Best impression of Konami EVER.

Back on topic (to an extent). Of course GCN owners are going to buy a whole freaking lot of Nintendo's first party software. If you didn't want Mario, Samus, and Link you wouldn't have bought a GCN to begin with. It is important to keep buying those third party games though, and not at discount in the super saver bin for $9.99 at Wal-Mart either. I mean brand new at GameStop or EB.

Granted most people who would post here are fairly intelligent gamers who can recognize a good non-Nintendo game when they see it and don't hesitate to buy it. The problem is this. How do you get the generic Nintendo fan who ONLY owns a GCN for the first party stuff to buy more second/third party software? Many people who have a GCN now, previously bought a PS2 and they buy PLENTY of third party games for the PS2 that are readily available for the cube. This is frustrating and there is no good answer, no real solution to the problem.

All I can say is maybe if Nintendo helped these third parties out with some advertising dollars the third parties in question would match them better. Not fair to Nintendo, sure, but Nintendo has dug themselves a hole here. While this is hardly the same as the N64 days when we had to wait MONTHS for a new game to come out, it could be significantly better than it is. Nintendo should just bite the bullet and start kissing some serious ass. Lower the roylalty rates for third party software down to a rediculously low level if certain game release quotas are met. Sort of an I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine kind of thing.

I don't know. This whole thing sucks. I don't like getting too wrapped up in it because it makes my brain hurt.

Yes but it's dangerous driving your truck in the lawn what with all those beer cans laying around that poke holes in your "tars".

I'm down to one dog now by the way. A small one. Who poops a lot.

I'm assuming your warranty is up? Because if it wasn't I'd just contact Nintendo and get them to give me the hook up. If I were you.

Yeah I remember Adam from X-PLAY griping about that when the first game came out. I gave the first title a rental and it was fun and all. And I'm sure that I'll give the new one a chance too but I have a feeling it will just give me the same feeling that the first one did. The feeling that I'd rather be playing Turtles in Time instead.

He was carefully planning his post.

As for Foxworthy hell I'll post my thoughts. I used to think he was funny. Then I heard his Redneck joke about your porch falling and killing more than three dogs. At the time I had upwards of five dogs living under my porch. He quit being funny then...and started making me sad.

I just fail to see why the need for two disks ever came up. I don't believe for a second that all the info from either the MK or TMNT bonus disks wouldn't fit on just the one disk. I think that this is just a cheap ploy to make you think you are getting more free stuff than you actually are.

Nintendo are like the Democrats of the gaming industry. They trust people to be able to think for themselves too much.

I was just in a conversation about that in another forum not too long ago. I'll add something here that I forgot to mention there.

The VJ sales on the PS2 should have been expected to be low. Sure it was a great game but several people that own a GCN also own a PS2 so they probably already had the game for the cube to start with and were just like me...pissed at the PS2 version's extra features.

Heck, VJ was probably a favorite among those who have both a PS2 AND GCN. My reasoning being that anyone who owns a PS2 alongside a GCN more than likely isn't one of those fanboys of Nintendo who only buy the first party stuff. (Hence, helping to kill off the system they claim to love so much. Show some 3rd party love people!) So they probably recognized that VJ would be a great game back when it was an exclusive to the cube and picked it up.

That's exactly how I felt about the whole situation. I mean I had fun playing TS but c'mon that was so not a job for a talented developer like SK. But who knows, perhaps the game was supposed to be a gift for SK. So that they might see some big sales for once. God knows they deserved them for Eternal Darkness.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Star Wars Rebel Strike
« on: October 19, 2004, 08:30:50 PM »
Rebel Strike was a really fun game. The levels (not including any of the "on foot" ones) were even more fun and challenging than Rogue Leader's were. The graphics even seemed a little bit improved. All in all it's the superior of the two.

It's just too bad that the "on foot" missions failed to add anything positive to the gaming experience. But I think Factor 5 must've realized this at some point for there weren't that many in the game. I guess it was simply something to do so that the game could be seen as something different from it's precursor.

Edit: can't spall tu gud

Nintendo Gaming / RE:GameCube Controller Question
« on: October 19, 2004, 08:26:16 PM »
You know there are always people who claim that their controllers are as good as they the day they were made. Now I'm not saing that that isn't possible. Some folks just take outstanding care of their stuff. But you never really know just how bad off your current controller is untill you buy a new one and start playing with it.

I say this because I never thought that after only a year or so my GCN controllers would have any noticeable wear to their control sticks. But then I went out and bought a couple new ones and I was AMAZED at just how sensitive and responsive the sticks were. It just goes to show I guess.

Speaking of which, that's been a WHILE ago. Time to buy more GCN controllers!

It doesn't really matter that the DS won't play ancient GameBoy games. I mean how many potential customers will Nintendo lose by not allowing the DS to play Tetris?

Yeah Perm those were funny to those in the know but the more generic comercials probably sell more products.

It's sad. People are easily confused yet so hard to entertain.

494
Yeah it'll be tough. After the GCN price dropped to 99.99 and the system shortage that followed for the next couple weeks occured, it probably ate up most of the original systems that stores still had.

I haven't heard or seen jack squat on the matter. But Nintendo had better push this game hard. I'm talking a sales push the likes of which we haven't seen since....man Nintendo sucks at advertising. I can't think of a good example.
