Nintendo Gaming / RE:Revolution = Official Name?

Maybe my memory is rusty, but I don't recall Dolphin logos

There was a big Revolution logo during the Nintendo Press conference, the same logo that is on that prototype.
It doesn't look very inspiring. But the name has grown on me a lot.

I seen people talking about Wall Guy/Man on another forum

They're wrong. He's Wall Man. Plain and simple.

I'm not worthy enough to make my own Wall Man inspired artwork, but I'm still a huge fan.

They should just abandon the PD franchise and rebadge it with Wall Man. It'd sell like hotcakes. With all the time spent waiting for action, pondering the next wall-based pose, and linking up stylish moves while hiding from the action, I'd see the game lasting a good 50+ hours in single player.

And multiplayer could be all about 'Wall-Offs' - think the rap battles of 8 Mile, only cooler. I'd show off my best wall pose, and you'd pull off your best wall pose. Witty remarks would be thrown around about various players' mothers, and I'd say how "phat" I am. Then you'd have the opportunity to pull a gun on me and go for the fatality. I'd have a certain amount of time to reach the safety of the wall before you shoot me in my posing leg, thus ruining all hope of me posing my way to victory. If you are successful, then you win the round. If I reach the safety of the wall, we go to the next round, swapping the roles of "shooter" and "coward" until someone wins.

Various team games such as Capture the Wall and Pose Tag would also be amusing for all involved. It'd be like Hollywood Hogan's Fingerpoint of Doom, rendering the target in suspended animation until a team mate rushes to save you from a fate worse than death ... NOT BEING ABLE TO WALL POSE!

I heard that a secret Wall Pose DDR mode would be included if the time-frame permits. But that's unlikely considering the Wall Controller for Xbox360 is still under heavy development - they're having problems making the wall poses emulated properly in the game. Much like the Eyetoy, you'd look like an idiot when you play it because only the hardcore gamers understand how the best wall men can achieve victory without violence.

Blollin' at this comment from someone at the MTV unveiling:

Quote

Eight games were shown -- seven viewable, one playable. Perfect Dark Zero was the only playable title, and it was underwhelming, looking early, dark, and chugging at under 20 FPS

IGNxbox are all over this, so hit them up if you want to see more.
Side note: its basically what all the rumours have been like. No real suprises apart from that comment above.

I honestly think that everyone who I play against will be horrified at how bad I actually am. I am seriously a terrible gamer. That said, I will never tire of being pwned, so you can always count me in for a game.

Yeah, I plan to be known across all the internet lands. Good or bad, it matters not.

I'd like to claim my real-life nickname, Shifty, because that's what I've been known as all my e-life. If not, I'd gladly go with one of the derivations of Shifty that I've come across - Shift Key, Short-Shift and Shufty are personal faves.

Watch out for me

It's like why wouldn't your favorite brand of computers not to play dvd's? It already plays all your favorite games, but why not dvd's....for free?

What? A DVD drive might come standard with a computer, but it is added to the cost of the system. Its a totally different thing to what you're all on about.
And brand computers are horrible. Build your own and end up with a more powerful computer with money to spare.

Quote

If they are incorperating the HD-DVD drive into the REV simply because it provides ample room for games, how can you say that you'll be paying 100 dollars more a function,

Because technology costs money. And HD-DVD is not even a dominant format for movies at the moment - throwing it into the Revolution would make it much more expensive, thus turning people away. And who knows if the format will be successful?
Even if they included this magical new format, but  turned off the movie playability, you wouldn't be happy at all, I'll bet. That's called hyprocrisy. Because then you'd complain that they should be able to play movies. Bill's just drawing a line, and he does have a point. There are ways around the maximum capacity of a medium...

Quote

They need to have it if the PS3 and Xbox 2 have it.
Last I heard the 360 is going to have DVD9 (dual-layer DVD for those playing along at home) so don't bet the farm on that hunch.

Change the colour scheme. Blue on red makes my inner child scream in pain, not to mention my eyes.
Light text on dark background, or vice versa would be a lot easier to read.

The only reason the wrestlemania brand went to xbox because THQ wanted to get rid of the awful though of RAW games.

Raw 2 is hilarious to play with mates. We stopped a Royal Rumble to have duelling matches with the ringsteps, complete with token "CHAAAAAAARGE" warcries.

Quote

thu the whole microsoft is american might help xbox, since WWE is so proamerican, and seems to mock every country which isnt thier's.
You're kidding right? Did you even know that they've toured Japan, Australia and Europe recently? The wrestlers love seeing the fans around the world. Stop spouting garbage and realise that the publisher probably has more input on which system a game is made for than the actual IP owner.

Quote

The ulitmate irony here is that WWE somewhat favors the Xbox (I remember they had The Rock speak at CES 2001, not to mention tons of Xbox commericals during their programming).

I have this awesome idea. How about I pay the TV man with money hats to broadcast adverts for my imaginary Xbox game during a time when men age 18-29 are likely to be watching? You know, the wrestling is something they would watch. ITS A DATE THEN!
Sheesh, do people not realise that money talks? I really think that its clever marketing, not bias, is responsible for many Xbox adverts on during WWE broadcasts.
There were a lot of adverts for Smackdown vs Raw around the time it was released. Same thing for Raw 2 when it came out. Even now they're running some competition right now to win a copy of Blade: Trinity, signed by HHH, to co-incide with the release to DVD of the movie. Notice a pattern?

Anyway never trust what the australian media say about video games IMO

The Australian media didn't need to bring an opinion to the table about this. It was a Sony press release for starters, and they say the PSP will release here for AU$430. How is that questionable?

Quote

Sony will include a range of accessories with the PlayStation Portable (PSP) package including a 32MB Memory Stick, headphones, remote control, AC adaptor and games sampler.

Remote control? Are Sony planning to move away from the whole 'portable' idea or something? I figure its too scary for people to realise that Sony made a system that is totally portable, so they get them comfortable by allowing them to watch movies from across the room. Sounds fun!

You guys should mention in the article exactly which games have gotten that coveted score in the past to give a better idea of the importance behind this.

Its a Japanese mag (and the scan I saw was really hard to read any comments, let alone translate from Japanese). gamefront.de had a scan of it.

And the GAF response to this has been lol.

Indeed it has *looks at own sig* and its gone up 450-odd posts in 24 hours. Things like this kinda sum up GAF

Getting a 40 from a Famitsu is like asking four retards to pick their favorite shiny object from a pile -- a nickel with OMG PUPPIES on it is sure to have their hamfists flapping for it over all the others.

Nope, it's a 360° turn from their previous direction.
Last I heard, a 360° turn means you go in the same direction as before - totally pointless. Its more likely to mean the traversal of 360° as covering the entire spectrum of something trendy, like nutmeg. I'll wait for Hammertime 360 before I get excited about the Xbox Spinna.

And this mockup (not the blol one) is bad - the 6 on the 360 is upside down for starters. But I'd expect something similar to that design when it finally appears...
