Nintendo Gaming / RE: Next Gen Longer?
« on: October 03, 2005, 09:07:38 PM »
As long as companies other than Nintendo are making consoles, the gap between generations is only getting to get shorter if anything at all. If Nintendo were alone in this market they would release one system every 8-10 years. They've pretty much admitted as much outloud.

MS have no shame when it comes to jumping the gun. I look for them to do it again.

Did that hurt?

Yes, but not as much as my brain after trying to figure out why I paid for that game.

I don't have a triforce tatoo. But I do have a tatoo of the cover art of TMNT: Battle Nexus on the inside of my anus. That way I can poop on that game at least once a day.

Now if you'll excuse me I'd like to map out Kirby's Air Ride using the Rev controller...

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Miyamoto Interview
« on: September 29, 2005, 10:59:31 PM »
While that SOUNDS like a typical Nintendo mistake, I think Nintendo will want to show that the Rev is about adding something to gaming while not taking away anything at the same time. So hopefully they'll want to showcase something like MP3 at first, just so everyone starts out on the same page.

The best I'm hoping for at the GDC is some attachment news. Maybe even a prototype standard shell. Pics of that thing need to come out to help solidify it's existence.

That may be true. But I bet Retro and others close allies of Nintendo still get franchises to work with.

Man I didn't know if unlocking the Handcannon in mercs would be worth it but OH IT IS. You can max it out to a 99.9 powerlevel with infinite ammo.

Now I'm actually going in and trying to get all those bottlecaps.

Question for you guys: The Right Hand and "It" are total pains in the ass to kill right? Well don't you guys like to what I do and just buy a rokcet launcher right before you fight them and them come battle time WAMMO! Annhilate them?

I liked Adventures. But that's possibly because it introduced that new character. You know the one, uuhh ooh.. Tricky. Yes. That'll do. But really, it was pretty good fun, I thought I'd get pissed off at all the collecting it apparently has. BUT WHERE? Oh no I had to go into temples and junk to find important objects that move the story along. I also had to find power cells, this is horrible. Still has some of the greatest graphics on GC, too.

I mostly agree with you there.

I don't think Adventures is that great of a game. But it is definately a good solid title. Just nothing I plan on playing 20 times. I've beaten it twice and that'll do. But I totally agree that the "collectathon" argument is a little lame. That's just what you DO in certain games. Especially Rare games. But then again I liked DK 64 a LOT so what do I know?

SFAdventures had great graphics and sound, the gameplay was tight and fluid (although I could've used a few more offensive moves with my staff) the level designs were nothing great overall. But a few of the worlds had some really interestingly put together areas. Some of which actually made you have to think in order to solve a puzzle. Overall though, the puzzle solving was light and the enemies were weak. Even the bosses.

But as far as fun games go, this one is right up there. I think anyone who wants a good game for a one time run through, SFAdventures is your game.

I've been getting GamePro for YEARS. And I never resubscribe, they just keep showing up! And it is the WORST gaming magazine of all time. I like Nintendo Power better, I have a hundred back issues of NP as well.

But these days the only gaming mag I subscribe to and CARE about is EGM. They just get the best interviews and everything is so well written. Although I have been thinking of a Game Informer subscription. I always check that one out when I'm killing time at Hastings.

Well even IF the Han Solo specs were real, Factor 5 would have to make that statement. I'm sure they're under NDAs about everything and anything to do with the Rev hardware and if it ever got out that it was a F5 employee that leaked the specs they would be in big trouble.

I still don't buy the specs though. Not because these don't seem reasonable. But because of how well they hid the controller from us. If Nintendo hid that controller away for that long without us finding out about it then I have little faith in any "spec leaking" about the Rev hardware being for real.

Call me cinikel...but also call me a bad speller.
