I haven't played Wind Waker yet (should be receiving it soon. . . or else. . .), but while the other games are awesome, they're probably not necessary.  I agree with the others.

Nintendo Gaming / question about mario sunshine and zelda?
« on: April 01, 2003, 02:03:41 PM »
I prefer them not talking.  And the voice acting in Mario Sunshine was one of the few disappointments.  Someone would be upset, no matter what, about the voice they gave them, even if the majority thought it was good, and it was good.  Like the WW graphics.

And Mario talks in Mario 64.  "Thank you so much for-a playing my game!"

My copy of Wind Waker was delayed. . . if it's not in the mail tomorrow, I'm going to officially go insane.

I haven't played it, but I'm positive I'll love it.

Nintendo Gaming / New Zelda Gamecube game after Windwaker?
« on: March 31, 2003, 05:22:55 PM »
I recall Miyamoto saying that he probably wouldn't use the same system for a Zelda game again, in an interview.  He may, but it seems unlikely.  I don't care either way, though.

I don't know why everyone wants another full-on story thing again.  You can't have those all the time; side quests are fun, too.  And you know that the game doesn't feel like a side quest as you play it, just when you look back, after the ending.

I don't know about the Legend Forgotten thing, but what I read said it was the tentative title of the GC one.

Yes, Resident Evil, and I'm sure the series you're named after is the epitome of good gaming.  Gimme a break.

Right on Grey Ninja.  I haven't even played the game yet (oh, one more day I hope. . . accursed Wal-mart should have sent it to me long ago), but I still love the graphics.  My passion, I'm sure, will be doubled when I play the game.

I'm more interested in Killer 7, Capcom-wise.

ARGH!  I must get this game. . .

Supposedly I'm getting in tomorrow or the next day, but that's still too long.  Must. . . play. . .

Hope you get better, though

Nintendo Gaming / New Zelda Gamecube game after Windwaker?
« on: March 30, 2003, 03:38:28 PM »
Yes, there supposedly is one, but I know little about.  I think it's rumored to be called The Legend Forgot(ten).  Not sure if it's forgot or forgotten.  Something like that.  But I have no information other than that.

I agree that advanced gamer was a bit harsh, but Mike-OPN2000 should have had the decency to warn about spoilers.  Be considerate.

Nintendo Gaming / WARNING: Do NOT open the newest Nintendo Newsletter!
« on: March 30, 2003, 12:32:12 PM »
I can understand how some people might like to see it, and it is optional, so if they warn you that the movie in the email (or whatever it is) is in fact a spoiler, you can't blame it on Nintendo.  If they didn't warn you, then you can complain all you want.

4763
Exactly.  Star Fox is good, but Zelda is just so much better.  Of course, you can't compare what the two series actually are: Star Fox is a space shooter/sim and Zelda is an adventure/epic.  You can't really compare them, and SFA is not a good example of what Star Fox really is.

4764
No, Mario had much better stages, plot, characters, and gameplay.  I liked Mario 64.  I've seen little of Banjo-K, but what little I did sucked, and he three or four Rare games I own and have played a good bit suck.

Goldeneye was okay, but I remember really liking the multiplayer.  My friend and I played it at a party almost constantly.  That wa fun.

4765
I haven't played Eternal Darkness, but I would say SFA was worth the buy.  I loathe Banjo-Kazooie, and all the games Rare has made, but this one was okay.

I'm getting it soon, but I intend to take at least a month beating it.  I beat SFA and Metroid Prime entirely too quickly.  Now I know that I need to savor the games. . . I'll take my time on this one.

Nintendo Gaming / Mario Kart Discussion
« on: March 30, 2003, 07:29:15 AM »
The only advantage to online gaming is that you can make fun of people, and you probably can't even do that in Mario Kart.  And there's playing when your friends aren't around, but I'd rather just face the computer, then.

General Gaming / The end of the world...

Point out to him the fact that both Halo and Halo 2 are coming out for computer, so you can own a Gamecube (SSBM and various other games beat the hell out of Halo anyway) and Halo and not pay all that money for an Xbox that'll suck.

4769
I think Rare, as developers, suck.  Donkey Kong sucked, Banjo whatever was crap. . . I never played Perfect Dark, but heck, it probably sucks, too.  All their characters are annoying, stupid, sickeningly happy, and cliche, and their plots are similar.  In my opinion, this is their best creation that I played.  I liked it, but it could have been a lot better if Nintendo had made it.

Nintendo Gaming / I am a 31 year old new GC owner
« on: March 29, 2003, 06:24:57 PM »
This thread makes me feel like Christmas. . . and I'll just assume that you know what I mean.  Just plain good.

I've had NES, basically have SNES, Gameboy, N64, and Gamecube.  I've always been a loyal fan of Nintendo, but I don't think I consciously recognized it until I got my Gamecube, or perhaps the later years of the 64.

Nintendo Gaming / SSB3!! IS IT IN THE WORKS?
« on: March 27, 2003, 04:34:12 PM »
I don't care what the name is, I'm just using the term.  You know what I'm talking about.

There are definite improvements: updates, new characters, better secret characters, etc.

I thought you were a dumbass before, but now it's confirmed.

4773
Star Fox Adventures is worth it, too. . . best game Rare ever bothered making (don't like Rare much), and that's probably only with Nintendo's help. . .

I imagine it will come out for NEXUS, but who knows?  Other than Hal and Nintendo and everything. . . I want a smash bros with a waterpack mario, staffed Fox (or Krystal), and updated Samus and Link.  Hoo yeah!

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo Fans vs. the Third Parties
« on: March 27, 2003, 12:54:10 PM »
That works, I suppose.  I usually only get Nintendo games, though.  I only have six games, not counting WW, which will soon be in my pocket (metaphorically speaking).  Most of my GC collection should come in the rest of the year. . . many games are coming out, and there is plenty of time, money, and holidays to cover all of them.
