TalkBack / Capcom May Not Have 3DS Launch Titles
« on: August 04, 2010, 01:57:14 AM »

3DS games are not part of projections for the current fiscal year.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23812

At a Q&A session during Capcom's recent investors briefing, Nintendo 3DS was one of the major subjects. When asked whether 3DS games were part of their projected sales and profits for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2011, the response was that the two games announced at E3, Resident Evil Revelations and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, are not included in the figures.

This means that currently, 3DS games may not be part of Capcom's releases for the fiscal year, and it is possible that Capcom will not have any launch titles for the system. They went on to say that the timing of 3DS releases is yet to be determined.

In addition, Capcom's reps responded about 3DS development costs with the answer that the "MT Framework", their internally developed engine, can used to share basic development processes so extreme cost increases are not expected.

TalkBack / Capcom Posts Dramatic Drop in First Quarter Income
« on: July 29, 2010, 07:00:50 PM »

Huge drop in profits compared to this time last year.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23795

Capcom have reported a net income of 216 million yen ($2.4 million) for the quarter ending June 30, 2010. Compared with the same period in 2009, this is a 94.8 percent drop. While profits are down, net sales are similar to last year, with just a 2.4 percent drop to 19,037 million yen ($219 million).

The shrinking US and European markets due to the state of the economy and the strong yen are large factors in the profit decrease. Titles such as Super Street Fighter IV and Monster Hunter Frontier Online showed steady sales growth, but Lost Planet 2 sales failed to match projected earnings, leading to overall stagnant sales. The slow sales rate of Monster Hunter Tri for Wii and the struggle of Ghost Trick for DS in the Japanese market has contributed to the figures.

New franchises have high development costs, yet risk worse sales performance compared to established franchises. Recent reports from Capcom have stated the company's intention to release more titles of their more profitable franchises.

The interim results do not affect predicted income for the year ending March 31, 2011, an expected net income of 8,000 million yen ($92 million).

TalkBack / Nintendo Reports Quarterly Loss in Income and Sales
« on: July 29, 2010, 08:56:36 AM »

Slowing DS sales and stronger yen are contributing factors.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23791

For the first time in more than two years, Nintendo has posted a loss for the quarter ending June 30 2010. Net loss was 25.2 billion yen ($289 million), a 42 percent drop compared to the same period in 2009. Sales revenue dropped 26 percent to 188.6 billion yen ($2.1 billion).

The large drop in revenue has been attributed to slowing demand for the Nintendo DS, including a 33 percent drop in US sales last month, and the stronger Japanese yen. In total, 3.15 million DS units were sold compared to 5.97 million in the same period last year, a 47 percent drop. Software sales experienced a 23 percent drop to 22.4 million units. Wii hardware sales in fact increased to 3.04 million from 2.23 million.

Annual profits for the year ending March 31 2011 are expected to drop 10 percent, to 320 billion yen ($3.6 billion).

TalkBack / Nintendo 3DS Experience, or E3 Repeat
« on: July 28, 2010, 08:29:44 PM »

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/blog/23785

Nintendo often shows their E3 games in London for UK journalists to try out around a month after the event. Today was one of those days, and the NWR UK team were present to play (or replay) some of the games from Nintendo's booth at E3. As it was the first time the 3DS was playable in the UK, the event was titled "Nintendo 3DS Experience".

We saw less than half of the games from Nintendo's E3 booth. There were just a handful of 3DS demos, including Nintendogs + Cats and Pilotwings Resort on the playable side.

One of the games there I hadn't played during E3 was Hollywood 61 from Ubisoft. The opening sequence showed a detective in his car, driving to a crime scene. The graphics used a realistic style. On arrival there was a puzzle where you had to turn mirrors that had been arranged in a grid shape so that a beam of light from the bottom of the screen would go into an entrance at the top of the screen.

I'd also missed the 3D camera tech demo previously, and this was the only one of the Nintendo tech demos on display. There is a separate on-screen slider that you use to focus the picture and adjust the level of 3D before you take the photo. The image tended to blur even before the snapshot was taken if the focus wasn't set correctly.

