to being referred to as a yank.  I could be offened if you were an adult.  You are being childish.

How about a listing of all forum members, not just the ones online at the moment?  Or is that not easy to do?

General Chat / Local Band Surprise
« on: February 04, 2003, 09:58:08 AM »
Good Charlotte is local to me.  Then there is Toni Braxton who is from Maryland.  Or Tori Amos who is suppose to be from around the Maryland/Virginia area, but those two aren't bands.  Dave Matthews Band, they're from Virginia aren't they?  Or at least have ties there.  I seem to recall something about Boyz II Men and ties to Baltimore.

But until then ... enjoy!

Can you set it up so that users can decide how many Who's On users they want to look at on a page,  5, 10 per page, and so on like the number of topics, or threads on a page?  I like features like that because I find it easier and faster to display 10 instead of twenty.  It works in my e-mail and on the old forums.

I do if it's the only way to read it.  Originally Stephen King's Riding The Bullet was released only as an e-book.  I read it then, and I read again when it was included in his latest collection Everything's Eventual.

I also did the serial downloads of The Plant while Stephen King was doing it.

General Gaming / February = RPG heaven
« on: February 02, 2003, 02:37:21 PM »
I only played Breath of Fire 1 & 2 on the SNES when they orginally came out.  I passed on  BoF 3 & 4 because I really didn't like BoF 2.  And Breath of Fire: Dragon's Quarter doesn't even sound good to me, the whole thing that if you die you have to start over from the beginning of the underground world where they live.  Yes you keep everything, but the idea of having to backtrack like that, if this is even true, turns me off.  Besides i am getting Xenosaga to keep me busy, I have Final Fantasy Origins to keep me busy, and Skies of Arcadia to keep me busy until the Zelda Bonus come sin in February, then The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker to keep me busy too.

I didn't like Dark Cloud all that much, really felt like I wasted my money so I won't even bother getting Dark Cloud 2 at full price, maybe when it's less than 20.00.

Thanks, I was wondering about that.  More along the lines though as to what would happen if I clicked it.  Did you automatically get something for was I prompted for info.  I was tempted to click it but didn't know what would happen.  Now I know.

Nintendo Gaming / Skies of Arcadia - best GC RPG
« on: February 02, 2003, 05:53:35 AM »
I loved this game when it was on the Dreamcast, it was the sole reason for me getting the game.  And I love it on the GameCube.  I can't really tell any difference graphic-wise between the two versions.  But then again I am not a graphic whore.  I appreciate nice looking graphics, but what I want more is a game to go along with it, and Skies of Arcadia Legends gives both IMO.  If I didn't already have a GCN, I would go out and buy one just for this game even though I already played it two years ago.

General Gaming / Phantasy Star Online: XBOX Version.
« on: February 02, 2003, 05:46:44 AM »
Well it would be pointless for me since I can't get broadband in my area without paying more than 60.00 a month.  And therefore this game would be pointless too.  I'm not going to spend 50 dollars for an online service that would only be used to play a game offline that can be played offline for the single cost of the game on another system.  I can play PSO for 49.99 offline, but I would have to pay 89.98 to play it on the XBOX.  Not worth it.

General Gaming / Wavebird Question
« on: February 01, 2003, 04:09:03 PM »
No, no.  I tried it again after the first and I turned the controller off.  Moved the stick, then turned the controller back on after letting up off the stick and my character moved in a straight line in the opposite direction.  To reset it I just turned the controller off them back on again without moving any part of the controller.

General Gaming / Wavebird Question
« on: February 01, 2003, 03:45:07 PM »
While playing Skies of Arcadia Legends, I turned the Wavebird controller off because I had to do something and when I went back to the game I forgot to turn the controller back on and tried to move the character.  Off course nothing happened because it was turned off, but when I turned the controller on the character, Vyse, started to move in the opposite direction I had moved the controll stick and kept on going until I turned the controller off then back on again.

So my question is, is this normal?  I don't remember doing it before, so i don't now if it's something that happens in other games.
