TalkBack / RE: Konami Announces Target: Terror
« on: January 03, 2008, 06:42:58 PM »
What the holy hell is that?!? I mean there is a killing to be made in light gun games like Virtual Cop and the Time Crisis series, but what in all that is holy is that? I mean I played Lethal Enforcers back on the SNES in the early 90's and we collectively moved away from bloody digitized crap pretty soon after.

Konami, I know it is the New Years and you are still drunk, but please stop exposing yourself in public until your sober.

That is an abomination of an controller. It's the fusion of the N64 six face buttons but missing the middle, playstation start/select and the SNES base controller. Awful, a crime against nature.

Gentlemen, to your pitchforks

There is no way in hell you should have to or want to pay the difference. Even though consumer laws here differ from yours, assuming you live in a civilized country, you got given a broken product.

Hahahaha. This has got to be a record of some sort. Paint the town RED. Three townies for one Mafia is not that hot of a ratio.

Black Hawk Down came off more of an realistic action movie to me. All the Marines looked the same. You couldn't tell one from another let alone empathize   with them. There was was a lot of intensity and not much else.

Band of Brothers was something else. Initially you felt like you were on an adventure, off to the big war so everybody can go be heros. Boot camp ends with everybody rightly pissed off at Ross. Then the bullets start flying. Your sitting there with them in the fox hole while the forest explodes. A far superior experience.

I have yet to ever play any war game that replicates any of that. Every war game out there just throws the bad guy of said period at you until you wipe out the the 5th SS Panzer division. What would make an interesting experience would be those peace keeping missions you keep hearing about. Sure you do have a gun, but your not really suppose to use it.

No one would argue that Oblivion had massive problems. But the difficulty slider was an awful, lazy attempt to fix them. It was the equivalent of a band-aid on a gunshot wound.

Changing difficulty between levels is great and all, especially for FPS where it is pretty easy to divide out levels in such a pattern. But the differences must be a bit more meaningful than damage multipliers. GE/PD to Timesplitters 2. TS2 failed in that department by loading you up with pointless collectathons like collecting wanted posters as extra objectives. Although I do admit that might have been the result of having and overly linear level design...

I got quite annoyed with God Of War when it kept asking me to downgrade from Hard. I chose hard for a reason and I am going to stick to it.

The real question should have been what do you play a game for? If you there to waste time, why not have a higher difficulty. Same if you wanted a challenge. If you don't like challenges, then ask yourself why are you playing games you are playing in the first place.

I am assuming that you will get a Wii in the future, keep the game. If she asks about it, act embarrassed like you should do and say you don't have a Wii to play with it right now. Then tell her you love her.

Never ever get a gift from your girlfriend returned for something else. EVER. It is always the thought that counts. Also it is SMG.

While I would quickly scream that people that play games on easy as WEAK, there are games like Trauma Center for DS where I haven't past any of the extra levels at the end of the game.

Eidos/Cnet should be singled out because they were caught red handed. Given an event like thing as relatively rare, why NOT send as strong a message as possible. None of this is acceptable and should be made known industry wide. Other forms media may do this kind of thing as standard practice, but WHY should we accept it? Why not hold them to a high standard? If they can't meet that standard, they should get the heck out.

I am not surprised that it is balanced towards two players. Virtually every light gun game out there that allows two players are almost unplayable with one gun/player to the end on one credit. But seriously, with almost any light gun game dual wielding is where the action is.