I didn't think much of Nintendogs the first time I saw it; the Frisbee didn't really impress me. After seeing the facial recognition mode, where the puppies come up to the screen, little paws sticking out and licking your face, and discovering the puppies can do the some of the tricks from the original game, I have to admit that it's very cute.

On the Wii side there was no Zelda, but I had a chance to play Metroid: Other M. The demo was extremely long, mainly due to the lengthy cutscenes. It was the same demo as E3, and since I played from the beginning, I ran through a tutorial mode in a testing chamber before the two main sections. It looks like Prime, but controls very differently. The game seems to do a lot for you, such as snapping to enemies when you are shooting them. While I can't be certain, it seems easier to avoid enemies when you're in visor mode, I would have expected to lose more health than I did. Also I was able to fully recharge my health when it became very low. As for the many cutscenes, they serve to tell the backstory of how Samus came to be who she is today. There is a lot of spoken inner dialogue as she reflects on events in the past.

GoldenEye 007 was playable in multiplayer with a control choice of the Classic Controller Pro, or the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. As the latter was not available at E3, I took the opportunity to test it out. It seemed a little strange pointing at a section of the split screen; your pointer movement is relative to the sensor, so you don't point directly at your corner. I found it more difficult than the Classic Controller Pro, it seemed to be less accurate and a little floaty.

While I took the opportunity to play Professor Layton and the Unwound Future at length, there's little more to say about the game without story spoilers; the layout is exactly the same as the previous game apart from enhanced memo function I've mentioned. There were two games from the trunk that I came across, one that was particularly exciting to me. There was a toy car mini-game that seems to have replaced the hamster, and instead of the camera/painting puzzle there was a set of three picture storybooks. The game gives you stickers about as often as tea ingredients from the last game, and you place these on the picture book pages to fill in the blanks for the story. The story will have something like, "on the right there was a [tree]" so you'd place the sticker you thought matched best on the right side of the page. I thought this was really neat, and I enjoy anything that lets you collect stickers.

I was pleased to have a chance to finish the demos of Kirby's Epic Yarn and Donkey Kong Country Returns. E3 is so busy that you only get one chance with games, and I only saw those two titles briefly. Kirby was just as charming as last time, with the dash move Car Kirby still a firm favourite. During co-op, I found myself crashing my blue car into Greg's Kirby car, leading us to figure out that you can jump while you're a car to avoid such incidents. Of course this meant we had a mid-air car crash instead.

DKCR surprised me now that I had a chance to play it fully; there is a lot to explore in each level and it's not really about speeding through. A varying number of puzzle pieces have been added to each level. On first seeing the stats at the end of a level showing 0/5 collected, I groaned about something else to collect, but you have to work for most of these puzzle pieces. For one such piece, pounding a platform to unlock a hidden barrel, which shoots you to a sub-level where you have to defeat four crab-like creatures (jump on them once, pound the ground to flip them over, then jump on them once more) before the puzzle piece appears.

Thank you to Nintendo UK for providing a venue with ample seating to play some E3 games!

TalkBack / Aonuma: 3D Technology is Perfect for Zelda
« on: July 27, 2010, 08:58:22 PM »

Eiji Aonuma is excited to bring The Legend of Zelda to 3DS.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23775

In an interview from the latest issue of Official Nintendo Magazine UK, Eiji Aonuma speaks on the possible enhancements that 3D technology could bring to the Ocarina of Time remake for 3DS.

Aonuma states that 3D, in combination with the 3DS's other new elements, are a perfect fit for the Zelda series.  He gives visual depth in riding through vistas and more accurate distance between enemies during combat as examples. In terms of 3D gameplay, he says that integration will be dependent on the effects of a number of factors, such as whether it makes players tired, or causes them to spend long periods of time in front of their systems.

A trailer of the opening sequence to Ocarina of Time for 3DS was shown at the E3 2010 Nintendo Roundtable. The full interview from this month's issue of ONM also goes in-depth about Skyward Sword, and mentions that the game takes place before Ocarina of Time. The magazine is on UK store shelves now.

TalkBack / Nintendo Registers Japanese 3DS Trademarks
« on: July 27, 2010, 12:44:32 PM »

Connectivity-related "CrossPass" and E3 tech demos are included.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23770

A number of trademarks registered by Nintendo in Japan have been uncovered, with the majority expected to be related to 3DS connectivity.

