Nah, Gamebasher's just pissed that all of the sudden Sony thinks connectivity is great. AgentSeven wouldn't have said anything even remotely good about Sony.

That's alright, it's the thought that counts. Thanks!

I can only download the HTML file, no song.

Oh, of course- Sony will be praised for implimenting connectivity while Nintendo was bashed for it. It's been happening for a while, we just have to get used to it. :\

Your site is down, Monkey.

I think it's a great idea! Sure, Sony most likely got the idea from Nintendo, but it really is a great idea and it's great to see other companies recognizing  its potential- it's better for the industry if new ideas like this are more widespread than if one company closely guards them.

Unfortunately, Nintendo is chasing a lot of red herrings and making bad assumptions (such as people don't care about pretty graphics)

Nintendo never said people don't care about graphics- a lot of people seem to have misunderstand what Nintendo said. Yamauchi and Iwata said they don't think graphics is all that's going to matter in the next generation, so they want to offer newer, innovative features with their next console. They don't want the only difference between this and next generation to be more polygons.

Unless she's just following the A&F crowd (they make the shirt, right?).

Not exactly- I believe Abercrombie and Fitch owns Hot Topic, but Hot Topic puts out the shirt itself.

Jale: I heard a very similar story- in the 1880's, I believe, the head of the US Patents Office resigned, saying everything that can be invented already has. This was before the car, computers, airplanes, etc, etc.

Nah, that's not Nintendo's fault- stores get REALLY stupid when reordering stuff. A friend of mine worked at a grocery/fast food place in town. They would always get really small shipments of, say, milk. They'd sell through their shipment and order more. The computer would recognize that they didn't sell a whole lot of milk and give them another small shipment- it didn't realize that the reason it sold so few was because the original shipment was small, and sending out another small shipment will just perpetuate the problem.

KnowsNothing: I think wearing the shirt as a joke implies even more social development than otherwise.

My sister made me think of it, yes. For those who don't know, my sister, who became a Jesus freak not too long ago, emailed me saying that she saw The Passion of the Christ and said that it changed her life and brought her closer to Jesus, and that she thought it could do the same for me. I politely replied that I had no spiritual interest in the movie and that if I saw it it would be purely for the historical backround. She responded with the claim that I was being close minded, to which I said I wasn't being closeminded, I had merely made up my mind on the issue. She again called me close minded, this time with the defense that I haven't read the Bible so I couldn't make an accurate opinion (although that's a very hypocritical statement since she hasn't read the Tora or the Koran and yet obviously chose Christianity over Judaism and Islam). I finally told her that all that should matter is that I'm as happy as I can be and my life is going great- whether or not I'm a Christian shouldn't affect anything. She's my sister, and I love her, and if being a devout Christian makes her happy, then that's great- but one thing I can't stand is when people try to push their beliefs on me.

In any case, I've gotten entirely off subject. Sorry.

On the same idea, I find a lot of people tend to confuse being close minded and not changing your opinion when they want you to, and they always try to use it as leverage against you.

Right, I think the reason they all have staff avatars is because Bill found the PGC article with all the staff pictures.

You must get carded a lot, because you don't look 24.

Now that I know what you look like, you're not so intimidating anymore, either.

Also, are you really 24? You don't look much older than me.

NWR Feedback / RE:PGC, what the heck is up with the ads?
« on: February 29, 2004, 03:53:35 PM »
That's a good point, but a lot of people are very close minded, so you're more assured you're advertising to the right person if you run Gamecube ads- running XBox ads will only attract those who either own an XBox or are open minded enough to think about owning an XBox. Like I said, though, I doubt it makes a lick of difference to PGC what the ad is, as long as it's not offensive.

I know for a fact that DDRMAX 2 USA has Nonstop mode, and I'd assume DDR EX JP would, too.

I could if I tried on a few songs, but I'm generally happy with getting a B or an A, or an AA if I happen to get one.

On what difficulty? I can full combo it on Beginner and almost on Standard. I can't even hope to pass it on Heavy yet.

A video game about a movie about a book that was butchered a little is butchered even more, what a great idea!

Hey, I've heard The Two Towers and Return of the King weren't bad games.

If you're getting a PS2, I personally would suggest DDRMAX. It's loaded with a lot of really great songs, including some of my favorites, like I Like To Move It, Rhythm and Police, Spin the Disc, and Candy- it shouldn't be that expensive, either. You can also get DDRMAX 2, which has about as many songs. On the Playstation side of things, I'd suggest Konamix, and that's about it- the original DDR release for the PSX has too few songs to justify its price.
