General Gaming / RE: Too Human exclusive to Xbox?

Ironic, isn't it?

I've actually found myself not liking sega nearly a much these days, they still make great games, but lately other 3rd party's seem to be trumping them for titles I cannot live without.

I find it strange that this is releasing so late, If there isn't a way to connect these current pokemon titles with the later ones (DS) then I'll *REALLY* be aggrivated at nintendo.

...On the other end of the spectrum, i'll most likely be buying this because Pokemon has a control over me.... I wish they released Fire Red and Leaf Green before announcing this one though....

I'm highly interested in this game, The subtitle works very well from all the gameplay movies that i've seen, and though the combat looks slow.  I really loved the way the card combo's looked together.  Its also undeniable the game looks gourgeous, but I really just want to see how the combat works out.

Oh, and as i mentioned in another thread, "I'm a whore for floating continents and such"

I think Namco is relying far too heavily on this title to NOT have any ads for it, of course, I haven't heard of a single one and the game is coming out later this week. =/

Seems that just about everyone else knows about the game though, so all the online pimping and stuff is doing it quite well, even the guys who work at bestbuy sounded interested.

I was under the impression this was pretty much confirmed.

Anyway, its good news to hear, espicially with that "ultimate games" compilation coming.

Sega hasn't had a single million selling game this entire generation, its bad when a single pokemon title outsells an entire companies total sales, for the ENTIRE generation.

Either way, i don't believe this rumor, and I know the staff over at gamedaily.  I won't believe anything i hear about SK till i see it officially.

Given Diesel's resolve to address the game's current production, gamers can consider the question of when the game is due to the PlayStation 2 platform moot. Or can they? A VU Games spokesperson checked in with the following comment today, saying that "at this time there are no plans to do Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay on PlayStation 2."

I love Metal Arms to death, so I have very high hopes for this.
I really hope the game sells well, mainly so that Swinging Ape can get the funds they need for a Metal Arms sequel.

Of course, this might actually turn the game into a far more action based game, i hope they can show off some stealth talent to go along with it...

I think this shows how smart Namco was in releasing this title for the Cube.  As one of only a few Cube RPGs it has received a lot of attention.  There's no better way to compete with Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior than to go to where they aren't.

I actually agree with you for once Ian.

BTW, if it calms you down, they're porting the XBox "exclusive" Chronicles of Riddick to the PS2, as well.

except that its being ported to PC, not PS2.

big difference there.

just use http://www.gamerankings.com for comparing scores.
or http://www.metacritic.com (less total, better interface also has Music and movies)
http://www.gametab.com also has the same function, but its pride and joy is the fact its a customizable news hub on the front page, and i'm pimping this site because its quite honestly the most useful site i've ever found when it comes to videogame news.

Overall, i've been seeing good scores for Tales, I'm curious what i'll be giving it....

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Baten Kaitos
« on: July 06, 2004, 09:31:04 PM »
I believe the reason that nothing much has been heard about it is that Namco wants to pimp ToS first, then once ToS is out it will pimp baiten kaitos.  Both games are by the same company and they are competition for eachother, it has to time things right so that people will end up buying both of them, instead of just one.

That, and from the movies i've seen, it is one very unique combat system.  Check out the trailers at www.gametrailers.com

Enix had a strict "market leader only" rule to the games it devoloped.
I wouldn't be surprised if Square-Enix retains this.

It *IS* ignoring the cube, but not on the basis that its nintendo, its on the basis that it isn't the dominating force.

So whats gonna happen now companies are gonna go banktrupt and the survivers will start to make alot of money and its gonna turn into something like the music industrie where a select few companies own the whole thing.

True that.

I won't mourn acclaim, the one title they did that i care about is currently being released by EA.  (Burnout)

I think that Midway is going to be heavily relying on the new Mortal Kombat game as well....

Vivendi is barely staying afloat as it is, they need to be very grateful they have blizzard.

Interplay also recently got owned...

I'm thinking that this business is going to slowly turn into one of publishing monopolies =/

« on: July 06, 2004, 11:53:27 AM »
Bout the online thing, meh, we've been over it, I want online gaming.

The line that scared me the most was when nintendo said it might buy out or merge with Bandai. O_o;

Nintendo owning bandai, damn, that would be interesting.  Because that would turn every bit of bandai's licensed products into nintendo exclusives, along with a higher chance of nintendo related anime coming out, among other unnecessary toys.

very interesting.

Haha, jaaa sure, as if playing turn based RPGs just for the gameplay was enough fun to justify paying full price for them... If I wanted good turn based battles I'd grab Chess.

I suppose you dislike .hack?
(ignoring the horrible combat system and fact that its repetetive after the first 3 hours)

I'm kinda curious how this works...
So, it just copies a GBA rom into itself then emulates it on the cube?   How many games does it hold at once? ...and how isn't this illegal >_>

Alex escape his prison?  Alex just turned himself into a demi-god, what prison is there to escape when you have half of the power of the entire planet in your grasp?  I'm really curious what that ugly rock with an eyeball has to do with all of this...

I actually found the ending to be near perfect, The fact that everything you've been doing for the past 2 games (70ish hours at least) was purely because Alex tricked you, and was using you to give himself ultimate power... It was like a huge slap in the face, he seemed like a rather nice guy as well...