CrossPass, CrossPass Mode, CrossPass Network, and CrossPass Connection are the registered terms that have been discovered. It is speculated that these terms relate to the Tag Mode already described by Nintendo, which allows 3DS units to connect while in standby mode to exchange game data such as score tables.

Additionally, trademarks were registered for Target Shooting, 3D Paddleball, 3D Challenge, and 3D Hopper. These correspond to the four tech demos that were playable at E3 2010 on 3DS, but it is unknown yet whether they are intended to be full games. Check the game links for our impressions on each title from the event.

TalkBack / This Week in Nintendo Downloads
« on: July 26, 2010, 08:59:54 PM »

One for Virtual Console, to the depths with Dive: The Medes Island Secret, and up in the air with Face Pilot.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23767

As Nintendo described, this week's Virtual Console/Ware takes us high up into the air, back onto solid land, and deep into watery depths. All this and more, from the comfort of your own home.

As we have a sighting of a Virtual Console release, what better place to start? The rumoured Aero The Acrobat, previously seen on SNES, surfaces for 800 Wii Points ($8). Aero, our titular acrobat, works in a circus, but when the evil Edgar Ektor seizes control it is up to him to battle against evil and use his tricks to defeat Ektor's henchmen. The game was published by Sunsoft and developed by Iguana Entertainment, a company sadly no longer in existence.

WiiWare will be of interest to many this week, with the anticipated Dive: The Medes Island Secret from Cosmonaut Games. We here at NWR were so excited for this title that we posted a news article about the upcoming announcement of a release date. Ship treasure hunting will cost you 1,000 Wii Points ($10).

The second WiiWare release is an oddity due to the fact it has Wii Zapper support, should anyone be looking for a second use for the peripheral aside from Link's Crossbow Training. Heavy Fire: Special Operations takes you into a military war zone in the Middle East with vehicle missions, increasingly powerful weapons, and world rankings for high scores. Teyon's title comes in at 500 Wii Points ($5).

Finally, we have the handful of DSiWare releases. 500 DSi Points ($5) gives you access to a selection of three titles. Face Pilot: Fly With Your Nintendo DSi Camera! is now available in North America, having seen a European release last month. Tilting your head controls the game's glider as the DSi camera tracks your position. We saw similar elements during E3 in Tech Demo: Face Ace for 3DS.

Gameloft's Crystal Monsters places you in a monster battling and collecting world with the goal of becoming the best Monster Breeder. Not an unfamiliar concept, but it throws in customisation of three of your critters using DSi camera photos. The multiplayer Puffins: Let's Race!, from Other Ocean Interactive, is a head-to-head competition for Fastest Flyer, with themed power-ups on eight different tracks.

After last week's Cats, Ubisoft tries out Petz Hamsterz Family, teaching us all-important hamster care facts, such as never to put your domesticated mammal in the microwave, for 800 Points ($8).  Featurez Editor and dog lover (note: not literally) James Jones chimes in again, with "I heart Corgiz", but Petz developer Andrew Mayer has previously noted that gamers don't know what they want in games, so this has ensured such a title will never come to be.

The budget title of the week is Tasuke's Absolute BrickBlaster for 200 DSi Points ($2). This features Arkanoid-style brick breaking with a twist, including missions and special items.

Concluding, this is the last week of Big Name Games for WarioWare: DIY. The folks at Treehouse bring us their final set of downloadable microgames.

TalkBack / Sakaguchi on Working with Nintendo on Last Story
« on: July 26, 2010, 08:54:14 PM »

In his online blog, Hironobu Sakaguchi posts about his visit to Nintendo in Kyoto.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23768

In his latest entry on the development of Last Story, Hironobu Sakaguchi talks about a four-day training camp held at Nintendo's old office buildings in Kyoto.

He writes of nostalgic feelings returning to the company's offices after 20 years have passed (his early days in game design were sometimes spent there), and discusses the implemention of suggestions from the Last Story game review process that was conducted. While difficult, as some of the requests seemed overwhelming, discussions and "night thinking" led to the incorporation of improved features and an overall more polished title.

Sakaguchi also says he found it beneficial to exchange stories with Nintendo staff during lunch, leading him to feel the "Nintendo-ism" that leads to something being created from nothing. He specifically mentioned the desire to "create something fascinating" that is prevalent around the Nintendo offices.

Hironobu Sakaguchi is the creator of the Final Fantasy series and is now at Mistwalker, a studio he founded in 2004.

TalkBack / Nintendo Awards Highest Average Summer Bonuses
« on: July 26, 2010, 01:49:59 PM »

Nintendo employees are enjoying the highest summer bonuses across Japanese industry.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23759

For the second year in a row, Nintendo has awarded the largest summer bonuses to their employees compared to all other Japanese companies.

In a survey by Nikkei (Nihon Keizai Shimbun), on average for Japanese industry in general, summer bonuses are up 0.75 percent from last year, while for Nintendo, the rate is slightly lower than the previous year due to factors such as slower Wii sales in March.

Industries such as fisheries, textile manufacture, and print had increases relative to last year, while steel, oil, banking, and tourism experienced large decreases, resulting in the overall slight increase.

The legendary Pokemon #000 will be distributed in stores and at kiosks.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23758

Pokemon Sunday, the Japanese television broadcast, recently revealed a Phantom Pokemon with the Pokedex number #000, the first to use this number in the index.  This new Pokemon has been named Victini, and is a legendary Pokemon only available by download, similar to others in the series.

More details have emerged on the official website, including how to receive the special item that will allow you to access the area where Victini can be found.

In Japan, from the launch date of September 18 until October 18, a "Liberty Ticket" will be obtainable from retail Nintendo Zones, DS Download kiosks, and shops selling Pokemon products.

Screenshots of this new Pokemon have now been posted on the official Japanese website, where there are also details of all the Pokemon revealed for Black & White so far.

TalkBack / This Week in Nintendo Downloads
« on: July 20, 2010, 09:54:17 AM »

It's a downloadable zoo out there.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23730

This week brings eight releases in total, divided into three for WiiWare, and five for DSiWare.

First to take the WiiWare stage is Nintendo's own AquaSpace. For 600 Wii Points ($6), you can have your own virtual, interactive, customisable aquarium that you can visit with your Miis. It includes fish feeding, fish facts, fish following, fish feeling, but not fish fur, which takes us the next game, Furry Legends from Gamelion.  The 3D platformer takes place in bizarre Furland, where animals have mutated into fluffy, oddly-shaped creatures that can, amongst their various skills, time travel to save their strange world from Lord Squarie. All this fur can be yours for 1,000 Wii Points ($10).

The last WiiWare game of the week is HoopWorld by Virtual Toys, which combines three-on-three, arcade-style basketball with a mythical fantasy theme. Ruined temples are transformed into basketball courts so you can play for a world ranking, for 1,000 Wii Points ($10).

On DSiWare this week, Ubisoft's efforts bring newborn kittenz to DSi, with Petz Kittens available for 800 DSi Points ($8). When questioned about the title, our Features Editor and "-z" game fetishist James Jones told me that it's the 6th Catz-based Petz game you can play on the DS if you count the GBA version, with a far higher number when you include other systems.

EA tests out Scrabble Tools, a supplement to Scrabble games that includes vocabulary and strategy exercises, but no extra blank tiles. Next up is Hospital Havoc by Hands-On Mobile, letting you manage a doctor in a hospital with everything from wacky patients to zombies. With a content description of "Mild Cartoon Violence", it might not be the safest place to go when you're sick.

Happy Birthday Mart from Pixel Federation brings back the animals, who visit your store to buy gifts for their friends. They must be a raucous crowd, as well as selling the gifts, you also must clean up after them and mend broken shelves. Download any of these three for 500 DSi Points ($5).

Concluding this week's DSiWare is dtp entertainment's Crazy Sudoku. The five difficulty levels, choice of grid sizes, and per square Note feature seem only mildly eccentric, but if you're interested it'll set you back 200 DSi Points ($2).

As for Wario Ware: DIY's Big Name Games, the penultimate week brings just a few more games from Treehouse, localisation experts at Nintendo of America.

TalkBack / Hardware Sales Up in June NPD Report
« on: July 16, 2010, 11:21:08 AM »

Red Dead still rules the software chart, but Super Mario Galaxy 2 makes its mark as well.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23703

The NPD Group has released its U.S. hardware and software sales numbers for the month of May (5/30/10 - 7/3/10), and each chart bears many similarities to last month.

The industry on the whole was down when compared to the same period last year (dropping to $1.10B from $1.17B), but sales of console hardware were up 6 percent year-on-year.  The Nintendo DS once again led the way with torrid sales of 510.7K, up sharply from last month's 383.7K.  The Xbox 360 was close behind in second place with sales of 451.7K, pulling ahead of the Wii's 422.5K units sold with its second-largest non-holiday sales month since the launch of Halo 3 in September 2007. Despite a fourth-place finish, the PlayStation 3 pushed its streak of month-on-month sales increases to 11 months running.

NPD US Video Game Hardware Sales - June 2010

1. Nintendo DS - 510.7k
2. Xbox 360 - 451.7K
3. Wii - 422.5K
4. PlayStation 3 - 304.8K
5. PSP - 121.0K

The top of the software chart is once again dominated by a single title, Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption. Its combined sales of 963.2K were enough to land it the first and third spots on the chart for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, respectively. Its strong sales also make it the highest-selling game of 2010 so far.

Nintendo effectively owns the rest of the chart, however. Super Mario Galaxy 2 raked in 548.4K worth of sales in its first full sales month to land the number two spot. New Super Mario Bros. Wii keeps on selling and appears at number four, with Just Dance and Wii Fit Plus taking the fifth and sixth spots. Toy Story 3 for Nintendo DS capitalized on the movie's recent release to grab the seventh spot, and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 for Wii appears at number nine. UFC 10: Undisputed for Xbox 360 and PS3 rounds out the bottom of the list.

9. LEGO HARRY POTTER: YEARS 1-4    WII    WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE    Jun-10
10. UFC 2010: UNDISPUTED    PS3    THQ    May-10

(*includes CE, GOTY editions, bundles, etc. but not those bundled with hardware)

One notable omission from the June software top 10 is EA's Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11. NPD's Anita Frazier noted that, "The new Tiger Woods release sold only 32 percent of what last year's release sold in its introductory month at retail. That said, last year's game saw a huge sales increase over previous versions".

TalkBack / Hideki Konno Discusses the Nintendo 3DS
« on: July 15, 2010, 07:51:02 PM »

Wired's interview gives some of the history behind the 3DS.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23699

During E3, Wired's Game|Life blog interviewed Hideki Konno, Head of Nintendo's Entertainment Analysis & Development, Software Development Group 1. Konno has worked on Nintendo games since Super Mario Bros., and more recently was the producer of Nintendogs and Mario Kart for Nintendo DS. He is in charge of the concept and definition of capabilities for the Nintendo 3DS.

The interview confirms several details about the 3DS hardware and software, including the existence of downloadable content similar to DSiWare, a Tag Mode viewer for data saved from games supporting Tag Mode, and that the shape and look of the 3DS are the final version and are not expected to be changed before release.

On the inclusion of the Slide Pad, Konno notes that both he and Miyamoto insisted that the next handheld console included analogue control.

The full interview is available at Game|Life.

Nintendo's retail and downloadable releases for Europe until September.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23690

Today Nintendo of Europe announced the summer release schedule, covering the period until the end of September.Wii titles already confirmed include Metroid: Other M and Tetris Party Deluxe, both arriving on 3 September.

One notable announcement is the release of Face Training: Facial exercises to strengthen and relax from Fumiko Inudo for Nintendo DS. For the initial Japanese release, a camera peripheral for the GBA slot was included to allow a mirror-like image of yourself to be shown on screen for visual feedback of how well each exercise was performed. It seems the software has been reworked to use the DSi's camera, and the included stand makes a reappearance.

Also part of the DS releases are Dragon Quest IX on  23 July, Art Academy on 6 August, and Last Window: The Secret of Cape West, the sequel  to Hotel Dusk, will be coming on 17 September.

The full list of games is below.

TalkBack / Metroid: Other M European Release Date Confirmed
« on: July 08, 2010, 10:37:28 AM »

Samus' next adventure will arrive in Europe shortly after its North American and Japanese launches.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23635

Today Nintendo announced that 3 September 2010 is the European launch date for Metroid: Other M.

This joins the previously announced dates of 31 August for North America and 1 September for Japan. This is near enough to a simultaneous launch for most of the world, with the date variations due to local release patterns. Game releases in Europe are normally on Fridays.

Other M's release date was narrowed down to September in a recent report by MCV, and they proved to be correct.

A patent for a system to load Wii games from a hard drive used in hospitals, hotels, retail stores, and development was recently discovered.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23600

A patent application submitted by Nintendo and published on June 24, 2010 shows details of a jukebox-type system for loading one of multiple Wii games from a hard drive read through the DVD bus, with each game stored as a separate partition, and a game selection program as the default menu.

This game jukebox is currently in use for the Wii Starlight Fun Centers in hospitals. In conjunction with Toys "R" Us, Starlight Children's Foundation, and Nintendo, Starlight Fun Centers containing a flat screen television, DVD player, Wii and stored games have been in use at hospitals to entertain unwell children. The Wii games are stored on a hard drive, with the option to select a game of your choice from a sliding menu showing the box art.

The patent also includes the use of the system for hotels and retail stores, as these are also situations where loading a stored game is preferable to using DVDs. Additionally, methods are included that would allow game developers to send preview builds between branches.

As US patents are awarded based on invention date, regardless of filing date, it becomes obvious that this patent is for the system in this video, showing the Starlight Fun Center in action.

TalkBack / This Week in Nintendo Downloads
« on: June 28, 2010, 11:46:13 AM »
Play tennis with Mario, Jett around on WiiWare, and battle mutant insects in this week's selection of downloads.
                        http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23568

The Virtual Console makes a triumphant return
to N64 classics, and there's a variety of WiiWare and DSiWare titles new for
download this week.

Virtual Console's single title this week is
Mario Tennis, as previously seen on Nintendo 64. It's back to the basics for
tennis controls as the very first game in the series is available for 1,000 Wii
points ($10).

Shin'en Multimedia's Jett Rocket is the first of
three WiiWare
releases this week, giving Jett Rocket the ability to use a Jett Boat, Jett
Snowboard, and even a Jett Turbine in the quest to save the planet Yoroppa from
the Power Plant Posse in this 3D action adventure, downloadable for 1,000 Wii
points ($10).

Pong Toss Pro from JV Games Inc. adds a tournament
mode and new
controls to the game, for 600 Wii points ($6), while Robin Hood: The Return of
Richard by Nordcurrent lets you shoot your way to victory for 500 Wii points
($5).

Six DSiWare titles are available for download this
week, ranging
from the rhythm game Maestro! Green Groove, dating adventure Date or Ditch,
puzzler Animal Color Cross, real-time strategy Ancient Tribe, and another puzzle
title, Brain Drain. Each of these costs 500 DSi points ($5).

The final DSiWare release this week is Battle of
Giants™: Mutant
Insects - Revenge from Ubisoft.  It
features battling missions and a duel mode, and comes in at 800 DSi points
($8).

TalkBack / PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure Impressions
« on: June 27, 2010, 04:35:38 PM »
There is no limit to the Pokemon side games possible.
                        http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/impressions/23561

PokePark is the first fully 3D Pokemon
adventure game. Pikachu is in a world where for some reason there are no theme
park rides. This, being a big problem, is solved by Pikachu undertaking various
side quests in order to restore theme park attractions to the different zones
of Poke Park.

Making friends is possible by answering a quiz,
battling, or racing. Battles and racing are done in the open level, and the 1
and 2 buttons are used to launch attacks to help you. With more Pokemon friends
collected, it is possible to unlock new rides and new parts of the story.

As attractions are built, they become playable
in free play Arcade Mode. Mini games are similar in style to those of Pokemon
Stadium, with simple competitions featuring the various critters.

PokePark is a very simple, easy to play game
with enough tasks in the quest mode to keep you playing. It's entertaining
enough to power through the story mode to unlock everything, but this being a
Pokemon game it will surely take a long time to find all of them.
